    matcha latte with almond milk

What a delightful find! Elysees Cafe, nestled within the Alliance Française Vancouver on Cambie Street, is a beautiful, open space that clearly prioritizes creativity and innovation. Opened in 2024, it perfectly embodies what a modern cafe should be, offering a unique blend of handcrafted coffee and pastries with French and Mexican flavors, all presented with an artistic vision. I enjoyed a pleasant 20-minute walk from home to the cafe for lunch on a beautiful day. Arriving around 11:45 AM, the place was bustling! I weaved through busy patio tables to reach the counter inside. The staff, despite the lunch hour rush, were wonderfully efficient and friendly. I ordered a matcha latte with almond milk and their hearty Bowl de Provence--a delicious salad featuring farro, egg, and potato. I seemed to be in the mood for all things green that day! On my way out, I grabbed a croissant to-go, which made for a perfect snack during my walk home. While I can't speak to the parking situation firsthand, I did notice street parking available on Cambie, as well as potential free street parking in nearby residential areas (just be mindful of permit restrictions). I'm already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their enticing food options and specialty coffees or teas!

Surprised ourselves with this place next to the French school! We came in on a windy, rainy day looking for some warm coffee and cakes. We ordered their lattes, and decided to also get their pumpkin cheesecake and fries! Their fries were oh-so-yummy and I would come back just for these!! The lattes were also very good. It was a chill place to spend an hour or two, though the parking was a little challenging due to the construction!

Cute cafe next to the French school. Lots of seating. Airy and big windows. I got the iced matcha latte and it was alright!

After our Yelp event at this place, I came back. I liked the vibe of the place. The staff was as friendly as the first time. Place is clean and organized. There were quite a few people. I found a seat at the comfy chairs, which I appreciated. I ordered my usual black coffee and loved the Cappuccino brownie. Nice presentation! It took care of my sugar fix for the day! Just the energy boost I needed. There's also free wifi, which is table steaks for me in this day and age. I also didn't realize free street parking is available just in front, except 3-6pm M-F as of this writing. They are also open late until 8pm. Overall, I recommend this place for having lots of food options, comfortable and clean seats, and relaxing ambiance!

I discovered this café through newly opened café news on social media. It's located near Oakridge Mall and has a very bright and open ambiance. The cozy atmosphere made me really enjoy the vibe of the café! I got the caramelized onion Gruyère Danish, and wow, it was absolutely delicious! The dough was perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully flaky. The filling, with caramelized onion and Gruyère cheese, was so addictive. It was amazing--I'll definitely get this one again! Next time, I'd love to try something from the drink menu and hopefully get a table. It was a very busy café and clearly a popular spot!

My friends and I had brunch here. It was our first time to try this cafe. The ambience was very nice and comfortable. The service was great. Staff here were friendly. Interior decor was exactly what a modern cafe should have. We all ordered coffee and food. We tried latte and flat white as well as the apricot danish, ham sandwiches and sun-dried tomato danish/croissant. All of them tasted great. I also purchased a loaf of sourdough. I wish the cafe could slice it for me. I had to do it at home instead. There is street parking right outside the cafe on Cambie Street but if it's full, there is some free street parking between west 42nd and 43rd. The residential areas require parking permit.

Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5 After seeing a new cafe opened up on Cambie close to Oakridge I decided to check it out on a Sunday morning. The cafe opened at 10 and even though I was there by 10:05 there were quite a few people already there so clearly I wasn't the only one excited to try it! The space itself is beautiful with high ceilings and a decent amount of seating to enjoy your goodies. I was helped by a very sweet staff member right away which was great. I picked up a sourdough and chocolate peppermint cookie to go. The bread was still warm which was amazing and a great price at $6.50 which is hard to find in Vancouver! That being said, it didn't have the density and slight tang that I prefer in sourdoughs so it tasted more like a classic baguette in a boule form to me but it was still good! The cookie was delicious, thick and soft with a great chocolate flavour. I didn't try any of the drinks this time around but would come back to try them and other pastries!

