I contacted these people to set up an appointment to cover up a fairly small scar. The website seemed pretty interesting and professional. That couldn't be further from the truth. They asked for pictures of my scar and pictures of what I was thinking of putting over it. The reply I received was so utterly pretentious that I am astonished. Apparently, the "artist" will be selecting submissions "by lottery" and they MIGHT get back to me by August (It is currently mid-January)! I don't know if they just didn't like my ideas and couldn't come up with any original ideas, or if they are just soooo very busy that there are absolutely no openings for the next 8 months.... I am incredibly disappointed with their elitist attitudes and, honestly, my feelings are rather hurt. read more

This was my 2nd tattoo and long overdue, almost 50yrs. It represents my time in the Army as a Paratrooper Military Policeman. It took me years to come up with a design and wanted it done right. When I went to 1001 Troubles Tattoo, I was warmly met by this young lady, Sarah Parent, who assumed me that she would do me right. After submitting my design, Sarah went to work and provided me with a rendering. I was confident that she could do the job right. I was blown away with the result. Sarah really knocked it out of the park. I highly recommend Sarah Parent and 1001 Troubles Tattoo in Warren, RI. read more

I've now done two portrait sessions with Dani. She is beyond talented in what she does. I love both pieces. Beyond that, she's just a really good person to chat with while getting the work done. 8ish hours total with her and she never skips a beat. Any future work will be with her, I can't say enough nice things about her and the staff at the shop. Very friendly people, super clean and laid back atmosphere. read more

My first visit here yesterday. I've been "collecting" tats for 30 years. Had a consult first a week before with Charity. Everyone here, from front desk to the several artists I spoke to, have been very friendly and helpful. Charity is a skilled artist with a steady hand and amazing down to earth personality. She added on to an existing tattoo I had, creating a tribute to a close friend who recently passed. I am very pleased with the finished product and my friends family were touched with the thoughtful memorial and the quality of the work. I highly recommend this business and the artists who work here read more

I highly recommend 1001 Troubles. Michelle is the artist I go to and she is wonderful to work with. At my appointments I brought pictures of what I wanted and she offered great suggestions regarding placement and color choices, and the work was beautiful. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, and any questions I had when booking my appointment were answered promptly. 1001Troubles is definitely the shop to check out if you're looking for talented artists with different styles! read more

Decided to join the inked life and got my first tattoo. Brought an idea i have had for years to Michelle. She took my vision and brought it to life. Only what she created was even more beautiful and badass than my mind was capable of imagining. She is one of the owners of the shop which is extremely clean, and the other artists are welcoming. Michelle is professional, great at what she does, and truly a gifted artist. Those who compliment my half sleeve are amazed by the attention to detail and beauty of the color choices. Most importantly I love my tattoo. read more

Let me preface this review by saying I did NOT get a tattoo at 1001 troubles (yet) but that is why they are deserving of this review... Let me explain: I have a large scar covering nearly my whole right thigh, a scar I'm quite self conscious about, which led me to the decision to get a large tattoo to cover it. I have 4 small tattoos in more discrete areas so this would be my first large piece. I had a consultation with Fredd who was beyond thorough in gathering all my ideas for my tattoo. He spent around 45 minutes writing down my likes, dislikes, etc. regarding what I wanted for my piece. I felt super confident in his artistic abilities and booked my appointment a few months out in June. As the date of my appointment crept closer I got more and more hesitant about the idea of having such a large piece in such a visible area, but of course showed up to my appointment, eager to get over my fears and go for it. Fredd showed me his BEAUTIFUL design he came up with for me, that had the perfect combination of elements we talked about. While the design everything I could have hoped for, the size and placement was not, (which was only a result of my desire to hide my scar). Fredd and his wife at the desk could see I was unsure and he offered to stencil it so I could see what it looked like. After the stencil, (and another stencil) I just couldn't pull the trigger and Fredd gave me a week to think about it which was more than generous. The week passed and as much as I hate looking at my scar, I still couldn't picture myself with such a large piece front and center. I messaged Fredd and he accepted my decision gracefully and kindly. I felt terrible about wasting a 4+ hour appointment, as well as hours spent on consultation and design, but no one at 1001 made me feel guilty or embarrassed about it. They met my insecurity with warm reassurance I was making the right decision and an invitation to get a different tattoo when I was ready. (Which I will most definitely be doing) While I don't NOT suggest setting up a tattoo appointment if you are hesitant, I would suggest going with 1001 troubles if this is your first tattoo and you are nervous about the process. Nothing but kindness coming from these guys, not to mention their artists are extremely talented and the shop is immaculate. Thanks again for your kindness and professionalism! read more

