Their other instructors - these are the guys I wish coached him in (some of) his other sports growing up. They are supportive, approachable, fun, and friendly. Yeah, sometimes it's too much for a kid, but they aren't getting yelled at, they aren't getting thrown into a gauntlet, they aren't getting picked on. They're being pushed in a positive manner. Hanging around, it's clear how friendly the people attending the other classes are, as well, which just speaks to the vibe of the place. Plain and simple, when my son hits adult classes, I plan on attending with him.

Tonight we were parked in and instead of unloading my 3 young children I elected to call the number listed on the website. I called 6 times to no answer. The folks in the gym ended up helping me get it resolved-however I got a return call from the gym about an hour later. Where the gentleman on the phone was condescending and dismissive stating that having the phone not ring to the front desk has "worded for 10 years now". Parents with young kids I would find another gym to take your family. One that has better parking and better time for class offerings.

It's old school, but clean as a whistle and such a professional atmosphere. "Old school" in the sense it's minimalist because you don't need a lot of fancy equipment for your coach to teach you martial arts. Also "old school" because the coaches are professionally trained - clearly taking mutual respect for coach and student as well as seriousness of your training program to heart. But - they meet you where you are - just push you to be your best. Here's my personal example: In California, I used to box in a micro gym (pre-COVID) then I had a personal trainer that I had to let go. Since November I have not been able to find a replacement. I came to Ohio for the fall and by happenstance landed here for a trial class. Bob gave me a full hour of mitts and noodles and got me back to training with the patience of a saint and the teachings of an expert. I have only been practicing a short time. There are some things that I am very educated on such as customer service, good people, and passionate individuals. This place checks all of those boxes. I was in the area for work and prior to my visit, I emailed the website asking about "drop ins". In probably an hour I received a very welcoming reply with the class schedule and asking about my abilities so I wouldn't be in over my head. BJ greeted me, showed me around, and got me set up for the Basics course that was taught by Tyler.
