I LOVE ZANDERRRRR!! He's an amazing and attentive piercer! My septum piercing was painless & quick. He took his time explaining every step even helping me pick the jewelry. He also explained after care and other tips that would be helpful for me. I feel absolutely happy with the results and I feel so amazing! Thanks Zander!!!! Also, the whole place is an absolute vibe. I love all the amazing pieces on the walls and the cleanliness of the space as well. Highly recommend! As a heads up, parking can be a little hard depending on the time you go since it's a popular street; so you might have to search and/or pay for parking. Either way, worth it!
Absolutely loved my first time at this shop. Storm did an amazing job and I'm going back for more. I wanted to fill some of the space in my arm and Storm was able to come up with a design that I fell in love with. They had a variation of designs that I could look at and I picked my favorite. They had a vision and modified the design to fit my existing tattoos. Everyone at the shop was respectful and nice. The vibes were great, no aggression or weird people here. The music was also on point! Basically this is a great tattoo shop. It is super clean and everyone is friendly.
I had two session with Chris for a Zeus piece recently and wasn't very happy with they way it was turning out. I wasn't getting what I was hoping for and envisioning. We had two sessions and I wasn't pleased with what we had. The second session we only tattooed for 3 hours max! It felt rushed. I don't think that's fair for me as a customer, especially after spending my time and my money there. Coming for a 3rd session and possibly coming back for a 4th wasn't an option for me. I had to go somewhere else to finish the tattoo and I am very pleased with the end result. I've been tattooed at the Dolorosa before by Chris and Tony. Everyone at the shop is very friendly and I had a great experience. This time I didn't get the quality of work I was used to.
Came here to get some Friday the 13th tattoos. Even just waiting for them to open was chill just vibing with others seeing what they are gunna get. Then everyone who worked there was beyond nice and amazing. The prices were good and for just $50 more buck you were able to add color. My partner and I both got tattoos and our tattoo artists (Andrew & Dan)were really dope. Like would definitely get more from them. Even showing our friends, they mentioned that they've gotten tatted from there themselves. So now we're all planning to go to the next F13 event . Love that this place is so close to the house. Such a hidden gem.
i looovee this place so much! it's the only tattoo shop i go to for tattoos and piercings! it's a very small shop in the city that has street parking. the atmosphere is such a vibe when you walk in. music is always bumpinn it's so sweet of them to add varieties of snacks to their clients that is placed on the receptions desks. everyone that works in this tattoo shop are so welcoming with such lovely attitudes! you can really tell just by their energy they love what they do. shout out to dan for being the only tattoo artists i trusts! his energy and bright smile feels so welcoming. he is such a friendly person! i can really sense he loves what he does. dan is a very good listener when it comes to the tattoos i want. i love that he always brings his own ideas and suggestions to the table. one good quality dan has as a tattoo artists is comforting their clients and assuring them that they are okay. i love how dan checks up on me to make sure im doing good while he is tattooing me. a caring tattoo artists is very important to me. my first tattoo i got with dan was a small blue heart. it came out very beautiful. my second tattoo was the butterfly with an eye on my forearm. literally my favorite tattoo! he did such an amazing job. my third tattoo is my mom name on my right arm. my fourth tattoo is my favorite angel number. (444) i loove all of my tattooos!!! i would also like to give a shout out to zander! such a unique soul ive ever met. a bubbly personality that's so contagious! i looove it! i haven't gotten a piercing in awhile and decided to get the tragus. i love the end result. zander is very knowledgeable at what he does! he was so informative and helpful. he really made me feel so comfortable. the process of getting my tragus pierced was quick, easy, and painless. thaankyouu soo much for the free piercing cleaner! also gave me one to use in the shower. i love how he informs you to come in for a check up to make sure your piercing is healing well. once you find a good spot with good people you wouldn't want to go anywhere else!
Although parking is hectic, it works out well so listen to the shop and take their advice! We got street parking close by so it worked out. Atrina LIZZ is amazing! Super calming and chill to talk to. Had her stuff ready and we finished within an hour. The line work took longest and felt that sharp scalpel like pain but the killing in wasn't painful at all. Felt more like a Phillips head screw driver poking at me. Very chill and easy to deal with. Atrina chatted with me pleasantly, seriously; BEST FIRST TATTOO EXPERIENCE EVER!! Thank you so much and the shop is calming, fun, and very cool with beautiful art on the walls!
Still absolutely love this place, got another tattoo but with Johnny at the Echo Park location. I've always wanted to get tattooed by him as he does the spooky stuff. Love it and I'm going to keep coming back!

