Nabe One is probably one of the best places in TST to get affordable, delicious Japanese Shabu…read moreShabu. We were afraid that without booking a reservation, the queue would take forever until it was time for us (like dim sum). However, we were wrong. Because of the sub-strict 90 minutes "all-you-can-eat" limit, the wait wasn't too bad. While waiting, we were given the menu to select the soup bases and slice of beef.
My friend and I went with the miso and scallop soup bases, which were excellent choices that fulfilled the definition of a balanced meal! For the beef, we ordered the American lean beef since we were craving for a taste of home. Our number is called and we head upstairs to our seats.
Immediately, we were greeted by our server and had the hot pot placed on the hot surface. We then went out to the aisle and filled our plates with all the meatballs, veggies, and meats that we could find. The main sauce is a soy-sauce based that can be customized with chilli oil or paste. There was also delicious fruit juices and even beer in the fridge for all to take.
The key to this type of a-y-e dining is to pace yourself and not be in a hurry. 90 minutes is actually a long time, so continue to eat at a constant pace and avoid getting full easily with the tasty juices. After you are finished, please visit the frozen yogurt and spend at least 15 minutes. The offerings of mango, vanilla, and strawberry yogurts is amazing. It sounds plain, but when you add boba, mango slices, and raisins, it truly hits the spot!
Overall, I am pleased by my experience at Nabe One and it is the best dining experience that I have had in TST.
