I got my nails done a week ago, and the experience was very disappointing. The day after, the gel on my thumb had already lifted, and now, just a week later, 8 of my nails have lifted as well. I also requested a more intricate design, which they assured me they could do, but they were unable to deliver. Overall, I do not recommend this salon. read more

I wanted my eyebrows did and the woman who arched them totally butchered my eyebrows she kept one thicker than the other and literally took almost ALL the hair off the other one.I do not recommend getting your eyebrows did here.im crying literal tears because of how bad she did read more

I hate to give negative reviews but I've given this place 3 chances, and have yet to have a good experience. I have heard Mai is wonderful so I wish I could have had her but because they don't allow appointments, I always end up with someone else. My dip usually lasts 3 weeks. Each time I've gone to "#1 Nail" I've had to go somewhere else within a week to fix the mess. The last time I was there, a lady next to me left mid-session because the nail tech made her bleed and broke her nail pretty low. There was no apology and the workers spoke to each other and appeared to laugh at the situation. No apology was given to the customer. There was a worker behind me (presumably on break) watching a tv show on his phone on loud volume. The workers have never been particularly friendly and it seems unless you are a "usual," they have little interest in serving you. Despite all of this, I've tipped generously and have given chances but have seen no change. I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1, because I do believe that everyone has a bad day and I don't want to impact someone's livelihood. But, I hope #1 Nail does better for their paying customers in the future. read more

I went there because my regular nail salon was swamped and I didn't want to wait all day. This "#1 Nails" was just horrible. The manicure was rushed and the polish was terrible. The nail tech started off with one color and then changed colors halfway through the manicure. The polish started peeling the next day revealing the different colors. The water was cold for my pedicure. I was expected to soak in cold water for over 30 minutes waiting for service. I refused to keep my feet in cold water. I won't ever go back there again. That place can kick rocks!!! read more

I have been going here since they first opened. I even wrote their first glowing yelp review. However, its definitely changed over past few years. Service is not consistent i have had great service and awful service. The staff is revolving door and they constantly smoke outside, eat in fill view of customers and it feels like clientele is also changing. Will i return? Maybe. In a pinch. Will this be my go to? Not happy with my nails at all. The salon was very busy, and I feel like I got rushed over during the whole process. My cuticle started to bleed and the man doing my nails didn't even apologize. I had a mani/pedi after reading all the great reviews. I thought it was fine (definitely NOT great) until I got into bed and my toenails were snagging on my sheets. I have been getting monthly pedicures for 20 years and I have NEVER had that happen. I had to get out of bed and file them with the polish on. Within 2 days, 8 of my fingernails broke all the way down and the cuticles are jagged and sore. How could a simple service go so terribly wrong? I got a gel manicure on Friday. Yesterday, Monday I took a shower and half of the nails were stuck in my hair. They were already popped up on my nail bed after 4 days!!! I also got a pedicure and all of my toe polish is chipped. I've never had this happen in my life and I get the same thing done every time I get my nails done else where. Not a bad little spot. Just needed a simple pedicure. Very busy for a Sunday, but at least they are open on a Sunday, which is better than other places usually closed "on the Sabbath" in this Bible Belt Capitol. So busy in fact they only had 2 technician/owners working with variety of customers waiting for manicures & pedicures. Interesting the men getting the pedicures... we should get more. I know my talons needed clipping. I'll try and make a go of this place again, maybe on a slower day. But I did get a 45 min foot soak & chair massage! read more

I moved down from Boston where nail salons are a dime a dozen. It's been tough finding a place in Jackson that's in my price range. I stumbled upon #1 Nails b/c it's next to the YMCA in Deville Plaza. I have gone twice now and been very happy. It's run by a lovely lady named Denise and her husband. They are there every day and very hands-on (literally) in running the salon. The hours are excellent. If you are over 21 you get a complimentary glass of wine with your pedicure. The massage chairs are great. They take their time, but you're not stuck there forever like some places I've gone too. The nail polish selection is decent, but I wish there were a few more polishes. Highly recommended! read more

The people who worked there were nice and they did a relatively quick job, which was nice since I was in a rush. However, I got a pink gel manicure for formal that night and by the time we started taking pictures for the night, the pink polish started to turn yellow. I talked to some of my friends the next day and they said that the polish was probably expired. It's been 4 days and now almost all of the pink polish has turned yellow. read more

New to Jackson area and was looking for a new nail salon after finding several that weren't worth the price. Stumbled upon this place this afternoon. It was a great experience. Spa Pedicure was fantastic!!! They kept the water hot the whole time without having to ask them to warm it up. They took their time massaging and putting lotions on. It was extremely relaxing! I also had my eyebrows waxed and my nails polished both were a good experience as well. I'll definitely be back here! read more

I really like this place- they're friendly (especially Denise, I believe her name is), you get a free glass of wine with a pedicure, and their shellac manicures look great and last a long time on me. I knocked off one star for the wait time- some Saturdays I've gone in and not waited at all, and then a couple of times I waited over half an hour to even be started on. I like them, and I like that they're busy, so I wasn't too bothered by it, but you may not want to go if you're in a huge rush. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I was in Jackson for work and really needed to get my nails redone so decided to stop by here. Terrible decision! They only had 2 employees so the 10 minute wait they had said when I walked in turned into 45min. I asked her to do Nexgen, but they had a similar version of it which I was fine with. She did the nails completely wrong and didn't buff them like they normally do with Nexgen. I asked her 2x to use the tool and she didn't. Then she said she's done and my nails looked HIDEOUS. I made her to-do it. This time she did it semi correctly but used a normal top coat instead of the top coat specifically for this type of nail. Needless to say the top coat peeled off within 24 hours and my nails broke. I've been doing Nexgen for many years and this has NEVER happened that not one but two nails chip in random places within 5 days. These nails usually last me a solid 4-6 weeks before I experience any issues. Definitely never coming back here again. read more
