Today, I would like to introduce you guys to this Taiwanese food stall. I suppose I would just call this 5 Degree as there was not any English name for this. One of its specialties is the Chinese pancakes and some prefer calling it flaky scallion pancake. It is a savor flatbread folded with oil and scallions. It originates in Chinese culture and it is huge in Taiwan. For western pancakes, they are made from batter but this is made from dough. The pancakes were very crispy and freshly made in front of you. So beware. You could taste the scallions right away and the entire pancakes were just so satiny and smooth that you could eat that all day. I remember when I tried that in Taiwan, some of them were always just a little too chewy but not from here. Apart from the Chinese pancakes, try the bubble tea a.k.a. tapioca milk tea, which is also one of the signature Taiwanese drinks. I am sure I will come back to this street again given how many different stalls it has here.

Mine took 20 minutes but trust me, it is worth the wait. I should try different flavors but I'm a purist, and always stick to original. It's so nostalgic! These waffles are perfectly crisp on the outside, while be warm and fluffy on the inside. It's best to eat them while they're still steaming hot.

We ended up getting the banana chocolate chip and it was such a great choice. There was banana band chocolate chips in every single bubble bite. It had the lightest crisp on the outside but still fluffy on the inside. We did have to wait for like 15-20 minutes as they make them fresh to order but totally worth it. I still think about this and have yet to find similar quality or this flavor in the LA area sadly.
