My parents stair lift broke and I needed it repaired. Called many places and 101 Mobility was by far the most responsive and reasonable. Some places would only service if they installed it. They were thorough at troubleshooting over the phone. Ultimately we needed someone to come out and look at it and the technician, Jack, was a rock star. My parents were extremely pleased. They came and measured my stairway for an elevator and said it would be no problem and gave me a quote of $46000. My own contractor came and began prep work and questioned as to how they would put it in the area. I called to report this and they came back and remeasured it And they said it would be a lot more work and a lot more money. I said this was not acceptable as they had given me an estimate already And after this my phone calls were hung up repeatedly Until FINALLY I received a message saying they would return my $2000 deposit. Here's an update over a year later: We just discovered that the chair lift 101 Mobility sold us had its manufacture date and serial number REMOVED before delivery! Here's a photograph: https://i.imgur.com/9csfXYh.jpg We suspect, but obviously cannot prove, that 101 Mobility sold us a used chair lift and passed it off as new. Think about it: Many of these lifts are used for a relatively short time before the elder person who uses it passes away. So there must be a supply of used chair lifts out there. Now I think I've worked out what happens to them. Contacting the Mass Attorney General to file a complaint soon. If you buy anything from 101 Mobilty I strongly recommend that you verify that it had a serial number and that you check with the manufacturer that you are the original owner. read more

101 came right out and installed a wheelchair ramp for my mom at our house. Technician came right out early and installation didn't take long at all. Very happy with the service. Now my mom can get out of her house with ease and not have to stay inside because of no ramp. read more

We went with them because they seemed like they really new what they were doing but boy were we wrong. This company is an absolute joke. The supposed lead installer, Jack, was an absolute hack. Installed a ramp and a stairlift. Had to come back to adjust the ramp to the 1-12 pitch that we specifically asked for and was on his install manual. He couldn't understand that it had to drop 1" for every 12" run off of the starting level plain. He even tried to tell me that it was fine to leave as it sit because a 1-10 pitch was allowable in Massachusetts, even though we paid for a 1-12. I cut my hand open on the rail joints because none of the cuts were filed down. Then with the stairlift, it is installed so poorly that we are removing it and going with Acorn instead. They never put any wall supports on the upright supports which allows it to now bow off the wall once it has the weight of a person on it. It grinds loudly the entire way up and hops over each seam in the railing. The teeth are completely exposed with a white grease all over it. At the top when the chair turns you slam your knee into the banister because it ends 15" shorter than it was supposed to. To top it all off they are trying to say that we won't get our deposit on the lift back because they believe it is installed properly. They will be in for a ride awakening with that thought. I never would want to see someone put in this unsafe situation by these people. Please go with someone else for the safety of the person who will be using this equipment read more

I was highly satisfied with how 101 mobility handled my questions, helped to design the installation of my home chairlift and installed it. Very professional and pleasant to deal with. When my circumstances later changed and I did not need the lift any longer, they removed it, leaving no trace. I wish every business was as good to deal with! I called 101 Mobility for a stair lift rental for a relative and expected to have to wait a few days for someone to come out to look at the home. (BTW: not all companies come out to the house. One company wanted us to measure and send them the specs...what??) Christina was on her way to RI, but was willing to see us in MA on her return that evening. We opted for the next day. She was pleasant, knowledgeable, professional, and NOT pushy. She took all of the stress out of such an important decision. We ended up renting two stair lifts and they were installed two days later. The technicians, were neat, polite, and knowledgeable. They were also very patient with all of the questions and they made sure that the patient rode in the lift before they left. From start to finish...receptionist to installer, we were very pleased with the service and highly recommend this company. read more

The actual inspection of our wheelchair lift was fine. Inspections are required once a year, and must have a state inspector present. The 101 Mobility technicians (2 were sent) were expected one hour before the state inspector was scheduled to arrive, to assess any potential issues. They showed up 20 minutes before the inspector. Luckily, there were no serious problems. The actual *official* inspection of the little-used lift that raises only about five feet from ground level took just a few minutes as the state rep looked on. Then, the three of them spent about 40 minutes "chatting" about non-work related topics. When I went out to see what was going on, I was told we passed inspection but needed a new battery...which they did not have with them. I had to wait another hour for one of the technicians to come back and install the new battery. The techs were very pleasant, and did a fine job, but the real issue is the state-mandated process and associated cost - about $1,200 total (including the $400 state fee). For a small non-profit, that's a huge expense. And considering the amount of time actually spent working on the lift, we found the cost to be excessive. read more
