The atmosphere and setting is very relaxing. The service is fast and friendly. The food is good but different than you might expect. The brisket was more of a pot roast and the chicken sandwich was an average round patty one might find at a grocery store. The menu is very limited but they have a menu del dia for €14, which is a great price. The beer is quite good and they have about 10 different styles and types. I need to give credit where credit is due. Mad(drid) Brewing has an excellent Imperial IPA. Maybe it's because I'd been walking all day, or because I hadn't enjoyed an IPA in a while.. regardless it was a great beer. Their Imperial IPA pour is rich with a smooth intake that's slightly sweet followed by a very mild bitter finish. No overbearing piney or earthy taste. Just a superbly balanced beer. I also tried their lager, but I didn't get a second round. The bartenders were excellent and provided good service. To be honest, I enjoyed their Imperial enough to give my compliments to the brewer. Patatas and peanut mix were also a good pair to the beers. Just my thoughts, as someone who has consumed craft beers from across the United States. Check it out! read more

As aspiring craft beer snobs visiting a notoriously a wine-centric country, we put in an extra bit of leg work to find some local craft brews. So glad we did our research and ventured out to this neighborhood to experience this gem a somewhat reasonable walk from the Suanzes metro stop on the 5. The beer was quite good - nothing extraordinary, but all solid to excellent. The oatmeal IPA was a standout - the oat added a nice, smooth finish to the hoppy beer. The coffee stout was nice and strong (10.3%). A bit one-note, but when that note is great coffee, I'm not going to complain. Food was equally enjoyable, if not more so. Nachos were baked - warm and crispy and hearty, with great mix of chicken, guac, tomatoes and red onion - nothing like the blob of crap you often get back in the states. The Pollo negro à la stout was incredibly flavorful, with a dark beer sauce to pour over it. Our server, Alec, was incredibly friendly. My wife enjoyed exercising her Spanish and talking beer with him, and he helped us pick some bottles to go. He seemed legit pleased when we told him the place reminded us of the kind of cool, indie spot we love back home in Brooklyn (high praise indeed from Brooklyners)! read more

We're in Madrid for the night between flights, and just wanted some food, so this was a great find! A varied selection of beers, all nicely done, and the food was delicious. We shared a bunch of apps for the table--the standouts were the simplest: cured beef with pickles, a smashed baked potato and grilled vegetables with manchego. They seriously were the best vegetables I've had in a good while. Even my carnivore friend was getting down on them. The place is listed as not good for kids, but we were there around 6:30pm with my five year old and they were great with her. Maybe it gets raucous later; I don't know. read more

This is a great hidden gem in the area. We are staying at a hotel nearby to have quick access to the airport and it was a short drive away. The brewery is tucked away down a side street. Although we did not speak Spanish and the wait staff didn't speak English, they did their best to help us order. The menu is in Spanish only. read more

Reviews looked pretty good, so I took an evening and ventured out to Mad Brewing in southern Madrid. Philly Cheesesteak was different than I expected, but excellent! Lots of interesting beers on tap as well. They don't really do flights, but do sell smaller glasses of their offerings. All were great. Since I will be here a while, I will definitely be back to try more menu items. read more

This brewery takes a little work to get to as it is in a more industrial part of Madrid and a bit of a walk from the nearest Metro station, but it is definitely worth the trek! They brew their beers on site, and all of the beers I tried were very good! They also have some of their beer bottled to go, and they have a nice food menu, but I did not order food. It is a typical brewpub atmosphere, very lively and fun! Check it out, I'm glad I did! read more
