Happy is very professional and proud of the fabrics, everything as their name suggests, is custom. Of course Herman would know, judging fr his suits too lol. Visited on a Tuesday and went back on Wednesday for first fitting and then final fitting on Friday with chance for one more adjustment to pick up before we head out on Saturday. One quick train stop away from admiralty train station downtown and had a great time hanging out and becoming friends with everyone there. Highly recommended no pressure and learned a lot about fabrics, fit, and custom tailoring.

One common theme I saw mentioned was "Jim's Tailor" over in Central, " Buddy of mine gets his suit's done there", I read. Hmm. I wanted to travel to HK to have a bespoke suit done in high-end fabric but did not want to pay Seville Row prices. Henry explained to me that they employ 15 tailors who work solely for Jims Tailor out of a building owned by Jim/Henry. The quality can remain extremely high and have the ability to crank high quality garments out for a very reasonable price. I went in Friday at 11AM, had my initial measurements. Chose an Australian Wool from Ermenegildo Zegna, chose my liner which was also EZ, chose how I wanted my buttons to lay, every detail even down to the liner in the Ticket pockets. Tip: as always bring your dress shoes to your fittings! Suit pants are works of art, the extra sewn-in heel guard is another detail that reminds me why I chose Jim's Tailor. Didn't ask for it, these are just features they build-in to set themselves apart from the other fly-by night tailors in HK. These guys do it right, the locals go to him, that says enough! Went back in Saturday at 4PM for my basted fitting of the suit jacket and pants along with a shirt pattern. Adjustments made, said to come back Monday evening at 4PM to pickup your suit and shirts! Mind was blown. I arrive back Monday evening at 4pm along with 3 other friends who had shirts made. Not a single issue with any of them, the suit fits better than any other OTR, Tailored Canali suit I own. I paid 14000HKD for the Zegna suit, optioned to the Nines w/custom buttons, liner and matching threads for buttons, so this is definitely on the high-end of their spectrum when it comes to fabrics you can't get much better. I can't wait to send them a request to have a blazer done that I can wear in less formal occasion! Friday at 11am-Monday at 4pm start to finish, quality is top-notch, no pressure, Henry was an absolute rock star handling my requests. I will be back soon! There are many places one can get a custom made suit in HK, with tailors varying greatly in price…read moreand quality. One of my particular favourites is Jim's Tailor Workshop. They are towards to higher end of the price and quality bracket, not quite Ascot Chang but better than E-Rave. Based in the Admiralty Centre, there are two stores next to each other, one for suits and one for shirts. If you are going for a suit, expect to pay about HKD7000 for three pieces in good English wool. Of course the cost is based on the fabric, but to give you a bench mark, a similar suit at E-Rave would cost around HKD4000. Ask for Henry Lo, the current owner of Jim's Tailor Workshop. He is a stiff fellow, but has a good eye for tailoring and will spend time working with you to get a really good cut. Beware though, his expertise and experience is so extensive, that if have your own ideas, and he disagrees with them, he can be quite inflexible. Having said that, all the suits that I have had tailored from Jim's are great. They are all close fitted, but are roomy enough to be comfortable. Just watch your weight with the dim sum, otherwise your suits won't last very long. The suits can be made in a hurry, but as a local, I tend to have them done in about a week, which is considered "slow". If you are visiting, I'm sure you can have them turned around in about 48 hours. Jim's is my first port of call for a suit, especially if I expect to wear it a number of times like in the office. If I want a one time use suit, say for a wedding, I would get it made more cheaply elsewhere.

I settled on a suit, sports jackets, shirt and slacks. Fit is incredible, like a glove on a hand. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and custom design. This is my first entry into custom, but not my last. Hong Kong tailors are known to be the best and you can tell immediately. Highly recommend to anybody who likes looking good in a professional setting.

Way more detailed in his measurements than indochino or brooks brothers. The price is extremely reasonable as well. Just over $500 USD for the suit, cashmere wool, and subtle touches such as metal zipper in the pants, material to hold pants in place sewed on the hip area and buttons on the sleeves that actually function.

I am very particular about my clothing and Larry Rashmi and his family are very particular about doing excellent work and satisfying their customers. Look no further, you have found the best. As I walked through Tsim Sha Tsui, I was hassled and hustled by nearly a dozen different hawkers, trying to get me into their shops. "One day! Three Suits!" "Custom shirt for you!", but I knew better. No one can make a decent suit in that short a time. I brought my own fabrics from around the globe to Larry. He was able to work with some of them but not all. He made no excuses, but simply showed my wife and I why certain fabrics would not be appropriate for certain clothing pieces. He was very polite and had a wonderful sense of humor, all the while remaining extremely professional. We were in Hong Kong for two weeks. After our initial consultation and choosing some of Rashmi Custom Tailors fabrics to compliment my own, Larry called me back a few times to check for proper fit. I consider this important attention to detail. This made the shirts, vest and pasts fit perfectly. Then, Larry was very patient with me. He measured twice and cut once. The results are exquisite. I had a vest and pants made of pink corduroy and several custom shirts. All fit perfectly. I would only recommend Rashmi Custom Tailors to my friends and colleagues. I have been wearing my custom clothing ever since I left Hong Kong and I love it!
