I took my 3 year old here a few times and while his cuts came out pretty good for how much he was moving around and crying, the owner very rudely told us at the end of his cut that we couldn't bring him back if he was going to cry. Granted, this is her business and she reserves the right (as her red sign states on the front door) to make this decision; however she was very rude and unsympathetic about it. You would think that an establishment that has a dedicated play area for kids and a fun race car chair would have patience and empathy for a crying kid. But alas...the owner does not. The person who actually cuts his hair each time we went was nothing short of patient and willing to work with us and offered many words of encouragement to my son, which was greatly appreciated! She gets 5 stars no question. I recommend this spot if your kid has no issues with getting their hair cut. But this definitely IS NOT the place for you and your family if your kid cries or you like to be treated with respect. read more

The owners response to my original review says everything you need to know, and proves my point even more! LOL. They are down right rude and no sense of customer service. This IS a salon that serves young children. Otherwise why do you have a table with lots of toys, a TV screen that plays cartoons, and kids size racing car salon chairs? Yes you can refuse service, but you don't have to be rude and heartless about it!!! My son was crying because he was scared, not because he was trying to be a menace - he was looking to be comforted in this brand new environment, not to be told off/sent off by a cold-hearted stranger. Every businesses - let alone a customer facing business - should be welcoming and respectful to ALL customers, but when some of your customers are children, it is not unreasonable to expect staff to be extra patient and compassionate. You couldn't even be bothered to say a simple "Good Morning", so I guess expecting you to have basic manners and common courtesy is asking too much. PS. The same lady positively beamed with a super wide grin when another adult customer came in (who I assume is a regular), so I know she is capable of smiling. If you don't want to serve children, then DON'T accept children clients! No one is forcing you to accept children clients. Just visited Annie's newly remodeled location in Daly City to get my holiday perm. Extremely clean and spacious. Everything is newly remodeled. She takes pride in her work area because it's always very neat. This is a great place for children's haircuts because they have a toy car seating area to make haircuts more fun and plenty of children's toys to keep them entertained. Give it a try at this new location and bring the kiddos and whole family. Great location with stores nearby. Plenty of entertainment with a selection of magazines and multiple tvs. I always usually call beforehand to make an appointment versus walk in but she does take walk-ins. She does get booked up quickly so I would highly suggest an appointment to ensure a less wait time. read more

I have a 3 year old that tolerates cuts very well, cooperates and listens well. She denied me over the phone within 1 minute the phone call lasted just because of his age. I understood she could deny if kids are uncooperative, but to not even accept him without assessing first makes me think she should not advertise as a kid salon read more

Since my last update, I had my hair colored--full on blonde and a blonde/black coloring. All I had was a photo to show her and Annie was able to accomplish exactly what I wanted based on a picture. Great results & absolutely pleased with her coloring. Highly recommend her salon. read more

The phone calls were a bit rough with Annie being in a hurry to get off the phone, but once there, it was a great experience. My 17-month old hardly fussed, mostly because she was entertained by sitting in the car chair pushing all the buttons, making fun "beep beep" noises. Annie was efficient and checked in with me and also saved a few locks of her hair, knowing it was her first haircut. (Admittedly, I do comb her hair at home, so someone touching her head and that way I was not a first experience.). The cost was $25, which was significantly less than many of the places in the city that are touted for first haircuts. I was able to pay via Apple Pay which is good, since I don't usually carry cash or credit cards around. We were also lucky to find street (metered) parking right in front of the salon. read more

I am a new customer. I really like my haircut from Annie. The salon is very spacious with high ceilings. I would come here again.

