I've had 100 Montaditos in NYC. It wasn't until I showed up in Spain did I realize that it's actually a Spanish chain. Makes sense though. So when I saw this place, I definitely wanted to try it because: 1. I wanted to see what the difference would be 2. There weren't much better options in the airport 3. I wasn't that hungry so I knew I could get a couple of small sammies and I would be good The first thing you should know, is that the whole place just has this dirty feeling to it. If you can get past that, they have small sandwiches ranging from 1-4 Euros. Not very good sandwiches, albeit, but sandwiches nonetheless - which are enough to fill you up. If that's still not you're thing, they have beers for about 3 Euros. Can never go wrong with beer!

Great little sandwiches. They are small, so order at least 2. I got 1 with Jamon and 1 with Tortilla. Both were good.

I walked by the night before we had dinner and it was packed, so I decided to have dinner the following night. We arrived at 8pm. The restaurant was full by the time we left (around 10). We had a bottle of red wine, Grilled octopus, Paella Valenciana, Tarta de dulce de leche, homemade pudding and coffee. I really enjoyed our dinner. I did not ask but I believe this is a family restaurant. Service was good. This restaurant is not geared toward tourists, so service can be improved. But that also makes food to be much better. Nonetheless I definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in the airport area. It is a short walk from any hotel near T1-T3.

On a Saturday night, I found few places open,  but in a the small area where La Latina was located,  there was definitely some activity worth checking out. Of those (and wasn't interested in a beer joint), I found La Latina the most active,  attractive and inviting.  The place was packed, but was seated at a good table in the back.  Great service,  a varied menu with some typical tapas selections and a number of other select options. With our beverages,  we enjoyed the typical gratis of olives and in this instance, more of that wonderful jamon Iberica. My daughter & I split an order of the Calamares. They were a half order & delicious as expected as they had been all along our previous weeks' journey. She was in the mood for a burger. La Latina offered up a very attractive burger, cooked just right & not too big on the size (good). The bite I had was really good. Me, I kept it sort of light. With the olives and calamares already, I was happy with a toast if bread, olive oil, tomato, anchovy & manchego. Paired with a beer, that hit all the taste buds just right. With the good service, upbeat & modern atmosphere + good eats, I'd certainly call this place 'fan worthy' and give it an easy 4 stars.

But on the way back we were pretty drunk so it didn't matter. It's a nice little Irish dive bar. Who would've thought Spain would have Irish bars? Also kind of reminded me of Cheers, the TV show. Well, our first night in Madrid after my buddy and i picked up our third buddy from the airport, we went straight to the bar to celebrate our arrival in Spain. We ordered shots and supposedly shots are called "chupitos" in Spain. The lady bartenders laughed at us. I think they were 3 or 4€s. After that we had beers, i think Heinekens which were 2€s. Nothing special. Just a good ol' Irish pub. We were excited that this place closed at 4am but then we realized that's just standard out in Spain.

The nachos we ordered had cold stadium type nacho cheese on them with a small side of artificial guacamole. The burger we ordered was incredibly rare to the point where we didn't know if that's how they do it in Spain or if they just don't know how to cook a hamburger. We gave up and ate the bread. Fish and chips were soggy but edible. Have a few drinks, the place is busy but don't eat the food.
