1111 AD Tattoo is such a Great place. Amazing Artists and Art. I have known Kirk for 16 years and have dedicated an entire arm sleeve and a half leg sleeve to his skillful work. I would not hesitate to recommend Kirk and all the great tattoo artists at the shop. Check out Luis and Molly while your at it. Both pumping out amazing pieces. The shop itself is very welcoming. Clean, good music and good times. They are also following all Covid protocols, we all had masks, sanitizers for washing our hands, temperature check and UV air conditioning filtration. I felt completely comfortable during my session.

I have just finished my sessions last week but already miss the place. It was like hanging out with awesome buddies. Kirk Alley is absolutely superb, a wonderful artist , I would not let just anybody leave permanent marks on my body. He came highly recommended to me and he definitely lived up to the expectations . Light handed too, makes the pain more bearable

This is easily the best studio I've been to in Los Angeles. I got my work done by Leo. He is extremely kind and unbelievably amazing at how tattoo skills. He was able to take what I imagined and bring it to life. I went in for one cross on my arm and we are currently in the process of finishing my whole forearm. I recommend Leo to anyone looking to get a tattoo here in LA. 1111 AD is a great shop, very clean, kind, and knowledgeable! I got my first and only tattoo from 11:11 AD on Ventura Blvd. I had visions of this tattoo for over a year. Luis gave me exactly what i envisioned. A Perfect Equilateral Triangle. I was raised by my mother who has me and my brother, so i always saw us as the three points in a triangle. We group text every single day. We always make sure each other is safe before we go to bed. The Love is Deep. I was a walk in and the customer service was excellent. There was some really good looking guy who may work there too with a shaved head and lots of tattoos. Nice to have something to distract you from the pain. The studio itself is super artsy and dope. It was also very clean. I truly had a great experience getting my tattoo. read more

Kirk Alley has been tattooing me since 2011, and I don't want anyone else to tattoo me for as long as we both shall live. Truly. I have two major pieces from him: a full sleeve on my left arm and a black-and-white piece that begins on my lower right ribs and wraps behind to the left side of my lower back. The latter required some reworking of old tattoos, and Kirk executed flawlessly. He has my complete trust when it comes to tattooing. I don't think twice about him drawing on me. To state the obvious: Kirk is an incredible artist -- originally a painter recruited to become a tattooist -- who can execute on any style you wish with flying colors. That's rare in a world of specialists who are limited to one style. You will get a one-of-a-kind piece. Plus, Kirk's a pleasure to be around. It's nice to spend a couple of hours talking to him while he draws on me. I always look forward to visiting him, and I hope that can happen again soon. read more

I contacted 1111 AD through Yelp, I was patched through to Luis promptly to discuss my tattoo. He was communicative and professional. I came in a little late from the scheduled time, which was no big deal to them. We discussed the art and the team was very helpful in getting the best for me, of what I had envisioned in my mind. I then sat through a 5-6 hour session with a fair amount of work. I still have to go back to finish up some touch up, I'm extremely happy with the end result tho. it came out better than I thought it would! Thanks Luis. read more

This shop has such an awesome style and vibe to it!! Follows all covid precautions - masks, a nice artist (I'm so sorry I forgot your name) took my temperature right when I walked in, had me sanitize my hands. Very very clean shop. 10/10! My artist Molly is amazing! I've had her work before done at a different studio, but the vibe here fits her so much better! She does beautiful artwork, and makes sure you're happy with it before she starts. She drew directly on my ankle instead of using a transfer image, and even got down to the floor to make sure it looked perfect, such attention to detail! Parking in LA is never fun, but plenty of parking spots with meters were open, and a couple garages within a two minute walk. Definitely will come back here again! read more

I was so happy with their service and how they did their best to accommodate us! The piece they did they for me and my sister's came out great! I'll definitely come back to 1111 AD Tattoo when I choose to get another tattoo done. Response time is great and so is their customer service. It's clean and follows all COVID-19 precautions, so you'll feel safe going in. There's plenty of parking on the streets so that shouldn't be an issue. I'd definitely recommend going here if you are looking to work with great individuals and receive great customer service as well! read more

