Omfg the best seafood dinner ever!…read more Location: There is only one street/walking path on the village and the restaurant is at the end of the path. Parking: self service parking at the side of the road outside the village. You have to validate the pass from the restaurant (the attendant was missing when we left). Public transportation: #16 Light commuter from Hau Tak shopping center. Get off at the last stop. This is a Dai pai dong but with a roof. A no frills but good food restaurant. No AC but since it is located right on a pier, there is a bit of a breeze. Plus an abundant amount of ceiling fans to keep cool in the summer months. There are many tanks of seafood for selection right at the entrance of the restaurant. Choose what you want and tell them how you want it prepared. Razor clams - sautéed with black beans and peppers. it was so fresh, no fishy taste and extremely sweet and not sandy. Geoduck - thinly sliced sashimi on a giant bowl of ice. The bowl looked like it weighted 10lbs! Hot pot on the side to blanch the breast meat(the part that is hidden in the shell) and for others who do not eat raw food. It was my first time eating geoduck. My favorite dish of the night! The sashimi is the sliced neck meat (the part that protrudes out). It had a crunchy yet smooth texture with a hint of sweetness. The breast meat when cooked is soft and spongy. Scallop - seamed with vermicelli, scallions and garlic. So good! Mantis shrimp - fried. You gotta get your hands dirty and peel off the shell. I had to get over the fact that it looked so creepy with its' many shrimp like legs and the weird looking head. Under all that shell is a lobster ish texture meat. Taste was a cross between shrimp and lobster. Crab - sautéed with scallions and ginger. It was so meaty and had a lot of orange caviar. I love crab! Fish - steamed and with a soy sauce poured over and topped with scallions. Simple. Fish was about 3-4lbs and meaty. Like everything else, not fishy tasting because it was freshly picked from the tank. Chicken - someone from another table followed the waiter to my table just to check out the chicken. Extremely smooth meat. Cuttlefish- fried, was good but arrived at the end of the meal. Good but not as amazing as everything else. In conclusion, Eat where the locals eat!

Not sure why this restaurant is so hyped up when it's really so mid. The restaurant is in a dank…read morebasement that is absolutely freezing and everyone kept their jackets on. The bathroom was also super weird, narrow and awkward and so dark that you can't see anything. Of the 2 stalls only one of them had toilet paper in a little roll that wasn't even properly attached to the toilet paper holder. The overall vibe is loud, "club-like," and kind of ratchet, there was a table quite far away from us but the customers were so clearly drunk and loud that the entire restaurant could hear them. We haven't even gotten to the food-- which was below average all around. We had pre-ordered the typhoon crab in advance and it was very expensive, was so over-seasoned, and the crab was not fresh at all. The bbq roast pork (char siu) was okay but incredibly oily and we couldn't finish it. The only passable entree was the fish, but even that was just a steamed fish and nothing to write home about. The service was okay, nothing spectacular but polite enough. The other nice thing was that we got these cute little mah jong desserts and I liked that the outside wall of the restaurant was decorated in mah jong pieces. But overall, this restaurant was my least favorite during our Hong Kong trip and it's just overhyped.

Service is friendly and relatively efficient. But for this price point and the coveted Michelin star, I would expect more. The food quality is so-so. The chicken wings were tender but lacking in depth of flavor. Just salt and a ton of chili peppers. The char shu roasted pork was ok. It wasn't as greasy as others but it was also a bit dry. It was really no better than any other roasted pork we found at random restaurants all over HK. The crispy cheong fan noodles were a bit greasy but flavorful and different. Let's talk about pricing. We went on a Sunday night and we booked early so we did not have a minimum spend. But it seems any bookings now have an 800HKD/pp minimum. They slap a 10% service charge on everything and they basically require you to buy an 88HKD bottle of water. Sorry, they're just not that good.

We did not know it was a 2 star Michelin restaurant, and I was a bit apprehensive at the beginning, because we did not want to spend too much money on food on this trip. Upon our request, we were seated right in front of the Harbour view and were able to see the light show that start around 8pm. The most beautiful view of HK at night! We opted not to order the duck, which needs to be ordered 24 hour in advance and although I am sure quite delicious is quite pricy (HK$1,438+10%). Reservation in this place is a must! Highlights were the Wok-fried Wagyu with Green Peppers, Mushrooms and Garlic, Wok-seared Chicken Fillet with Lemon Sauce The server was so kind as to give us half servings so we could "sample" some of the more expensive items, add fried rice for substitution with the meat dishes and free desert. This flexibility in providing half portion and substitution is something i've rarely experience in a Michelin restaurant. Overall, we payed $US240 (1,900 Hong Kong Dollar) which includes the 10% service charge for two people for a michelin 2 star restaurant for an unforgettable meal! If I return to HK, I will definitely come back and try their dim sum.
