Pros: soft and a bit gooey texture, a variety of options
Cons: high price point (i.e., overpriced), rude cashier (1 of them)
Like the fact that there is a variety of bread and pastries to choose from. From savory sausage bread to sweet sesame bread, from mousse cakes to a jar of pudding, I believe everyone can find something they like here. The breads are flavorful but the flavor is not overpowering, and the texture is pillowy with a bit of gooeyness. But a flat bread with scattered green onions costs $20??? A bag of 3 buns costs $28??? Definitely NOT the bakery I'd go to everyday.
Except for whole cakes, there are 2 types of individual cakes: bar-shaped mousse cakes ($19/each) and sliced wedge cakes ($30/each). IMO, the former is a better deal, as the sliced cakes can be a bit dry sometimes but cost $4-8 more than those from other similar bakeries.
I don't have an issue with most cashiers here, but 1 of them definitely has an attitude problem (normal in HK). If she does not be such a b*, I'd give this place a 4 Star. If you happen to meet her, be prepared that she only speaks Cantonese and doesn't even try to help out if you don't speak her language. She'd give you this "I don't know what you are talking about and just get the f* out of here" face and then ignores you no matter whether you're still trying to communicate with her.
Btw, cash/octopus card only under $100. read more
