As I walked in to a dark massage area, I was led to a tiny bathroom to change into the shorts and shirt they provided. There were no areas to place our clothes, so I had to keep it with me. As I opted for a foot massage. I sat in a chair that reclined and the masseuse got to work. The massage was okay, but not the greatest. The pressure was a little weak. I asked for more pressure but it didn't seem much different. The prices were slightly higher than the other massage establishments in the area so maybe my expectation was a little higher. Overall, my experience was okay. It just wasn't the 4.6 star rating I was expecting.

He spoke with Jackie and she made wonderful suggestions based on our needs. Yuen is located just a few blocks from our hotel, so look for the sign, take the elevator to the 15th floor. You will be warmly greeted in absolutely euphoric atmosphere and very clean. You would have never guessed such a glorious place existed in an office like building. Slippers are provided. After waiting just a few minutes we were whisked to a room with 2 beds for my step-daughter and me. Masseuses were phenomenal, complete quiet relaxation. Post massage, warm tea and a gelatin like dessert was served - very tasty. Husband also decided to get a 50 minute foot massage while we got massages and scrub and all 3 of use received treatments for ~$110 USD. Jackie who helped us was an excellent and gracious hostess, everything was professional and yes.....worth every single penny. It was pretty bare, just a bed on the floor, separated by another curtain from your neighbor's bed. You change into the outfit first and the massage started...where the lady stepped right on top of me for almost 50 mins. I was in pain, actually a lot of pain since she stepped right on my calf. I don't think she noticed how I was cringing my body in response to the pain because she was too busy stepping and chatting nonstop with the other masseuse that was working next to me. I am giving this place some stars because they do work hard and it wasn't expensive, but I am not sure if I walked out with less pain. When we left the store, we noticed a lot more Thai messages nearby with even cheaper rate, so you should shop around if you aren't in any rush.

You knock on a locked door like that of a prohibition gin joint. and then it opens and a warm group of people, receptionist and masseuses alike greet you with water that tastes like rice and slippers. Its a tiny home with four curtained stations. I got a dry thai massage. I put on the outfit of a Thai fisherman i think (quite comfy actually!) and laid down on the table. For the next 90 minutes i was punched, kicked, wrestled, twisted, stepped on, pushed, pulled, and any number of other acts by an older, larger woman... AND IT WAS AWESOME!! I actually fell asleep a number of times and snored myself awake. Put through some pain, and fell asleep anyway. The mark of a great massage! Again, if you want a Los Angeles resort spa with lavender and lace forget it. This place is raw and gives you a real-world urban-Asian experience. In my book that's what a vacation should be about: getting out and doing things as locals do. How else can you make memories? Also, my girl got a normal oil massage for 90 minutes. The place isn't set up for a couples massage, but they did put us next to each other and open the curtain between us. Close enough. She also loved her massage.

They take you back to this large dimly lit room where other people are getting foot massages and chair massages. They had me in one of those chair massage and the lady went to work on my shoulders. It was a great massage and I didn't realize how tight my shoulders were until I started hearing all this crackling noises. It's probably more expensive than those hole in the wall places, but it's very relaxing.

It was a short walk less then 5 minutes. I got the 50-minute reflex foot massage with soaking jacuzzi foot-bath. The inside was very clean and well designed as well as very relaxing. The staff from the front to the back were all very nice and professional. The masseuse I got was an amazing guy that has been doing this for 10 yrs (I wish I could remember his name!). He could very well be a "master". Just by a few touches at my pressure points; he could tell so much that was surprisingly very accurate about my current health (sleep, blood pressure, water balance, ect). By the time we were done it was like I was walking on air and all discomfort I had was completely gone. I slept like a baby that night. If or when I ever make it back to Hong Kong I will be sure to make it here multiple times!!!

As a first timer I get a discounted price of $98 (normal is $138), and I added a 20 min shoulder massage for a small fee. Massage was good if not excellent. Al least the place has free wifi we could use while waiting. The massage was excellent, she did not ask for the strength but it was powerful enough that I wanted to scream. The entrance of the building and the stairs up are rather seedy, but the inside of this place is well lit (not office bright but not shady dark either) and clean. Once I walked in, I received a gentle, unrushed greeting so trademark of Thai hospitality, and was asked to sit down, take off my shoes and enjoy a cup of lemongrass tea. Okay, I would be lying to say that 60 min of pure bliss followed. Thai massage is NOT the gentle type to put you to sleep. At moments it feels like schoolyard bullying, at moments I feel like a round of bread dough, and once and twice I wondered why I pay to subject myself to such torture. At first, the touch was rather painful, but after a few dial turns on the strength scale, we settled in "perfect", and I have to say, all the pressing and kneading on the muscles work wonder.
