DO NOT LIVE HERE! RENT OR BUY! FEE HEAVEN! I lived here for 7 months and paid $1,600 in fees! $800 lease transfer fee (in and out), $600 move fee (in and out) and $200 damage fee for moving out, but they could not tell me what was damaged or send me an invoice for repair costs so I could claim it with the moving company. They charged me 10 days after the move! How do they or I know that my move caused damage in 10 days of usage of the elevators??? I left 10 days ago! After numerous requests to tell me what was damaged and how much it was to repair, they are just ignoring me. I don't think there ever was any damage and they pocketed the money. During the move they kept on taking the elevator to pick up and drop of people that had to do laundry on the 44th floor, holding up my movers time after time and causing delays in my move. But I paid $300 for the elevator! If you don't tell them that you are moving something 2 weeks in advance, they charge you a "rush-fee". That sounds reasonable because the 2 seconds it takes to turn the key to reserve the freight elevator is definitely worth another $150 in addition to the $300! In general you should be lucky if all the elevators are working at all, especially since there is only one elevator which goes up to the laundry floor. Half the time the elevators are not working. And then there is the "voluntary" Christmas donation for the staff. If you donate then you will get on the list, so if you don't donate you will be on the other list! How voluntary is that? The staff deserves it (doormen mainly, which are great), but management and "the board" are after your money and come up with the most ridiculous fees and penalties. And then there is the going in and out of your apartment to do repairs when you are not home. They were in my apartment and had to open the wall for plumbing problems of the neighbor. They opended up the wall and did not come back for 2 weeks to fix it, leaving my apartment in dry-wall dust. I think there is a book about "the association" and its based on this building. If you move here, which I do not recommend, count on spending much more $$$$ than you could ever imagine just by living there. You can never talk to anybody in the management office because they are never there. The previous manager Jeff was ok, but with this new person (I think her name is Sarah) things went downhill real quick. read more
