I always go for their events & it's always such a please to see the staff there doing what they love. Manny is the tattoo artist I always go with as he's a great guy, patient, knows what he's doing, & has really nice hand work. This past time I went for the New Year Flash Sale & it's $40+ depending on the design & it's only shoulder to wrist or thigh to ankle (for flash sale events). It's all laid out on the flash sheets they have the day of. Many designs to choose from & this time around they have mastered the art of organization. If you follow them on instagram they post a couple days in advance about their flash sale events which are usually for major holidays. From my knowledge their minimum is $80 & it's a great price & fair compared to other shops. The music is always great, the vibes are immaculate, & the artists & staff are a pleasure to be around. I'm going back again aside from the events they have to get a tattoo dedicated to a family member & Manny is helping me with the design & I can't wait to see the final result. Ok this one is for the man Manny! He was professional, polite, honest opinion, lighter handed, awesome character and vibe for sure! Four of us Ladies came in for some ink to add. It was spontaneous, we came in after work/dinner ready with ideas that we air dropped to him after filling out paper work. There was one client before us four and he well served by attending to all of us equally. Everything was clean and the tunes fit the evening so we were jamming out on his only downloaded playlist because the WiFi was out, but he had an external extension. We did call ahead of time and was given the shop minimum which is affordable for the size we all choose, including placement. Cash, Car, Apple and Google pay accepted. Street parking next to and across the street. Def will be our regular but spontaneous spot to hit after a long day !!!! We were, what felt like being, in and out in two and half hours and that included waiting for the client who was there prior! He truly is a fantastic representation of Ink Sessions Tattoo! I take tattoos very seriously. My tattoos are pure art and each tell a symbolic story. This sounds cheesy but it is my reality. Plus, I've been featured in magazines such as Inked... so my tattoos have to look good! For my 30th birthday, I planned to get a new tattoo to kick off my 'Dirty Thirty' festivities. I needed a new tattoo artist/shop which included research and the use of Yelp. That is the path which led me to Ink Sessions... I live about a mile from Ink Sessions and have driven past the shop what feels like thousands of times. I have always seen the sign on the facade that screamed: "Voted the best tattoo shop in LA!" or something along that nature. My boyfriend and I always laughed at the audacity to make such a claim. Well, I take it back. Having visited a few other shops to talk to artists and get quotes (my tattoo was already drawn out by my boyfriend so I didn't need an artist to do that legwork); Ink Sessions was my last visit. Saving the best for last. I walked into a clean shop and immediately spoke to Marco. Unknowingly, Marco was the artist who created the tattoos I have already pinpointed being in love with here on Yelp and in their Facebook photos. Marco had an instant amazing energy. He was zen and professional but also friendly and clearly knew his craft. He was honest about his skill level (my tattoos are all black and grey with shading which not every artist is that great at). I was in love in him. I KNEW this was the guy. Best of all? His price quote was terrific! I insisted on putting a deposit down to make an appointment 3 weeks ahead of time which Marco said isn't necessary but I NEEDED to make sure I would have a time slot on the Friday night before my birthday. I had to finalize though before I put down the deposit. I returned a few days later with my deposit (Note: Ink Sessions is CASH ONLY!) and Marco was all smiles and genuinely seemed happy to see me. I was definitely feeling good about my decision to patron Ink Sessions. So how did my tattoo go? I entered the shop a little before my appointed time as Marco had to take my drawing and scan it, reduce it, etc. I was getting a little apprehensive because he was taking quite a long time to set-up even though he didn't have to actually sketch a drawing. Plus, the major issue at Ink Sessions is that there is no front desk person. So when clients come in (they had a TON of walk-ins that night); these walk-in clients demand attention and Marco had to stop what he was doing to attend to them. It was a little annoying and disconcerting because I had an appointment and yet I was the one waiting versus these people who walked in! Not cool. Perhaps Ink Sessions should hire someone to man the counter (I'll do it!). My appointment was at 5pm but Marco didn't begin until after 6. Despite these initial worries, the tattoo went great. Marco' s amazing energy prevailed. We had an amazing conversation throughout the tattoo, there was very little pain (although I don't think tattoos hurt anyway), and I was genuinely laughing the whole time. It was like hanging out with a friend! Plus, Marco is amazing and asks you if there is anything you are unhappy with and need fixed and/or changed! I have never had an artist ask me that and I was very pleased. Long story short, my tattoo is beyond wonderful and exactly what I envisioned! To sum it up, Ink Sessions is near- perfect. The shop is super clean (one of the cleanest I have seen in LA) with even a scented oil plug-in near the front counter! Their professionalism is markedly great and Marco is a genius. Not only is he a gifted artist but a humble and all-around great guy. I definitely found my shop and tattoo artist for all of my upcoming tattoos! So, a little cocky or not, the sign claiming Ink Sessions to be the best shop in LA is not that far off... read more

Went in to get my nose pierced about 2 weeks ago and I was a nervous wreck. My tolerance for pain is pretty low and all I could think about was how much it was going to hurt lol. Went in and Chris was very understanding, patient and super nice from the second I walked in the door. He was knowledgable giving a clear idea of how the process was gonna go, how to keep it clean, healing process etc... and even gave me an idea of how it would look. Soooo, the piercing didn't hurt at all lol, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that. I didn't even know that the needle had been pushed through. 2 weeks later, I even forget it's there sometimes lol. It's super cute and I love it. Had an absolutely amazing experience with Manny yesterday. My husband and I wanted to both get tattoos. We described to him what we wanted and he sketched out our ideas. They are two very different tattoos and his sketches were both spot on. There's always that moment of asking yourself how you're going to tell the artist that their sketch isn't really what you wanted and when Manny showed them to us we were shocked. I've been here twice before and I'm going by my third experience that I just had. I came in to inquire about getting TWO small initials tattooed on me. I was greeted by Sal who was nice enough but when I asked him how much for just that, he told me $40. Uh, no thanks. What a rip off. That's what they charged me for a larger tattoo. I don't get it, a lot of these parlors are like this, like they want customers, but when they get them, they seem like they don't even want your business. I will take my business elsewhere. I could not recommend an experience better. My first tattoo was treated with respect. The perfect artist showed me that I will get more tattoos and that they are a beautiful expression of creation. Falling in love with Germany and learning a language when I was 21 was a dream come true. 'Wenn Schon Denn Schon' across my arms was sized, fonted and styled in a way that I will always be proud of it. If you live right, once is enough. This celebration deserves a tattoo. My eighteenth happened a few weeks ago and I wanted to get my first tattoo but I was completely unaware of the entire process. I looked around to a different couple of artists but ultimately decided with Sal. I messaged the shop on Yelp, and Chris answered pretty quickly and helped me out, before I called to make an appointment. Sal was extremely helpful and worked with me the entire way. No matter what changes I wanted done to my outline, he gave me his advice and accommodated what I wanted. When the actual day came around, he helped calmed me nerves and had played a movie so I had something else to focus on while he was tattooing. I did get to briefly meet one of the other artists, can't recall his name, and Chris and everyone was really nice. Getting the tattoo done took about an hour and a half.
