Today I officially stopped in. Come to find out the brand is young, having only been founded in 2005. Clothes are indeed made with natural fibers that are designed to be particularly resistant yet worn as every day wear. Mohairs, cotton, jersey, etc...thus I was not too off by picking this up in their window display. The shop is small and I felt like there was not very much product to see. Nobody said hello to me as I flipped through the clothes around the shop for a few minutes. Clothes are piced in the $1000-$3000 price range on average (not on sale and this is what I was seeing for fall/winter clothing) for stuff that I was not sure about on craftsmanship or quality. There were some unknowns in my head as I perused the racks. Maybe a line to watch as it grows in the world or maybe another Yelper can contribute more info about what I should love about this line or this store, but to me it gets a Yelp 3. The Yelper who wrote the review in August of 2014 before mine loves this brand, but based on her photos she was shopping during the summer sale time.

The store feels so fresh as soon as you walk in. There are lots of blues, whites, creams and other calming colors throughout. Manila Grace is an Italian brand that houses casual, chic clothing. The styles are very relaxed and the fabrics are light and airy. I saw many pieces that I would consider wearing in the store that looked comfortable, but also had a bit of an edge to them. According to my husband, who thinks he pegged my style, this is a classy hippy clothing store. Manila Grace also has some very unique accessories which are available for purchase. They have gorgeous scarves and I was infatuated with their partially woven jewelry. I found a necklace that I liked that was half rose gold colored, and the other half is woven. and the salesperson kept showing it to me in different colors. When I finally selected the one I wanted to purchase, she showed me a different length of the necklace which made my decision making even more challenging. Manila Grace brings style to classic comfort. This is a very popular style in Hong Kong, so this store will probably be around for a while. Prices are mid-ranged and they use high quality fabrics so that clothing will last.

Finally! Another H&M open on the Island side as of late October…read more I like H&M because the clothes actually look good (the only exception is probably the Uniqlo UT line), and doesn't break your bank balance. And this store is actually big meaning lots of variety and something for everyone. This happens to me, anyway... and regularly. But not at this new Asia flagship location. The goods are dispersed over 4 floors and a whopping 47,000 square feet. That's a huge deal in Hong Kong, where space comes at a premium! All that extra room results in a wholly enjoyable, stress-free H&M shopping experience. You didn't think it was possible, did you? In addition to the well-organized fashion, this location boasts an H&M Home store on the top floor! There you'll find a slew of well-curated and affordable goodies for the home... anything from soft duvets and chic pillow covers to plush towels and rustic kitchen knick-knacks. For an upcoming Thanksgiving dinner that I'll be hosting in my flat, I purchased some place mats and kitchen items (I don't often cook, so now I'm set with the essentials). I also found a pair of perfectly-distressed slim-fit boyfriend (I know, an oxymoron) jeans that I LOVE. I'm soon going back to fetch a back-up pair as I know I'll wear those babies to an untimely death. Well-done, H&M! And welcome to Causeway Bay.

Have I named every clothing item in existence yet? If you're looking for work wear, Uniqlo is the place to be. The main section of Uniqlo has every kind of clothing item possible and in every color possible. You can probably pick up the same v-neck t-shirt in about seven different colors here. Uniqlo specializes in basics, but they have a section where they partner with brands that you would think are pretty unimaginable in the clothing industry. They've partnered with Campbell - yes, the soup - before, and they had a series of t-shirts with different soup cans on them. Strange, but you'd be surprised that they're actually popular! The more common themes they've done are cartoons like Snoopy, Tom and Jerry and Mickey Mouse. Last year, they collaborated with UK furniture store Laura Ashley - while the patterns were nice, all the tops kind of looked like table cloth to me! I guess this is the section for the more quirky of the personalities - I don't know about you, but the idea of being a walking advertisement for Campbell soup is not for me. The quality of clothes at Uniqlo is good, but they wear out after a while. Uniqlo has a pretty big sleepwear section, stocking sets in cute and colorful prints. They feel really good too - the quality is kind of like velour. I've bought a couple of sets over the years and find that with repeated washes, the material hardens and results in little raised fur balls (for the Cantonese-speaking, the colloquial term is 'hei mo' or 起毛). I've bought cardigans here before and this didn't happen, and I can't speak for t-shirts because I don't own any from here. Perhaps it's just the velour-like material that causes this to happen over time? You'll be glad to know that Uniqlo is quite affordable - a typical t-shirt is $99, and a hoodie probably $199. The reason I don't buy from Uniqlo more often is because I find that their stuff is a little baggy and lacks cutting. Otherwise, Uniqlo is a great place to stock up on basics at an affordable price!

Men be careful with the size as they are non standard. Try them on first as although I wear medium to large most tmes, it was XL at Uniqlo. Its exterior, with the large shop windows and signature gold lettering, is recognizable from about a mile away. This outlet is the first and the biggest outlet in HK. Because of its size, it's really well stocked - you'll be able to find a good range of summer dresses, formal wear and accessories here. I love how spacious the store is - there's plenty of walking space and unlike many stores in HK where everything is so packed you just feel claustrophobic, this particular Jack Wills has the luxury of space and is very nicely laid out. Upon stepping into Jack Wills from its main entrance (there's another entrance that is closer to Times Square), you will notice that there are two floors and from there you can either walk up or down. The female section and accessories used to be on the higher floor, but a couple of months back they flipped it and now it's on the lower floor. I guess because there's slightly more floor space downstairs? I'm not sure. The style at Jack Wills needs no introduction - it's more geared at the younger (and richer - the stuff here isn't cheap!) population. It's really collegiate-y and very preppy. If you're into more Asian fashion and are inspired by Japanese and Korean look books, this probably is not what you're looking for. I kind of regard Jack Wills as a British Abercrombie & Fitch, and as with A&F, the prices here can run quite high. The plainest of t-shirts are at least $180 and you can expect to pay upwards of $600 for one of their iconic summer dresses. To be fair, the cutting of their dresses is extremely flattering and they come in all sorts of prints and colors, but I honestly don't think they're worth the price. Jack Wills has one of the coolest changing rooms I've ever seen - it didn't use to be this way when females' was still on the floor above, but ever since its relocation, the changing rooms are actual bedrooms, complete with Jack Will's signature pink and navy wallpaper and a bed! The last time I used their changing rooms was back in I think April, so I don't know if that's still how it is, but I was certainly shocked when I was led into a bedroom when I asked to try something on! Overall, Jack Wills is a nice place to do some window shopping. It's spacious, the staff are polite but not pushy and it never gets crowded. The prices run pretty high so other than a pair of shorts I've never actually bought anything here, but I'll still come by if I'm in the area just to take a quick look.

Many of the shops in here are designer, with prices to match, but with designs and product from all over Asia, the aesthetics range from preppy and chic to psychedelic and just plain nuts within a few shop fronts. There are shoes, clothes, bags, and more sparkly crystal things than you could point a 12 year-old with a bedazzler at! Kitsch and quirky is an over riding theme, although there are a number of classic pieces too. The white leather handbag I picked up from a la mode (shop 148) for example. Featuring brown and gold trimmings, the bag is actually four in one (based on the number of different configurations of the straps) and therefor a steal - at least that's what I'm going to tell my husband ...
