I mean, I'm comparing Ocean park with Universal Studios' Halloween Haunt! And guess what? I prefer Ocean Park! To give a little background, I love getting scared, I love scary movies. I DO get scared, but less so from these haunts, but I really like the feel of going in them and just admiring the decor in general. Also I went on Standard Chartered day on Fast Pass, so my experience may be significantly more pleasant. Ocean Park does get really packed and the fast pass is WORTH IT. I believe they run around $320? regular tickets are like $320? The make up and costumes were very very impressive. I have to give huge props. Honestly the ones I've seen in the US were predictable, always just clowns, bloody people. But at Ocean park, there was a lot of creativity and originality. The acting was also comparable. I hear they hire theatre students/grads, and the quality is present. They're actually not minimum wage employees contrary to my earlier beliefs! My friends who went in 2013 also thinks 2014 is way better! The guys even got a little (just a little) scared! RIGOR MORTIS: A MUST GO! try to watch the movie first. The staging ties in the movie quite well! Not that you need to watch the movie, but it's just cool. High quality props and actors CHINESE MAD-ICINE HALL: Very Chinese-y. Very well-done props! I felt like I was in an ancient movie set. HORROR WOOD STUDIOS: The first one I went to and the least scariest one so it set my expectations a bit low. A bit dark so I felt it was a cop out, but there were some shining (and screaming) moments! FOREST OF DOOM: Again, very nicely decorated, I really felt like I was in the forest! Beware if you are afraid of creepy crawlies! I actually did not try the other ones because they were all before 5pm and I was too busy looking at stingrays and pandas =p But I figured those were not scary at all anyway. But if you have a small gut, you should probably check them out and ease into it first. *** Tip: You have to book the H14 access, I did not but I hear it's actually REALLY scary and gross, plus you have to go alone. But book if you want to because same day registration is very limited. But fast pass, just don't eat inside. Bring your own water, water is $24-25 inside. Many of my girlfriends were extremely scared though! Go as early as you can to get the best bang for your buck Favourites: Good actors, high quality sets and props. Fast pass is fast! Meh: Probably super crowded on normal days. Overall: Better than LA's Universal Studio's Universal Horror!

Being that I love Halloween, I've always liked going to these kind of events! Like Celine L., I've been to a few similar themed parks before as well (Universal, Knotts, Queen Mary, etc.) so I have something to compare to. The entire Ocean Park was Halloween themed and it was very impressive with the details. They had many horror actors scattered throughout the park scaring, sneaking up on guests, and keeping people waiting in line entertained. Some were scary, but many were also very funny. Whoever did the casting did a great job as every actor seemed to love what they do! The downside is definitely the long lines. I tried to get the 'fast pass' knowing there would be lines, but they were all sold out way early. I ended up going in with a regular ticket. With that said, definitely get the fast pass if you can. One of the haunted houses, the line took about 1.5 hours.. But toward closing time (close to 11pm) most of the lines were very short and we were able to do two houses in the final 30 mins. My goal was to do 4 haunted houses to get my moneys worth, and we ended up doing 5! So not too bad. As for the haunted houses itself, most of them were well done. If you look on the map there is a "Scare" rating. So of course the more scary ones have much longer lines. One thing I wish they did was to separate the guests into smaller groups when entering since its less scary with lots of people in front and behind you. Tips: -Wanted to do the H14, but didnt realize you had to book it in advance. -The Eerie Nippon Journey (low scare rating) was quite funny. If the line is short check it out for a good laugh! -If you are a cute girl, a cast member will probably hit on you, and the entire line will laugh at him

The garden is open from 7AM to 11PM. It is a lovely, outdoor green spot that is lush in landscaping and deep in traditional Chinese style feel.

Anyone who loves both owes themselves a visit to the Lingnan Garden in Mei Foo (美孚) where photo ops are aplenty and dreams of outdoor fantasies come true. There are plenty of parks all throughout Hong Kong, but this Kowloon gem is certainly among the most unique. Surrounded by the greater Mei Foo Sun Chuen (all phases), Lingnan is neighbored by the roller skating rink and volleyball / gateball courts. It is the only themed garden throughout the entire park and is the site for many Hong Kong filming locations for the Mo Hap movies. It is so easy to imagine when gazing around this magnificent place. During the weekends, it can get crowded in the afternoon. Hong Kongers are already so outdoorsy during the day time that the few tourists or SE Asian domestic helpers tend to crowd this place up looking to score everything from selfies to people watching. It is a bit off the beaten path but a cool find at that. Unlike other parts of the park (namely Stage 1) where access is 24 hours, Lingnan is open at 7am till 11pm. While the night time is likely a peaceful stroll, the daytime is ideal for family gatherings and quality photo shoots.

