We chose to take a taxi instead and the ride was just over 20 minutes across the water which was still very convenient. One of the biggest highlights is the shorter wait times compared to Disneyland in the US. The park feels much more spacious and less congested as you move between each section, even though the rides themselves are just as exhilarating. The region exclusive merchandise is a huge plus and makes shopping feel more special. Unlike the US parks, adults here often dress up and you are allowed to bring tripods and larger cameras which adds to the overall atmosphere. The food, snacks and drinks are also very reasonably priced. Fast passes are relatively inexpensive and can be well worth it on weekends. We were able to skip a few 60 minute plus lines for about 30 dollars which felt like a great value. Overall, Hong Kong Disneyland is a fun, relaxed and well designed park. If you like Disney, this is definitely a must try experience.

A thin light jacket would suffice for later in the evening. The theme park is clean and equipped with water stations for people to replenish their bottles. There are also plenty of bathrooms and we did not have to wait in line. For lunch, we dined in at the Plaza Inn. Five of us shared two orders of siu mai with scallop, one order of custard bun, braised e-fu noodles, sweet and sour pork, and stir-fried chili peppers with black bean garlic sauce. The food was freshly made and very flavorful. Service was attentive and friendly. For a theme park, lunch at less than $30 per person is reasonable. For dinner, we dined in at the Royal Banquet Hall. We were not particularly hungry so the five of us shared the baked pork chop rice and sizzling platter with steak, chicken, sausage, green beans, and fries. The portions were fairly large but we cleared everything. The pork chop is very tender. The sizzling platter was mediocre but it was nice to have some greens and the kids would never reject French fries. As for entertainment, our young girls, 6.5 and 5 years old, checked off everything that they liked. The average wait for the rides was mostly around 20 minutes so it was very reasonable and manageable. In addition to rides, my girls also enjoyed the shows, parade, and fireworks. They did most of the walking on their own until the last hour and they fell asleep before the firework show started. We had to wake them up by giving them chocolate so they could enjoy a few minutes of fireworks before we left to get a head start and beat the crowd to the MTR.

I have always believed…read morethat growing up in an international city like Hong Kong is pretty difficult as unlike other countries, we do not have much space for kids to run around, chasing after each other in the woods. Instead, we have kids staying indoor learning piano, violin, etc as young as 5 years old. So I always appreciate outdoor activities for kids and this is one of them - Noah's Ark. Opened in 2009, Noah's Ark is a rather new tourist attraction and it mainly caters for family and kids. How can you call itself Noah's Ark without the actual full-size simulation of Noah's Ark? I was pretty surprised when I first saw it as I thought it would be a much smaller scale but as the park's centerpiece, it does not disappoint. As an informative and religious place, this place allows visitors to learn about nature, family value and also the harmony. The highlight of this place to me is the "Ark Expo" where you can enjoy multimedia entertainment, for example, you may have a look at the short movie in the "180 degree Theatre" and see how Noah's ark came to its being. And I really do love the Ark Garden where you can have pictures with the replicas of the animals. Nevertheless, there are a few things which sort of put me off a bit. First is the religious theme is everywhere. I should not be surprised being coming here but as an atheist, I really do believe they have over-done it a little bit and you can almost feel that they are shoving those beliefs down your throat; second it the location, it seems like this place is too secluded, being located in Ma Wan, Noah's Ark is the only thing you can be here and the trip to here takes up most of your day already... regardless, I still love this place for kids to run around.

But when I came here I was impressed. It must've been the lobster night because a lot of the dishes had lobster. They had a really good salad bar with plenty of options. And they also had a really good selection of desserts. One of my favorite dishes was the marinaded lobster. It was bomb. They also had crab, shrimp, oysters, grilled vegetables, Dragon fruit. The Dragon fruit was pretty good. It was nice and sweet. I would definitely come here again.