if you are considering a tattoo this is the place to do it, this shop is super friendly, clean and over all a welcoming atmosphere. I attended the opening of 1111 AD Tattoo and was really impressed. I couldn't get in there quick enough. So much talent in this shop. Not just tattoos, but the canvas artwork is incredible AND FOR SALE! Each and every artist is hand picked by Kirk Alley. So if you have checked out his Facebook page you can be assured clearly (!!) he would only choose top notch artists. I used to go to a different place but the guy got sloppy and rushed things up so I was looking around for the best tattoo shop and I wish I would find them before a long time ago. Adriana was very nice and I enjoyed all the process. Also Kirk and Luis are very nice to be around. I'm definitely coming back to finish the sleeve and possibly some cover ups on the past tattoos done by the other shop. It will be a long journey but I can 100 percent trust Adriana. Have seen Kirk for many years, but first time in his new Studio. His eye for detail is amazing. We have been working on a deep sea sleeve that includes a shark, octopus, siren, orca and sunken plane. His shop is adorned with artwork he has done over the years and some of them are available to purchase. The inside of this tattoo studio is very warm and inviting and the entire staff is welcoming and friendly. My search for the best tattoo artist (and yes, Kirk is a true artist) is over. I've had 4 different tattooists work on my body but Kirk is the best. I won't settle for anyone else. The proof is in the comments I get from people who see his work on my art. A bonus: Kirk is a very personable, kind, funny, enjoyable person to spend time with! I have yet to have work done in his new studio, but I was honored to attend his open house; his studio is immaculate, clean, well decorated, impressive! Kirk takes all the precautions and I trust him 100% to keep me safe as well as artistically decorated like no other. This may be an over-the-top review, but I speak the truth. A while back I was doing research because I wanted to get a tattoo. I was looking around several places and looking at their work. I lost my Grandfather over a year ago and I wanted something to always have and he always used to tell me stories of how words came from Latin. So I decided on the Latin word . I contacted Kirk since he had a nice style to his artwork and he was really enthusiastic about it and we met up even when he was busy, He was really knowledgeable and we spoke and looked up different lettering and then we made an appointment for another day. Fast forward and I walked in and he was really cool about everything, told me what to expect, especially since this was my first time getting tattooed and even told me to let him know if I felt uncomfortable to let him know. We would be taking breaks and so forth. He measured everything and showed me and I was happy. Of course it is a tattoo and it did hurt lol but I was not expecting a massage. We took our breaks and some hours later I got through it and I was so happy I plan on continuing to get more work from him when I know exactly what I want and where the placement will be. What really had the icing on the cake was he told me that if I needed help on a design to let him know and he would help me figure it out to where I will be happy. Top it off he also paints and has a lot of his artwork around the studio which is really cool. read more

Established in 2020.

This art and design studio is the conception of renowned tattoo artist Kirk Alley and his longtime friend, singer/pianist/entrepreneur Guy Maeda. Kirk Alley has been a tattoo fine artist for over 25 years. Kirk's body of work has been featured in many tattoo magazines and articles from around the world, such as Twisted Ink, Tattoo, Inked Magazine, Skin Deep, Tattoo Master, Inked Brazil and Total Tattoo. He has tattooed famous musicians, celebrities and politicians including Slash from Guns and Roses, Kristine Bauer Van Stratton from the popular HBO series True Blood, horror film actress Danielle Harris, LA Councilman Mike Hernandez, comedian Martin Lawrence, and the infamous Stormy Daniels. His tattoos for the past few years have been featured on TV ads on The Discovery Channel for Shark Week, and he has a strong social media presence with close to 500,000 followers worldwide. Guy Maeda has been a professional singer/pianist/entrepreneur for over 40 years. He has sung on hundreds of movies, TV shows, recordings, commercials and live concerts. Over the years, he has performed with a wide variety of recording artists ranging from Justin Timberlake, Muse, Mary J Blige, Chris Stapleton, Kirk Franklin, U2, Adele, Beyoncé and Red Hot Chile Peppers to Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban and John Denver. He owned and operated a successful boutique record company for over 12 years. My partner and I came in to return a jewelry piece he surprised me with as a gift. I didn't even open the clear jewelry case since I immediately knew this septum ring was too large for me to wear. We clearly told the lady behind the register that we were there to exchange or return the piece. She tells us to wait for the piercer since others were waiting ahead of us. After waiting for over a half hour, I asked again, "do we really have to wait for the piercer to return this piece???" She said the piercer handles the jewelry. We were there for a total of at least 50 minutes! The piercer finally comes to us and tells us that jewelry cannot be returned after it leaves the shop. Why didn't the lady sitting behind the register give us this information as soon as we told her why we came in to the shop, instead of making us wait for almost an hour to just be extremely disappointed after speaking with the piercer? This place sucks, no respect and no consideration for patrons' valuable time. I have never been to a tattoo and piercing shop where the person at the register doesn't have basic knowledge on the shop's jewelry "policies" Back story: my partner goes in to this shop to surprise me with a septum ring. Another piercer helps him with picking out the jewelry. Bless my partner's heart but he knows nothing about piercings. He shows the piercer a photo of what I usually wear and somehow they pick out a piece that's triple the size of what I wear. The piercer never told my partner that jewelry is final sale. This place is an absolute disappointment and not helpful at all! Buy your jewelry somewhere else and go to a shop where everyone in the establishment values you as a customer!

It went into as far as telling to consider how I'm profiled in society because of a neck tattoo. I'm a Black Queer Man living in America. Although well intended, I don't need someone at the peek of the social totem pole telling me about being "profiled" in this country. Again, really don't have an issue with refusing to do the service. I know it was well intended. But I don't need a tone deaf conversation when I'm calling to get a quote on a tattoo.

If your looking an amazing artist that is well versed in all styles and has been in the industry a long time then this artist and studio is for you. Kirk is working on a Traditional Japanese Dragon sleeve for me. Kirk's attention to detail is top of the line. Not only is Kirk a bad ass tattoo artist but his paintings are off the wall.
