as soon as we walked into the restaurant, it was obvious that the greenfeel was not the buddhist monk's typical vegetarian restaurant -- the prints hanging off the walls were hip (or tried to be with what you can find off ikea's shelf), lighting was bright, the crowd looked younger and more energetic than the usual vegetarian drag, even the monk seated at the next table seemed holier than thou.
at the greenfeel, the vegetarian food was made to resemble non-vegetarian food. they had fried chicken, sweet and sour pork, even sashimi! granted, none of these dishes really tasted like the real thing, but they did taste like meat from some unidentifiable animal (except for the sashimi, which was just jello). the food was heavily seasoned and far greasier than the average vegetarian joint. so if you are a vegetarian veteran and like your usual light and healthy vegetarian food, then you will need an open-mind for this. however, if you're a TGI/Hard Rock kinda diner like myself, and normally cringes at the thought of vegetarian food, then you might just find the greenfeel enjoyable. 4 stars. read more
