Where do I start....honestly, from the locals I know and from Yelp, I was expecting better, especially coming from the Bay area where if what happened to me occurred, a different approach would have been taken.
We have a wedding at 5pm, check in at 2:45, so we have some time fresh up and possible enjoy the bottle of wine we purchased on the way up. My girlfriend booked us a standard room online for like $189 + tax, basic. We get our room keys, head to the room and it's the "suite." We're like, "did we just get upgraded?"
It's about 3:15pm now, and a bus is scheduled to pick us up at 4pm to take us to wedding. We were really concerned about he suite (which is amazing room by the way) so we called to make sure the pricing was right and the room they gave us was the correct room. After multiple phone calls back and forth with front desk, due to some folks confused about what's going on, we were informed that they put us in the wrong room and that our new room will be ready shortly - oh yeah, and that they would be moving our luggage, which we unpacked slightly to get ready, to our new room while we are gone at the wedding.
It's about 3:35-3:40pm now, I've just gotten out of the shower, learned about what's going on and still need to iron my shirt and get dressed. My girlfriend has barely gotten ready because she's been on the phone the entire time....knock, knock, knock.
As I open the door with my half button shirt sweating bullets because I'm in a rush to get ready, it's the front desk at our door, with our new keys, two champagne glasses, a bottle of champagne and two free breakfast vouchers/two free wine tasting vouchers (they have a wine tasting room in the lobby area, aside from check-in desk.)
This was our accommodation....as we're running around trying to get ready for a wedding, which we needed to catch the bus - which leaves "on time" and "waits for nobody" according to front desk as we were checking in.
At first, I was understanding, realizing that people do make mistakes. So with no time to enjoy our champagne, we take it home with us, which they told us it was for free. And Sunday we take our "Free" breakfast vouchers to the restaurant and use them to order "breakfast." We ordered a mimosa, side of fries to munch on and our meals to-go. Not only was the meal not good, they forgot the toast on both and gave us a separate bill for the fries and mimosa - come on people, if you F-UP, make sure you make it right - take of your guest and let them know you don't normally operate like this. But, I said whatever, what's a side of fries to me and a mimosa when I'm getting free breakfast (before I knew they left out the toast and it was not up to par.)
Normally, I'm understanding, I would not do this on yelp, but after realizing today, that they charged my credit card for the not only the champagne they said was "free" due to their mistakes, but the BREAKFAST entree's, that we used the FREE vouchers on....and a tip for the waitress. Is this for real? More time out of my day to get a itemized bill from the hotel so I can go over all this again with someone completely knew to the situation, have it removed, yada, yada, yada.
I mean.....sorry people, unless they make it right for me, I'm never coming back and the sad thing is, I never knew about this place in Lodi, CA and if this never happened to me or if it did and the made it "right" with me, I'd definitely come back and tell people about this place. But not happening now. Hope this helps some. read more