I was craving cake and we heard that this was a great spot to try so why not?…read more We arrived at 4:30pm on a Saturday hoping for the best. We tried a sampling of the small cakes, cupcakes and some items from the pastry case. They were ALL EXCELLENT. Fresh with light balance of flavors as well as a great ratio of sponge to frosting. The banana bread was as good as any home made I've ever had. We've been back twice since that visit, including to get birthday cakes, and Trafiq remains my favorite cake/cupcakes/treats in Vancouver. My recommendation is get there in the morning and have a(n) amazing schmecken and a latte. The (amazing) schnecknen was perfection plus and now as I write this at 4:00pm on a weekday in South Granville I really want a Trafiq Schnecken. Aside from everything we've ever ordered being excellent, the staff is great and they have a nice cozy dining area. It's also a great neighborhood for a stroll.

Floral and fruity with a clean, honeyed finish. Kinako Cherry Cheese Swiss Roll Light sponge cake rolled with tangy cherry compote and smooth cream cheese, dusted with nutty roasted kinako soybean powder. Matcha-Berry Opera Cake Thin layers of matcha joconde sponge, berry ganache, and matcha buttercream stacked into a refined, jewel-toned slice. Black forest cupake and cookie and cream cupcake. Kinako Cherry cheese swill roll was good. Cherry compote dominated the cake flavor, paired with cream cheese well. Kinako powder was very subtle, it was not overly sweet, overall, it was very good. Strawberry jasmine tea was just ok. Strawberry and floral flavor were very subtle. Jasmine tea flavor dominated this drink. When I mixed with Whipped cream on top, it tasted better. Matcha berry opera cake was the highlight! Matcha buttercream and berry ganache paired so well, and surprisingly it was not overly sweet. What I always love about Trafiq's cakes is that their cake is not overly sweet, and have very sophisticated flavor. Black forest cupcake and cookie and cream cupcake's presentation was super cute! The cute rounded buttercream on the top of cupcake caught our eye. Cupcake tasted just ok, sponge was decent and cream was softer than I thought. I liked cookie and cream flavor better. Overall, highly recommend this place's dessert and cakes.

All of their pastries I have tried have been great - buttery, flaky, and you can tell they use high quality ingredients. Just like in the movies, this coffee shop is tucked away in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. They have a long menu of delicious, sounding crêpes, as well as pastries, and some unique drinks, including multiple types of London Fog, of which we enjoyed the rose fog. I also had a lavender Matcha, which was super tasty with beautiful latte art on top. The tomato confit and cheese crêpe was delicious as was my pain au chocolat which is my benchmark for how good the pastries are everywhere I go! Really flaky, buttery, but not dripping in butter, with melted chocolate because they keep them in the warmer. There's some seating outside as well as limited seating inside, but early in the morning this is a peaceful place to come. I wish we lived close by so that we could come here every weekend!

Looks like things have changed. Yeah, you know where this is going…read more I came in for the free coffee by donation to support the Breast Cancer Society. I felt a strange vibe when I entered and noticed that there were very few customers compared to the normally busy shop that I know at the beginning of the year - the last time I visited this Blenz location. With no greeting from the lady at the counter, I walked up to say we are ordering the coffee by donation. She gladly said sure and then asked what size. I said large, and then my guest ordered medium. I then asked where to put the donation, just as I saw the pink donation box. There was no opening to deposit my donation so I asked where to put in the money. The lady fiddled with the box and finally found a hole in the BACK. Although I thought this was unusual, I placed my donation in the box. Meanwhile, my guest noticed that the lady was punching in the drinks and had the credit card machine ready to charge us for the drinks!!!! I asked why she is charging us, and she explained that coffee by donation means we pay for the drinks and then the store donates the money collected. I said all these years (as I've been a loyal Blenz customer since its beginning), it has always been a free coffee and then I donate a sum of my choice. She said well every store is different. My guest and I were quite puzzled, and after looking at each other with a "hmm" look, I said forget it, and told her that she shouldn't be charging us. I almost felt like taking back the donation from the box, mostly fearing that she'll probably take that money for herself as well, but thought it will tacky and classless. So we left, went to another Blenz on Broadway, and there, we were served our coffees properly. With that, I left a bigger tip.