Took my 2 year old son here for a haircut. We didn't make an appointment and so when we arrived the lady said she could cut his hair in a few minutes. About 10 mins later, I was struggling to keep my boy entertained and the lady was still not ready. Was going to call it, but then she was ready so he sat down. He was not a happy camper :( she ended up giving him a lopsided haircut. Not entirely her fault as my boy was crying a lot, but I wish they had more experience/distractions for that. I returned home and tried to even out his hair.. which resulted in an even more worse haircut. Anyway, we won't be back. read more

My son got his first haircut here. He is almost 1 and a half years old and is so crazy. The woman who cut his hair knew what she was doing, even when my son would stand up or try to grab the scissors, she knew had to distract him and move away from him and keep him safe. Love that he got to sit in a little car chair for his cut. I was trying to be helpful, but then I realized I was just getting in the way and needed to backup because I really wasn't needed and this lady is a pro. Happy for the experience here. Honestly - IF the parking wasn't so bad and not on a busy/scary street, this place would be good for moms and kids! I took my 3 year old since I was desperate to get his hair cut ~ and I searched "kids haircuts." I thought it was cute she had race car chairs, a mom win! I didn't see anything for the girls to be honest but you know what, I'm sure little girls enjoy it too. Anyway, this salon is HUGE. Maybe 8 chairs? 4 or so on each side? So much space in the middle, they have a couch on the side of the entrance, a kiddie area right in front: a table full of legos and cars - another perfect spot for kids. They also put the tv on to whatever channel your child watches! Lol. It was closing time and they still politely took us in, no hesitation. Two sweet ladies! Annie did an awesome job with my son, she also just finished up another kid. They left happy as well. Personally, again. I don't know if I'd come back for me or my son, but if you're in the area.. I think this salon is great. From other reviews she's booked and busy! Which she is. I had to make my appt 4 days ahead, make sure you call cause if you try day of.. she's probably booked already. We love this salon! We have brought my now 2 year old son here twice. Once when he was about 18 months and then another at 22 months. Both times he has had a great haircut and the stylists have been angels. They are so patient and try to calm him down when he starts to cry. Each time he has cried a little bit. He did much better the second time but there were still tears bc it's something new for him. They even gave him a dump truck to hold and let us play the iPad with his favorite Mrs Rachel. They also have a large play area with many toys while you wait. He loves playing in the play area and even wanted to go back and play there a little bit when he's done before leaving. If you're like us, getting a decent haircut for your kids is a struggle. In all of my son's 6 years, we've tried a bunch of different people but have never been able to find someone who knows how to do a proper fade. For some unknown reason, there's always a sharp line in his hair and, regardless of what we ask for, the way everyone cut his bangs means he's spent over half his life looking like Lloyd Christmas. So when we brought him to Salon de Annie, our expectations were understandably low but we were overjoyed when she was finished. She basically gave us everything we asked for and he looked amazing. All for $22. Annie was very pleasant, patient with our son and listened to what we wanted. Couldn't be happier and will gladly make the trek to Daly City every 2 months. From now on. There are clean bathrooms and a nice waiting area if you have family waiting for multiple cuts. I was looking for somewhere new for my toddler's first haircut and found Salon De Annie on Google. We called ahead and were happy to be accommodated immediately since they were fully booked later in the day. There was a bit of parking available and we were greeted at the door upon arrival. My daughters were able to sit at a little Lego table and watch an animated movie while waiting for our turn. The shop was spacious, clean and bright. The two stylists wore masks and I felt comfortable in the space. The other patrons included an older woman, a middle aged man and a teenager, so the salon seemed like a good all-around choice. After a few minutes we were called up. My daughter was offered a cute car-shaped seat but suddenly panicked so I was able to sit in a regular chair with her in my lap instead. We were able to spin the chair toward the TV which was key to keeping my toddler distracted and still while the stylist carefully cut. She was very gentle, kind, and thorough but also quick. She sweetly offered to save a lock of hair for us as a memento of my daughter's first haircut. I appreciated that the stylist was super respectful and considerate in that she moved and adjusted with my daughter when she occasionally moved her head to look around rather than roughly holding it in place or pushing it back like some might do. I also love that she followed my exact request to just even out the hair without cutting too much. Overall it was a great experience and I am so thankful! Salon De Annie is truly a gem in the city for both kids and adults. My son really struggles with hair cuts because of his sensory issues. I used to do a hack job at home while he clutched an ipad but now he asks to go see Annie and Ying. They put on a tv show he likes, give him a lollipop, and go slowly. When he freaks out they wait a second till he's reabsorbed in the show and then get back to work. I've sent several of my friends there with their kids and they've reported the same good experience.
