Getting my window smashed after a nice night out was a bummer, and having to sort it out the next day was a sort of stressful proposition as well for me. I was told to check out Safelite, and was pretty disappointed with their $330 quote for my rear passenger door window, as well as the two week wait time to get in. I looked on Yelp and found 101 pretty quickly and definitely don't regret calling them. Chantos was amazing. I called and he said he could show up at my house in 20 minutes with the glass I needed and would charge half what Safelite quoted me. He showed up in less than the 20 he said and went to work. He had installed the new glass and cleaned my car of the glass left from the initial smashing in about 30 minutes, all while being incredibly friendly. AMAZING! I'll keep it short. Some douchebag smashed my rear windshield while I was in Oakland on Saturday night, so I needed to get that fixed ASAP! Pluses: 1) Best price around! He initially offered $400 for parts, labor, tax, etc., but I asked if he could do $375 (the price of a competitor). Without even hesitating, he happily accepts my offer! So respectful. 2) Super responsive and available! I left a message on Sunday morning, expecting a call back on Monday. Nope! Within an hour, he calls me back, and I've got myself an appointment for MONDAY. 3) Very professional and skilled! This is the BEST glass guy I've found. I'm a Bay Area local, and have had occasion to have my windows and windshield replaced. Today at around 7:45am I was driving on the freeway and a rock flew up and completely smashed my windshield. I called 101 and even though he didn't open until 8am, literally 25 min later my windshield was off and being replaced. Amazing work, with a warranty and everything. Got my rear door window broken on my SUV. I called in the morning at around 8:30 and set up an appointment for 10:30. There isn't much more I can add to the earlier reviews, but I'll say it anyway: Chantos' work in replacing my windshield was EXCEPTIONAL, detail oriented, and professional. He worked super fast, had the most competitive price, and was able to install the windshield at my location without issues. My truck is one of the older models which uses a gasket to secure the glass, and other places I called wanted to charge me extra to replace the gasket. Chantos was able to remove the old glass without damaging the gasket and thus saved me at least $50 bucks in the process. And yes, he was very friendly and cheerful throughout the entire repair. He doesn't advertise, so I hope these reviews get to others via word of mouth as much as possible. read more

Chantos is great. I had to have the rear slider window replaced in my Toyota Tacoma. Chantos arrived promptly and worked quickly to replace the window. It is obvious that he takes pride is his work, and works with great care. He went above and beyond what he had to do, replacing a screw that I didn't know was missing, and pointing out that one of the bolds securing my camper needed to be replaced. He's the perfect combination of friendly and professional and his prices are fantastic. I often fear that people will take advantage of my ignorance regarding cars. And that's what happened! But not by Chantos. After my first windshield repair (not done by 101 Auto Glass), I noticed that it looked more rounded and definitely weird. Additionally, my windshield wipers wouldn't work so well--even after replacing them. I shrugged it off not trusting my own judgement. Many years later, that "weird" windshield got a pretty large crack in it and I called Chantos to repair it. He informed me that the last time I got my windshield replaced, someone basically ripped me off by giving me a defective windshield. I paid double the price Chanto charged me for that defective windshield... In summary, I definitely trust Chanto and would recommend him to anyone.