Great place!! I recently got a custom designed lotus mandala with Dani. I contacted the shop via email and booked a consultation. Had a consultation with Dani in the shop that was probably about 5 minutes told her my ideas and set up a Pinterest board with ideas before hand. I put a down payment of about $20 and booked a date for the appointment. I showed up about a week later and she had my design sketched out and I absolutely loved it. The appointment was about 3.5 hours in length. She filled in the design with shading. Dani is absolutely a genius. So talented and everyone at the shop is super friendly. I will definitely be returning for my next piece. read more

I had a really great experience at 1001 Troubles Tattoo. So much so, that I had to dig out my dusty YELP password to come and write a review. Everyone at 1001 Troubles Tattoo was professional, welcoming and very talented. I've been to other tattoo parlours where you're not even sure that they want to give you a tattoo. As soon as I walked into 1001 Troubles, I knew that everyone wanted to give me a tattoo I would love along with a really positive experience. I worked with the artist Dani Ryan who was fantastic. She incorporated everything I asked for into a beautiful tattoo. her line work is solid and she gave me a delicate yet bold tattoo of a bird in flight. She was super professional (like everyone I met) and I felt really relaxed the whole time even though I was getting a big tattoo on my ribs - ouch! She also fixed up a tattoo on my wrist which had been bothering me for awhile and made it look a lot better. Thanks to everyone at 1001 Troubles! read more

I had an amazing first tattoo experience with Charity! From start to finish, it was flawless! It being my first ink, I was INCREDIBLY nervous, but charity made the experience so relaxed and client centered. Charity walked me through the entire process and was happy to answer all of my questions. She handle my nerves with patience and kindness, something I didn't feel at other tattoo shops. The shop atmosphere felt so welcoming and fun. Everyone I interacted with was so genuine. My tattoo came out PERFECTLY!! It was exactly what I dreamed of! I felt so comfortable to share my vision with Charity and her easy going and down to earth personality was a joy to collaborate with. I am IN LOVE with my tattoo and I feel so happy to have something so meaningful to me on my body. Charity exceeded my expectations and I will never go to anyone else. If you have been thinking about getting a tattoo, whether your first or one of many, I highly recommend Charity. Her talent and humble professionalism is second to none. Thank thank thank you!! I am so happy I found Charity!! read more

I got my first big tattoo at 1001 Troubles last night with Fredd. The whole process was great. I had previously gone to a consultation at another studio and felt rushed and like the person was annoyed with me. Totally different experience here. Fredd took his time and really talked me through what I was looking for in this tattoo. He was so nice and friendly and understanding. So great to work with from the beginning. Last night I went in for my tattoo, and I am beyond happy with the finished piece. It is so gorgeous. More beautiful than I imagined it would be. Fredd took what I told him and did an amazing job turning it into a beautiful piece of art. He is very talented artist and I will definitely be going back and recommending to all of my friends! read more

I went into 1001 troubles with excitement over getting my first tattoo. I talked to fredd (who was in the middle of an appointment which I totally understand) and he could not have been more cold and irritated. I was a bit awkward because as I said this is my first tattoo, and he acted as if I was interrupting and an inconvenience. I was told I would be put on a waiting list, which is perfectly fine with me. I understand artists are busy, but I was told I would get a call or email around the middle of December and it is now the end of February. I will definitely not be going back to this shop, very unwelcoming place. read more

I was excited to get a chest piece done there by Thomas Harris. I had to reschedule once due to travel & the second scheduled appointment had to be canceled due to a snow storm. Thomas called me before I could call him and he said he would call me a week later to reschedule. I told him that was fine and it was for the better because I was traveling. I never got a call back and ended up going in to talk to him. He told me that I lost my deposit due to the fact that I was traveling. Even though there was a huge snow storm and he had to cancel anyway. I don't understand how I lost my deposit for not being available when there were other factors that had to cancel the appointment anyway. So I will not be going back there, ever. Terrible customer service. read more

amazing place...everyone is professional and Dani is the best! Will not go to another artist ever again! Thanks Dani!!!!

This place is so cute, friendly and professional. It's the only tattoo shop I've ever been into that has a designated person at the front desk. The work they put out is killer too. Check out their work on Instagram, you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended! read more
