In an area full of gourmet grocers and chains that sell imported fresh herbs at highway robbery…read moreprices, Wah Kee is a breath of fresh air.
They offer a lot of herbs required in gweilo cooking (flat leaf parsley, basil, rosemary...) at relatively affordable prices. I also like how they have salad greens (mixed, rocket/arugula) that you can bag yourself.
On my last visit, I picked up basil, flat leaf parsley, a carrot, and some mixed salad greens, all for $50HK. Portions were bigger as well. Do some shopping at nearby Jason's, Wellcome, CitySuper, etc, and you'll know that's a steal.
As a side note, they occupy an actual shop so their prices might not be the cheapest, but I still prefer them because they have good signage in English and it's less of a language barrier for me. Just a heads up, you might be able to find things slightly cheaper at the outdoor stalls nearby.