As a fan of Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland I was excited to try HK Disneyland's version…read more Abandoned mining towns are oddly things that have appealed to me, probably due to a lot of road-tripping in the American Southwest during my childhood, and the great flashback scene at the beginning of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Some good world-building sets in the queue areas help push the theme, although there was not a line when we went on a weekday evening. Expecting a straight HK "port" of the Anaheim version, we were definitely set up for some grin-inducing surprises. Recommend not reading spoilers if you do plan on riding this at some point; see rating and know we enjoyed the heck out of it. [Spoilers follow] If you've ever been on Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom, you'll find some very familiar elements on this ride. One difference is that for those in the front seats of Everest, the backward drop is telegraphed immediately when you see the broken tracks; where else can you go at that point? On Big Grizzly during the second part of the ride, the train goes up an incline slowly, not unlike the scene with the dynamite goats in the Anaheim version. Like the Anaheim version, I just expected a short curvy descent with some twists and turns. As you almost begin to crest the hill, you can still see the top of the tracks and there's no indication anything is different. A cable snaps with a twang, and a wooden swing arm attached to the machinery pulling up the cart twirls from some unseen recoil. This ride goes backward?! The twisting of expectations alone made this so much more fun that the mild no-loop ride it really is. We had no expectations beyond riding the local variant of our beloved Big Thunder and were surprised by the post-Everest upgrades. We loved it. Along with Mystic Manor, this ride was tied for our favorite experience while at HK Disneyland and shouldn't be missed.

I thought by the end of the of April all the rides would be open but to my disappointment at least…read more1 ride was closed in every area. When I went on the ride in small world 5 boats were stuck for over 10 minutes by the Americas. When I was in the gift shop there were 3 cash registers and suddenly 1 closed leaving only 2 with 15 people standing in line. This Disneyland is poorly managed in some areas and needs immediate attention. For April the park wasn't busy yet mishaps and delays kept happening. Something needs to be done soon otherwise the park will get slammed during the summer time when the park is crowded.

They have dolls dressed up representing the countries that they're from along with the animals. It's a spectacular display. I'm not going to lie, after a while, the song was getting a little irritating. I could hear it in my sleep. All the little kids loved it though. My favorite display, of course, was Hawaii. They had the cute hula dancers, the erupting volcano, and Stitch.

The only difference is that instrad of a Hot Wheel matchbox car, you climb aboard a giant RC Race car. After strapping in the RC Race car, you begin to propel fowards and backwards along a half-pipe, each time building up speed as you pass through the station. This attraction is a lot of fun amd ended up being one of my favorites at Hong Kong Disneyland. Because there is only one car, this can be a slow loading attraction. Try to do this attraction early in the day or towards the evening hours.

I read that 20% of the total area of the Lingnan Garden is dedicated to ponds and water features. It occupies like 12,000+ sq meters of space inside the giant Lai Chi Kok Park. The garden is open from 7AM to 11PM. It is a lovely, outdoor green spot that is lush in landscaping and deep in traditional Chinese style feel.

This pagoda portion of Lai Chi Kok Park is the dream child of 武俠 (Mo Hap) fans and nature lovers…read moreworldwide. Anyone who loves both owes themselves a visit to the Lingnan Garden in Mei Foo (美孚) where photo ops are aplenty and dreams of outdoor fantasies come true. There are plenty of parks all throughout Hong Kong, but this Kowloon gem is certainly among the most unique. Surrounded by the greater Mei Foo Sun Chuen (all phases), Lingnan is neighbored by the roller skating rink and volleyball / gateball courts. It is the only themed garden throughout the entire park and is the site for many Hong Kong filming locations for the Mo Hap movies. It is so easy to imagine when gazing around this magnificent place. During the weekends, it can get crowded in the afternoon. Hong Kongers are already so outdoorsy during the day time that the few tourists or SE Asian domestic helpers tend to crowd this place up looking to score everything from selfies to people watching. It is a bit off the beaten path but a cool find at that. Unlike other parts of the park (namely Stage 1) where access is 24 hours, Lingnan is open at 7am till 11pm. While the night time is likely a peaceful stroll, the daytime is ideal for family gatherings and quality photo shoots.
