I told him I'm only getting a haircut and he said ok. Another customer walks in and he assists her, seating her at the station behind me and proceeds to ask what cut and color she would like. About 5 minutes later, he tells me to sit 2 stations down. Ten comes over after she assisted another customer and asks what cut I would like. I told her I wanted to keep my V shape + long layers and just wanted to thin out my hair. She said ok and started straightening my hair. My hair is already very straight to begin with and I've never been to a salon where they start off straightening your hair, but this should've been enough for me to trust my gut and get up and leave! I decided to "trust the process" and she basically began dry cutting my hair and kept straightening in between cuts. In the end, she styled it with the straighter and said "I gave you more layers ok?" I'm so disappointed by Ten because not only did she not listen to what I asked for, but she butchered my hair. Of course with all the straightening, my hair would look decent because it's "styled," but when it's freshly washed and blow dried without styling, it's a choppy 3 layer haircut! I'm not sure who hired her, but she isn't fit to be a hairstylist. Now I have to either find someone who can fix my hair or just let it grow out.

I originally wanted to go really short, but Henry suggested not going too drastic right away, and I'm so glad I listened to him. He helped me ease into a shorter style that still feels like me! Now my hair sits a little under my shoulders, with the back slightly longer and I love it so much!! It's been such a nice change, especially with my schedule. I work early Monday through Friday, so having shorter hair makes it way easier to manage and dry. Now that I'm used to this medium length, I actually feel ready to go even shorter next time, like above the shoulders! Henry really knows how to guide you without pushing, and I seriously appreciate that as I'm a bit on the timid side. The first time I had my hair cut, it was okay. I think it was a little hectic because it was during lunar new year so they were packed. The second time, it was easier. I did not have to wait when I came in around noon on a Monday. I had my hair washed this time and it was very relaxing. Ken did not speak much English and only spoke Mandarin so it was a little hard to communicate with him. The other stylists cutting hair were trying to help him communicate with me since I only spoke English and some Cantonese. I ended up looking up photos of what I wanted for my hair while he blew dry it. I asked for a more simple haircut, layers and a V shaped for the end. I noticed most of the stylist asks for a photo of what the client wants for their hair, so word of advice, bring multiple photos of what you are looking for. They will try their best to match the photo of what you want. Ken took a lot of time on my hair and I could tell he has a passion for it. I felt like he actually cared what the aftermath looked like. He cut and then styled the hair and took a photo of it for me to see afterwards. I appreciated the time he took and I really liked the look afterwards. FYI, parking can be a little tough on the Main Street. You can always park on the side or down towards the shops for ease. Overall, I'd come back again to get my haircut. It is convenient and reliable for simple haircuts and the price is very reasonable. Thanks Ken!
