The coffee machine and tea selection were standard, but I've had better. Overall, if you're paying out of pocket, I think you're better off checking out eateries in Tung Chung for something more authentic. Major regrets because the food was incredibly mediocre. This was dinner. I ordered french onion soup (meh), fries (good), and the salmon dish (absolutely terrible). The salmon was supposed to be grilled and the scallops were supposed to be seared, but it all just tasted flavorless and cold. The next morning we were desperate for breakfast, so we willingly came back to Walt's Cafe. Dumb of us, I know. Luckily, the breakfast was much better, compared to the dinner the night prior. I was glad that it was included with our hotel stay.  At least it was very convenient.

Therefore, it is not entirely fair to compare the breakfast buffet at Café Aficionado with other 5-star hotels in HK or China. There was a mixture of breakfast items from the East and West.  That cleverly included items such as the popular Hong Kong's "Doll" noodles with Spam and fried egg, and street foods like plain rice rolls with different sauces and condiments that you were free to add. The café was nicely lit and clean, and the staff was efficient in clearing used items. Overall, I have a satisfying experience at Café Aficionado.

Otherwise the selection is limited and somewhat lacking in character. It's a buffet; what else can you really ask for, I guess. Not all the staff know English or other languages aside from Cantonese but they're more than happy to find a staff member that can assist you. Three stars. You're allowed to have 2 hours to eat and there is a complimentary station for soda, wine, etc. There was a little for everyone: sushi, sashimi, cold seafood, hot seafood, charcuterie, desserts, chocolate fountain which was thoroughly touched by numerous children, cotton candy machine, wagu, meat station, cold pasta / salads, etc. I did not make my moneys worth but my heart was happy from the perfect shrimp toast & the shrimp in the mango sauce which was so good. The latter regrettably was not refilled after I discovered it. I also ate 2 cups of guava jelly with canned peaches which I will admit were the best canned peaches everrrrr. All in all was a great experience and although my family do not typically do the meet and greets, it was fun having them come to the table for photo opts & not deal with standing in a line.
