The consolation prize for me probably is the ice cream. One of the novelties has to be the liquid nitrogen frozen ice-cream. I am an arts student so if you ask me what that means, I will proudly say I HAVE NO IDEA. But it is new, it is ice cream and it is tasty. The first time I saw Lab Made was when I was at Knutsford Terrace. Over fifty people were standing outside the 'laboratory' eagerly awaiting for their end product from the 'experiement'. Therefore, I was very excited to see it now has a branch in Tuen Mun and it has much fewer people. It is said that the ice cream is frozen in less than two minutes, and the best part is you can see this happen. With the icy mist emitting from the machine, you will be just as excited without even tasting it. As for the taste, its flavor is definitely stronger and smoother as well. The price is around HKD$30 to HKD50. Science is definitely not cheap. So if you are looking forward to going into the state of the art icy cream factory, come to the one at TMTP, it literally takes less than a minute to get your order ready!

To prove me wrong, green tea has been going strong and seems like Kitk*t in Green Tea flavor is a must-buy souvenir when you go to Japan. Anyways, I would not be surprised to hear that there was one restaurant that specializes in green tea cuisine. I was very skeptical when I first heard about it. I was like, seriously, how could you come up with so many different dishes if they all tasted just like green tea? I prefer green tea when I have sushi as it cleanses your mouth so that you can fully taste different sushi in between (as it should be...) But my friend convinced me to give it a try so I listened to him and we went there in one afternoon. The décor of this place was rather cozy and relaxing, just like a Japanese café and I liked the easiness of this place already. I am not much of an adventurer so I left most of the dishes for my friend to have and I just ordered a Swirl ice cream with green tea plus vanilla flavor. I was rather satisfied with it to be honest, sometimes when I have green tea flavored ice cream they tasted rather too artificial or too sweet for some reason, but not here, it was rather natural and fresh. The cone however felt like it had been sitting around since last decade waiting to be eaten unfortunately. Anyhow, since they did not mess up with the green tea flavor (how could they... it is their signature flavor) I probably will be more bold in choosing my food next time.

I do not know how many exactly they have but I am sure you will agree with me on this. Hong Kong people have a reputation not to go home that early (especially when it is weekend the following day), so most people prefer spending some time in a dessert place. Therefore, often you may see people lining up around 9 outside the shops. Honestly speaking, I am not a big fan of Honeymoon Dessert but I certainly cannot live without it. Mainly because my friends and I really do want to spend more time together and this place seems to be an easy choice. They offer a wide range of desserts including Chinese sweet soup or western ones with or without ice cream. However I have to say that most are stored in a fridge for god knows when and it is pretty apparent that they are not going to change that. So yup, you will be spending HKD$30 dollars on something that is put inside a cooler for a few hours. As for other desserts like pancakes and stuff, I do have to say that if you can stand the durian smell, you will like the durian pancakes. They are rather refreshing and not as boring as mango pancakes. But I still have to say that those pancakes are FAIRLY small. So be warned. But what I can say? We simply have too many people in Hong Kong and not little dessert shops.
