This is the beginning of my downfall, the end of my wild days- days of suburbia. What has it got to do with the shop? Well, this place very much sells stuff that a family needs- not likes- needs. You will find kitchen items, study essentials, pre packed snacks for kids; all the stuff that you really need if you were to start a family from scratch. Why has it got 5 stars? That's because every time I was instructed by the almighty to find items that I had no interest and no knowledge of finding, I would find it here. Lids for jars of different size? Checked. Cover for the ironing board? Checked. Plastic boxes for organizing stuff at home? Please choose your colour. Its a really convenient place to find stuff like that and its just so good that I don't need to make 10 trips to find them in different places.

I am unsure if this was due to more focused branding. There is a good variety of home goods. My first Daiso experience was in Little Tokyo in LA and I would definitely return. Everything is the same price unless there is a sticker/sign indicating otherwise. I enjoy buying bowls and cooking utensils/ items to change your lifestyle.They have molds for heart shaped sushi rolls, onigiri, and cute bowls and jars. There is a section on grooming/accessories/cleaning/cooking/stationary.... need I go on? It is fun to just peruse the aisles. This particular location is in the basement; we walked around in circles before we were able to locate it. Once you walk inside it is like a wonder of products waiting to be discovered. This chain is basically a 100 YEN store, similar concept to a 99 cents store. However, unlike most 99 cents stores, the product quality is better (with the exception of Dollar tree which does sell some brand name products). I highly recommend going to a location and checking it out.

You might not able to find some special European import truffle or balsamic oil but I am just happy to shop here everyday! The other floor has more household products which I found them A-OK but did not wow me. For more selection, I suggest going to CSB or other bigger shopping centres. It is located very prominently at the intersection of Jordan Road and Kowloon's main commercial artery Nathan Road. Back in 1995, when I lived in Hong Kong for 4 months on a work assignment, this was one of the stores I would occasionally putz around in. And now in 2024, 29 years later, it is virtually the same and it's like having walked through a time warp. It's like the old-fashioned flagship version of Macy's of Hong Kong and a store full of traditional Chinese goods and products, and some of them exotic. What struck me the most, and I recall the same sentiment back in 1995, was the number of staffers they have. It seems there are more of them than customers, and there are a lot of customers in this 5 story (plus fully stocked basement) store! Some practices are still antiquated. For example, the sister-in-law wanted to buy some dry goods in the basement, and there was an advertised 20% off promotion. To get the promotion, she had to go up to a clerk on the 5th floor to get her receipt hand-stamped. Then she returned to the basement to complete the transaction. It all took maybe 20 minutes, but it did allow us to use their interestingly tiny and slow elevator. As a tourist, it's worth a walk-through just to say you've seen the store and the surrounding historic Nathan Road shopping area.

To combat the heat at night, I cherished the cotton weave breathable blankets that you could only buy in Hong Kong. When I got older, I tried finding one in the states (specifically, NYC Chinatown), but to no avail. So, I would ask my Uncle to help me get one whenever he went back for a visit. Well, this store, Yue Hwa, still has these special blankets for sale. Even though I have 3 of them, I just couldn't help buy another. This store is huge, and I haven't had the time to really browse properly, but I really like what I've seen so far. There are actually two $12 shops in Causeway Bay - the other one is on Canal Road East, opposite Times Square, but that one is quite old so I much prefer coming to this one at Fashion Walk. Some great buys I've had from the $12 shop include a piece of cloth that I bought to make a sleeping mask as a Mother's Day present. The reason why I decided to look here was because if I bought them at the market I would probably have to pay for a huge sheet, and that's not necessary for me because I'm just making a sleeping mask. I assumed that the cloth they sell at the $12 would be just a small sheet - but I was wrong. They didn't have that many designs but there was a really nice floral pattern that stood out, but all the sheets were huge! I could probably make 30 sleeping masks with that cloth. And for only $12, this was definitely a good deal. Another thing that's great to buy here is gift bags and gift boxes to hold presents. They have a ton of cute designs and they're inexpensive too! The $12 shop really is a one stop shop for all your shopping needs. I really enjoy shopping here because the aisles are wide and the shop never gets too crowded. There are some things available at Log On that I've never found anywhere else in HK though, so if you're looking for something that no other place seems to sell, try Log On! One of my favorite things about Log On is that it's very organized - I never really have a hard time looking for anything because the store is very well laid out. The staff are quite helpful as well; there have been a few times when something I want is not available at the moment, and the staff will offer to help me call up other Log Ons to see if it's in stock there, and if so they would transfer it here. That's quite helpful because for example, if what I want is only in stock at the Log On all the way at Tuen Mun, I don't have to travel all the way there for it. Log On is also a great place to buy gifts for friends. In the past, I've bought things like photo frames and backpacks for people as birthday presents. Because they sell a lot of quirky novelty things at Log On, it's wonderful for last minute gift shopping! I will warn though that there are many things at Log On that you can buy much cheaper elsewhere. For example, avoid buying stationery like pens or folders there. You can get the same things for MUCH cheaper at regular stationery shops!

For the most part, there are different styles of clothes on the different racks. They organized their clothes by color and the type of clothing, so white tops were on one rack, black bottoms were below, etc. Usually there are just one size, which they call "free size." Once you find something you like you have to tell the lady you want it so she can radio it in on the headset so she can bring you a brand new one that is still in the plastic package. I kind of like this concept because you know you are getting a brand new item to take home, one that doesn't have everyone's nasty oils on it. :P They also have a clearance section. If you thought you'd be overwhelmed with the main part of the store, just wait until you go to the clearance section! This is overwhelming..lots of clothes everywhere that's only organized by type like tops and bottoms. They also have accessories throughout the store like cute hats, handbags, wallets and jewelry. They have a very small shoe selection as well. When we went they had a promotion that if you spent over a certain amount you could get a free glass Tupperware! We spent over the amount and got it, but was too heavy to carry around to the other countries we were visiting so we left it with our cousin in HK. I thought that was a really cool promotion!
