First of all, reserve a table. This seems like on the far side of the Ap Lei Chau island, away from South Horizons and Lei Tung Estate. But boy, it was packed here. They have an upper floor too, which was where we had our seats. I liked it up there, cozier and less hectic. We ordered a lot of the usuals. Shrimps (no pic sorry!), roasted baby pigeons (乳鴿), scallops (扇貝), deep fried salt and pepper squid (椒鹽鮮魷), abalones (鮑魚), etc. Baby pigeons were you-would-give-it-a-pass good, but the shellfishes and molluscs were amazing. You'd wonder if they caught them fresh at Aberdeen. Well, not really if you consider the quality of the water here, but they were certainly very freshly raised and caught locally. And the one single greatest thing - no corkage charge! We bought our own white wines there, as local restaurants never serve up to standard wines (nor good for food-pairing). I highly recommend the fried fish skin. The beef was very good. The corn was very sweet. The fish paste was good. Hungry Boy is definitely for locals. I did not see any other tourists in the restaurant and everyone was ordering in Chinese. It's always fun to have a Family Dinner Gathering once in a while (wink, wink!). Chuk Yuen is a well established Seafood Restaurant this is close to my home in Hong Kong, situated at the Tram Terminus in Happy Valley, it is a very convenient location for locals and visitors alike! Being a seafood restaurant, they have their very own fish tanks at the front of the restaurant for foodies to pick their own! As you can see from my photos, all the seafood was prepared really well, my personal favourite is their Salt & Pepper Mantis Prawns topped with Fried Garlic! Since the Mantis Prawns are all freshly picked from their own fish tank, they cannot be more fresh! The meat of the prawns were all done just right and not dry, as it can be if it is just slightly over cooked, this requires experience & skill from the Chef. Of course, all other dishes are also outstanding, in fact, we came back the next morning to try their dim sum, which were also done very well! Only pity is that for normal meals, with just the two of us, it is impossible to order the variety and the amount of food you see here, well, I guess that gives us more reason to call the family in!!

At the very least, it meets expectations of a good restaurant. On the food side, the Blue Lobster dish is top-notch for what it is. On the other hand, the Sweetened Pistachio Cream initially fell flat -- until I discovered that mixing in the accompanying sugar coated pistachios gives the texture and some sweetness necessary to enhance the otherwise flat flavor. Unexpectedly, my favorite thing came from the petit fours. An unassuming almond shortbread cookie that proved the perfect complement to the otherwise lackluster Pistachio Cream. The outstanding thing here is the decor, for those who like luxurious opulence. Settled within the St. Regis Hotel, modern luxurious grandeur exudes throughout. Something that photos can't capture, but can be experienced in person. Service is on par for restaurants of this caliber, with the staff going above and beyond. I was super impressed when a waiter proficiently pulled out a flashlight to spotlight an abalone so I can take a better photo. Kinda funny. And a first for me. With Hong Kong being the paradise for food, amazing restaurants can be found for all price ranges. Why spend on a Michelin Star one when you can find way better food elsewhere? With a name such as Full House, got me curious, later found out that they serve traditional Chinese dishes and also Dim Sum for lunch, since we are not too hungry we thought we would stick with Dim Sum. To my pleasant surprise, their quality is very good! I especially like their Sui Mai ( Shrimp & Pork Dumplings ). Another dish worth mentioning is their Chilled Okra with Sesame Dressing, very refreshing indeed.
