Wan Chai MTR is central and bustling. It provides access to the harbour side and mountain side attractions of Wan Chai, like the computer center, Star Street, Wan Chai Street Market and wet market, Johnston Road tram stop, Southorn Playground, Immigration Tower, and Wan Chai Tower and ferry terminal via the raised walkway above A1, A2, and A3.
Exits are pretty central to the station so there aren't any looong underground tunnels, but the design of human traffic is poor. In fact, one wonders if it was even considered at all. Paths cross in crazy snarls.
The platforms can get very busy at rush hour so leave yourself a few extra minutes. Also, there are many phone-gamers, slow-walkers, and standers-on-the-side-of-the-escalator-meant-for-walking. So prepare to be annoyed. Pushing always helps!
Inside the station there are the usual 7-11, Circle K, Mrs. Fields, and Hang Seng. And now with Kennedy Town service, the station is busier than ever!
