Real One. No Frills, No Lies, Just Pizza. This is what New York tastes like. Greasy, cheap, dependable--and somehow still perfect after midnight. For $1.50 a slice, I wasn't expecting a culinary masterpiece, but guess what? This pie delivered. Crispy crust, gooey cheese, just enough sauce to remind you someone cared. It's the kind of pizza that makes you question why you've ever paid $27 for a wood-fired hipster slice garnished with microgreens. Is it fancy? No. Is it photogenic? Barely. Does it slap at 1AM when you're two drinks deep and craving something real? Absolutely. The place looks like it hasn't changed since '92 (bless them), and the service is fast and unfazed. They hand you your slice like they've done it a million times--and they have. Honestly, if you don't eat at spots like this when you're in NYC, did you even come to New York?

Pep slice plus oregano and red pepper

We were about to leave NYC but we couldn't without having some cheap slices! lol I see $1.50 pizza used to be 99 cents - inflation is a painful reality! It's still a great deal and the pizza was truly fresh. They had a line and they were churning out orders quickly. I believe it was cash only. It's a no-frills order up at the counter type place. All the usual fixings are available for you on the side - Parmesan, oregano, red chili pepper flakes, etc. No seating inside but lots of public seating with tables nearby which was super convenient. Nothing life changing, but pretty tasty, hit the NYC slice craving, and the price was chef's kiss! Perfect lil snack before traveling from Grand Central Terminal.

I was a little hesitant to try this place as first but it was a really solid slice! One of my favorite things about about New York is that you can get tasty slices for really cheap, and you can't really beat $1.50 for a slice! The crust and cheese were great, I would definitely go back again. The inside is nothing special, but they do have a good amount of standing tables to enjoy your food. The staff was friendly and they bring out the slice fast.

Pizza that looks like it was supposed to go in the oven next on top of dirty Tupperware box next to the floor with door wide open rats could get to it unsanitary gross look very dirty Do not come here. I walked right out. Also, Guy working register had an attitude. Pic is proof look closely at pizza on top of tub

RIP, 99-cent pizza, but $1.50 still ain't bad. We came here for a quick lunch as the wafting pizza smells in the streets of New York beckoned me here. There was a short line but it moved quickly. Cash in hand, I ordered two cheese slices and it was hot and ready. They also have seasonings on the side of the counter to zhuzh it up. The default serving method is on a paper plate, but a small takeout box for your slice(s) is available upon request. They have some meal deals to save some change on a beverage, such as two cheese slices and a can of soda or water for $4. You can also get two slices with one-topping and a can of soda or water for $5.50. There's no extra savings if you choose to get the 18" cheese pie ($12, which still comes out to $1.50/slice). But hey, cheap and delicious New York pizza- it'll do in a pinch.

You can't really go wrong with a $1.50 slice that's almost always available. Workers are fast and you get your food quick. The pizza's not bad for what you pay for. Stop by when you feel hungry and it's 3 AM

Just a great no fancy shmancy pizza. The guys are cool and friendly. This pizza is way better than what Chicago can offer. Came back 3 days in a row while in town. Cheese or pepperoni ftw!!! Wish I can bring this back home but now I have to fly out for a pie. Unbiased pizza opinion.....NYC thin crust over all CHI pizza. NYC has been stepping it up in The food scene

Grabbed a plain pie for $12 and took it up to the room at Westin grand central. The guy at the counter (who was also the cook, yeah real big place) was friendly enough. The pizza tasted good, I wish it was cooked a bit longer though. I could have asked for well done and didn't so I'll take that on me. They also cooked it on a screen which I don't love. I want that bottom of the pizza right on the stone. Cheese to sauce ratio was solid and the dough had good flavor. All in all, I'd grab another one and ask for it crispy. Not the best you're getting in NYC by a long shot, but it Didn't Suck.

Feed a crowd for cheap in NYC. They accept Cash only! Pizza was good, cheesy and just the right amount of grease. Cheap napkins.

If you're hungry, it can be good but it's basically just ok.... I wouldn't recommend if you wanted to get your first NY pizza experience.

$3 for 2 Cheese Slices and a Can Drink or water

Word on the street that this is the best 99c pizza in NYC. Now I don't have 99c pizza often because I tend to dislike it, but I decided to give this place a try because I heard it was a bit of a hidden gem. They still honor 99c pizza - you can get two slices and a drink for 3.00 which is a steal, esp with how inflation is these days (3/31/23). I got exactly that and have to say that the cheese an tomato sauce are the winners here. It was actually kind of good, and beats all the dollar pizza I've had to date. The crust is a bit airy and not like super super thin or crispy the way I like my pizza, and does taste a bit cardboardy but knowing that it was just a dollar, I'm pretty happy and can see why people consider this spot the BEST 99c pizza in NYC. Wishing this place all the success! Look for the green sign - and check out their menu listed outside, you can get whole pies and limited toppings are available for whole pies. I went around 2pm on a weekday and there were 3 people in front of me. It's a bit of a whole in the wall.

The arancini was a standout: perfectly crisp on the outside, creamy inside, and served with a rich, delicious sauce that tied it all together. We ended on the tiramisu, which was absolutely worth saving room. It was light, flavorful, and a perfect finish to the meal. What really elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind and helpful--especially notable for New York--and it made the whole evening feel relaxed and welcoming. A small heads-up: it's a bit tricky to find, so give yourself extra time. That said, the hidden, underground subway setting is part of the charm and makes the whole experience feel unique. I'd love to see more restaurants creatively use these kinds of spaces in the future.

It is located right in the hallway of a subway entrance, next to a bar and across from a coffee shop, and it somehow manages to feel like a cozy, sit-down restaurant right in the middle of NYC. Don't let the odd location fool you, the food here is outstanding. The Neapolitan and Sicilian-style pizzas are both exceptional, with rich, well-balanced flavors and perfectly executed crusts. Every bite tastes high quality. Also, don't skip the house-made lemonade! The experience is even better because of the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. They were all so kind to so many people. From offering to keep leftovers in the fridge until a customer was done at their broadway show, to offering a scone to a young child while he and his father waited for their pizza to be done, it was more than just flipping a table and onto the next tip, it was humanity at its best. Be sure to give See No Evil Pizza a try. You certainly will want to come back again for more.