I went in for a Septum piercing and was so terrified that I went in the day before just to ask questions and look at the jewelry. Marv, one of the piercers, was there and not only was he incredibly reassuring, but he was also hilarious. I got no sleep the night before because I was so scared it was gonna be so painful. But, he, again, reassured me by letting me know that this is the piercing that put him on the map. So when it finally came time, he did it so fast that all I felt was a slight pinch. It did not hurt much AT ALL. A 2 outta 10 I would say. Anyway, if you are in the area and want to get a piercing, Marv's your guy! read more

WOW!!! What an incredible experience! Do yourself a favor and go see Anne for tattoos and Marv for piercings! We walked in with no appointment and they were able to see us right away and were so kind and so helpful and very patient with making sure we got what we wanted. They are both so fun to talk to and had us laughing so much. It wasn't just getting a tattoo and a piercing, It was seriously a whole experience. I can't wait to go back to see them both again for more work. The place itself was clean, taken care of, organized, great music, just really good vibes. read more

I am so disappointed about my situation with this shop. I've had a total of 4 tattoos done here and it looks like my 4th will be my last. I had an appointment with Luis on May 4th for the initial session. He ended up being 2 hours late to the appointment. Okay. Not great but things happen. He finishes the tattoo very quickly and almost rushed. It initially looked great! (I'll attach pictures). However, within a few days, the tattoo began to fade. And I don't mean healing fade. Like fade fade. I figure I'll give it two months to let it fully heal to see if maybe it'll somehow even out. I had to visit family and finally got around to making an appointment for this week. I even used the same email thread I used to make the appointment so they would have a reference for who I am. I show up to the Studio City location today for my 5 pm touch up with Luis only to be told that he's at the Echo Park location......... The girls at the shop call him and he tells them that he's "willing to stick around" if I want to drive to Echo Park during rush hour traffic. As you can see in the emails, at no point was I informed I'd need to go to the other location. I even waited 3 hours after the mixup to see if someone from the shop would email and apologize and offer a new appointment but...crickets. This whole situation has been an absolute mess. The quality of the tattoo is bad, the communication was bad....just all around bad. I am truly so disappointed because every other tattoo I've gotten here has been great! But those were 3 years ago so maybe things have changed. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to find a different artist at another shop and spend more money just to touch this up. *UPDATE!* So the shop reached out to me with a very kind email and offered that Chris, the owner, touch up the piece free of charge. Chris was super cool and I was able to see him days later. It was very kind of them to do it and I appreciate it! My girl looks great now! read more

My sister and have recently started a tradition of picking up a new piece when we travel. From inquiry to completion this shop and it's staff were top notch. Everyone was so responsive and nice. Alix was amazing, friendly, and had the lightest touch! My sister got her tattoo on her foot (IYKYK) and she barely flinched. The artwork wasn't anything crazy, but he was detailed ensuring the lines were perfect! He even was able yo touch up another small tattoo on my sister. We were both so happy. read more

I can't thank you guys enough! For starters I called in at 11:30am (not realizing they were closed) and amazing person named Ame picked up the phone and was so kind and asked what I was looking to do. I was looking to do a half sleeve same day which is such a long shot but It was worth a try! She told me they weren't open yet but as soon as a tattoo artist comes in she would pass my info along. I am so thankful she picked up before they were open that shows a lot of character. Sure enough an hour later Ame contacts me and tells me to come by the shop. I was in shock! A same day cover up sleeve? Thats un heard of! I showed up and was greeted by the artist User. He was so awesome, so chill, so accommodating, and a genuinely great person. He did a same day cover up half sleeve for me. He spent a couple hours drawing it on the spot and 8 hours with me and he absolutely crushed it! Super talented , humble and down to earth. I cant thank this team enough for their hospitality, tentativeness, and all around awesomeness! Much love to all of you! read more

I came to Allen Dabbs for my helix piercing two weeks ago. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. It was the best piercing experience I have ever had and I have been to many piercing studios. He was incredibly knowledgeable, made me feel relaxed, he was very friendly and answered all my questions clearly and concisely. Michael did an incredible job on my tattoo - he didn't rush me at all as we sat down and talked about how I'd like my tattoo done on my arm, we talked about sizing, spacing, and he suggested some shading on it. One we got going Michael was so nice and friendly and the hour flew by! It turned out better than I ever could have imagined and I would highly recommend everyone go see him! I'd also like to give a shout out to Anne who helped me book the appointment. I was coming in from San Francisco for the weekend of my tattoo and since I could come in early for a consultation she walked me through everything over email and was incredibly helpful as I had to go back and forth a few times about the design, timing, and date. After hours of searching for that right tattoo shop, I decided on Dolorosa Tattoo Co. in Studio City. I met with Tony, a very cool cat I must say. I just wanted a very simple cursive "L" tattooed on my ring finger. I don't wear jewelry, wedding rings included. I've been married to my wife for almost 37 years and counting. It was time to put something on my ring finger. I called right when they opened, I asked if I could just walk in for a quick tat. I was told they had a walk-in opening, first come, first served. I was on my way. Made it on time and I was politely dealt with on the spot. Tony copied my wife's "L" from her signature and transferred it to my ring finger in no time at all. Voila~We were done in 10 minutes. Thanks to Tony for a fine job on a quick tat. My wife loves it and that's what counts. I will say, this shop is very popular, the line was out the door! read more

I called in spontaneously for a small minimalist cupcake and my tattoo artist was AMAZING. His name was Dan. Very clean, talented, funny, guy. He almost knew exactly what I wanted and helped find a perfect placement. I'm so glad I went to this tattoo parlor. Definitely worth the drive and absolutely felt no pain. The shop/ her assistant was also a sweetheart she set me up with numbing cream which I will never go without and also answered all my questions. Everyone there was super sweet!
