This beloved Lafayette institution, which has graced our community for over two decades, truly lives up to its name, carrying forward a legacy of cherished family recipes, reputedly from the original 'Mammaw.' My recent dinner visit was a delightful experience, with the cozy atmosphere (9/10) providing the perfect backdrop for indulging in their incredible confections. The food quality here is consistently outstanding (9/10), and the custom cakes for events are simply works of art. However, the absolute must-try, and what truly stands out, are the Fancy Cupcakes--each a little masterpiece of flavor and decoration. It's clear that everything is made with passion and precision. The service (10/10) from Tina and her team is exceptionally friendly and attentive, making every guest feel valued. From the moment you arrive, you sense the dedication to quality and customization. If you're looking for something truly special, this is the place to go. The value (9/10) for such high-quality, handcrafted treats is excellent. I absolutely will be returning to Mammaw's Sweet Shop for more sweet delights. Pro-Tip: Parking is easy to find

From the buttery graham cracker crust to the rich, creamy filling and that bright cherry on top, every bite was a sweet little moment of joy. The flavor was spot on--sweet but not overly sugary, and the texture was perfectly smooth. Presentation is a big win here too. The dessert came tucked into a cute little box that made it feel like opening a gift. You can tell there's real thought put into how they serve their treats. The only reason this isn't a full 5 stars? The wait was just a bit longer than expected, and we would've loved more variety available at the time we visited. But honestly, that cheesecake alone was worth it. Whether you're strolling downtown or just craving something sweet, Designer Desserts is a fun and flavorful stop worth it

My first time visiting I tried the following cupcakes: chai pumpkin latte (daily special and DANGGGG DELICIOUS), Almond wedding (my least favorite but still good, I think almond cupcakes just aren't for me), cookies and cream (divine, rich, 2nd favorite), and the Boston cream (also 2nd favorite lol). All of the cupcakes were moist, fluffy, and full of flavor. They are made daily and you can feel and taste the love. Area 51 is definitely my favorite cupcake spot of all time. I've gone to Area 51 probably every week since finding em and I can't get enough. They also made cupcakes for my baby's gender reveal. She scheduled the delivery for a specific time and included a lovely personal note. Unfortunately, the cake was never delivered and was returned to the store. When my wife went to ask what happened, she was told that delivery was not their responsibility because they use a third-party service. However, we ordered and paid Nothing Bundt Cakes directly, including the delivery fee. From a customer's perspective, the delivery service they choose is still part of the service they sell. My wife asked to speak with a manager but was told no manager was available. We returned again to resolve the issue, and once again there was no manager. When I said I wanted to wait and speak with one, the employee repeatedly insisted that we leave instead of helping us find a solution. I cannot comment on the quality of their cakes because, despite paying for one, we never got to try it. What I can say is that if you are planning a surprise or special occasion using scheduled delivery from this location, be cautious. A failed delivery can mean more than just missing a cake--the special moment itself may be lost. In our case, what should have been a happy surprise became a frustrating and unpleasant experience. Mistakes happen. What was most disappointing was the lack of responsibility and effort to make things right.

My only complaint is be careful when you are eating the decorations (sprinkle balls) on top of the pink champagne cupcake. One of them actually cut my gums a little when I bit down.
