I was browsing multiple companies for pick up of a sofa that my husband and I are no longer keeping. Most of the companies gave a quick estimate online so I could do a little price comparison myself. Other companies asked for info to call and talk to me. 1-800-GOT-JUNK made an appointment to come to my house "for a free estimate". I didn't realize it was doing that until it was too late--I know, that's my bad. I tried cancelling right away using the text number because it was late at night but was told to call the 1-800 number. I had forgotten to do that the next morning because I was busy with my 2 month old all night. I get a text message today about an appointment time and I immediately called the 1-800 number to cancel. I expected a little push back from the rep because I know their job is to keep appointments, which is what happened. The call center rep respected my declining of services. That part of the experience was fine. The phone I call I received AFTER cancelling was horrible and I will not use this company nor recommend them to anyone in the future. The gentleman on the phone was rude and pushy. He asked why I cancelled and then proceeded to argue with me to try to keep the appointment. I had explained that I didn't want anyone coming for an estimate because it seemed like a pushy sales tactic and I didn't realize it was making an appointment for them to physically come until it was too late. Instead of just taking the feedback like he claimed he wanted to do, he argued with me. "Why would you make an appointment if you didn't want anyone to come out?" "You know someone's going to have to come out to pick up the couch" etc etc. It solidified the fact that it was just pushy sales tactics. I have a newborn and I don't want to be put in an uncomfortable situation where I'm going to be forced to do business with people. Once the movers arrived they quoted the 1/2 truck-load price, $398, to take a sofa, living room chair, rolled-up 10' x 12' carpet, and an office chair. Then the movers asked if they could walk through our home to see if there's anything else they may want. I told him that was an inappropriate request and he said that they're bonded and insured and that the walk-through is part of their service. What kind of BS is that? It felt as if they wanted to case our home. I told him that the price he quoted was ridiculous and offered $200; we settled on $250 and a Google review. (Careful what you ask for.) So after waiting the 4 hour window for them to get here after needing to reschedule the 1st appointment, then they drop the minimum cost. We had 6 or 7 things and not worth what their cost is. Found their number on the Glendale Landfill website. Called, made an appointment to clean out our garage and backyard prior to closing on the sale of our home. I estimated our junk would fill an 8x10' trailer with four foot sides. They told me to except to pay between $200 and $300. On the day of our appointment they called 45 minutes prior with a slight delay. They continued to provide me with ETA adjustments until their arrival, about 45 minutes into their two hour appointment window. Upon arrival they looked over the junk I wanted removed and estimated $275. They asked my permission to back their trunk onto the driveway. In less than two hours all the junk was loaded into their truck and they carried some large items from the backyard to the front for us to load in our vehicle. They swept the garage and added the debris to their truck. They raked the gravel smoothing an area that hold old outdoor storage bins alongside the house. Had an appointment to have my couch removed, was on speakerphone with one gentleman I informed him I would be outside to help him better locate my apartment when I saw them I waved them down. While on speakerphone I hear the passenger employee say "She sounds white" I'm an African American female, what does my race have to do with you moving my furniture?! After the removal and being charged I called to speak to someone to get the situation addressed. I was told that the franchise manager would call me. I live in Arizona. I needed to call 1800-Got-Junk yesterday to clear out some leftover furnishings and boxes of books, etc. from my Mom's house as she has passed away. I was overall, very happy with the service I received (they took EVERYTHING); HOWEVER I was quoted a top price of $698 if a "full truck" was needed. This was explained to me by the rep I spoke with. They bill you depending on how much "load" you have. We ended up using the entire truck which was 5x10 feet. However I was also billed an additional $160 for an "additional labor fee" bringing my total to a whopping $858. Don't understand that. It was a single-story home and everything was organized so they can load it onto their truck. They did take the legs off of the dining room table. But I was told they provide "full service" for their moves so I'm confused as to why I paid for additional labor, all the time thinking "labor' was included in the price. I'm also due a credit of $18; a measly amount to be sure on an $858 bill. Still, the mover assured me I was getting the discount but it was not on my invoice. I will definitely follow up with them and will update this review with the outcome. read more

It was between renting a 10 yard dumpster and having these guys come out and haul the stuff away for me in one day. Hands down this company won. The dumpster would have been $300 with me picking up and tossing it all in, then waiting for the dumpster to get picked up. Now of course people are going to complain that they can't get up front pricing for their haul from the company, but that's because they have to actually see your junk. It's more than you think you have people. And someone else is doing the heavy lifting and cleaning. That's worth something. And it's done FAST. The truck they use is smaller in person than the video portrays, but again, someone else is doing the dirty work and they are fast, convenient, easy to schedule, readily available, and their workers are very nice. So unless you want an ugly dumpster on your property and want to do the labor yourself, this is nice and easy. read more

We had to clean my up a house after a sudden death, and had LOTS of stuff to throw away. What we originally thought was easily three loads turned into 1.5 loads. But the real thing here is how hard the guys on the truck worked. They got mattresses, old chairs, heavy old equipment, , just about everything, and got it all cleared out in about 10 minutes a load. Called back a few minutes later after they loaded and said sorry, it's a full truck and now it's going to cost $630. I asked the gentlemen to send me a photo of the load via text since I was not on site. He sent a text and there was about half full and an easy 3 foot from the top of the junk to the top of the truck. He said for safety purposes they cannot stack to the top of the side rails on the truck. 3 foot from the top???? I should have made them unload it. Moral of the story, watch the bait and switch and know that a full truck price does not mean a full truck load. After they give you a quote I would have them provide a written price, if they don't stick with it, tell them to unload. I will not use them again. read more

They called at 1pm and said "oh no it'll be 230 at 3 PM." At 3pm They called again and said, "we are an hour and 45 minutes out." They wasted my entire day and never showed up I called customer service and when I asked to speak to a manager I was told that they would have a manager called me the next day.