If you come here at night, the buildings come to life, lighting up the sky around you. You wouldn't imagine that a bank could be a tourist attraction, but something about all these buildings together really creates such an amazing atmosphere. (I think I spent 5 minutes just watching the HSBC building change colors.) Since it's Christmas time, the square itself has a bunch of decorations and a huge Christmas tree made of ornaments. After spending some time looking at the buildings, there is also alot of great shopping and food around central/admiralty to enjoy.

Weekday evenings can get quite crowded with many people using the track. In general the facilities are fine. There are enough lockers to store your valuable items, there are enough vending machines and the toilets, changing rooms and showers are clean enough.

To get there, you can take pretty much any bus that goes through the Aberdeen tunnel - it'll definitely pass by the Sports Ground, as the Sports Ground is actually just along the road where cars exit the tunnel. I guess this Sports Ground is just like any other in Hong Kong. The track is 400m long, and there are clear markings at every 100m mark. The area encircled by the track is a huge grassy patch, where other sporting events like shot put or long jump can be held (there are two sand pits for long jump). The bleachers on the side can fit a whole school and more. I always thought the bleachers were really uncomfortable to sit on though, and the bleachers go quite high so it's always annoying if you need to go to the highest bench just to get something and come down again! There are your typical vending machines around with drinks like water, lemon tea, soft drinks etc. If you want something more substantial - i.e. food, there's a counter that sells ice cream, chips and other snacks. The colorful ice pops - the ones where you break in two and give one to a friend - were always a favorite among us. There are quite a few water fountains here too for you to refill your bottles. In my opinion, this Sports Ground has everything needed to run a successful Sports Meet - and on days where it's not rented out, you'll see athletes making use of the track for training. One thing though is that the toilets are not super clean here, but they're not too terrible I guess!

Situated mid-way on Sai Sha road between Ma On Sham and Saikung, you will find yourself driving into a small village road at first and then turning into this great big opening as if you have just left Hong Kong. there is ample parking for everyone here (and admittedly difficult to get to by public transport). There are 100 bays for you to practice your swings, as well as a 19th hole, pitching/ bunker practice area as well as a putting green. The entire range is dedicated to perfecting your play on the green. The lane fees are reasonable at 100 HKD/ hr and as many balls as your back will allow you to take a swing at- other practice areas are separately priced and as of writing I have not tried them personally- but they do look kosher enough. There is a small café/ food kiosk on site where visitors usually grab a drink or a bite after an intense practice session. Kids love it here because there is a lot of grass land around where they can go nuts. The only complaint that I would have with the location is that changing facilities are rather primitive and the bays are getting a bit tired with use and I don't foresee any plans to upgrade them. Anyhow, for this sort of price and without the need for membership; I can live with it.

It was a pleasant sort of day, and the park was a lovely thing to stumble onto. It was expansive and very walkable, with a lot of nice greenery and good people watching. And by people watching, I mean that the park was full of senior citizens getting in workouts--the park was equipped with cute, colorful, low resistance exercise equipment explicitly designed for the elderly. I saw one old lady doing leg presses, another cluster of them hanging out on mechanical stationary bikes. We didn't spend a ton of time at Cherry Street Park, but it seemed like a neat little spot, certainly a boon for locals. I'd love if my grandma had a free outdoor gym near her apartment. Just the thought of her gabbing with her church friends, pedaling very slowly on an exercise bike, makes me wish someone would copy this place in my city.

Nothing prepared me for how we were taken care of so luxurious while we were taken on a one day city tour of Hong Kong Island and a friend of a tour member had offer to take us around has made all the arrangements which is no great feat and dinner was at a restaurant in the Hong Kong Golf Club. Located near Repluse Bay Beach which was an insane gathering place with large tour buses lined up forever because it was late it was a bit difficult to see as there isn't much lighting though we were shown a little of the greens is quite interesting knowing that the restaurant is right along it giving it a lovely view for guests dining on the terrace but we were upstairs and what a lovely place. Food kept coming starting with crispy duck, lettuce wrap, sweet sour pork and more that I just can't remember but one thing that I did was the dessert...something that I haven't had ever is a "Baked Alaska" and you know the flambé was so amazing though I don't believe I got a pic of the inside as the staff cut it up for us all and served it was a delight. Love this unique experience that made me feel so special to walk in like a member and leaving with full happy belly with the stunning view of the nightlights is the best way to enjoy Hong Kong. Dinner in Hong Kong…read more.. Our friend, Andrew, is a member of the Hong Kong Golf Club and he wanted to bring our group to dinner here. We walked on the putting green so that he could show us the outside of the building... because the building is 120 years old! Andrew ordered fancy dishes like Peking Duck... it was made into two dishes. The first was crispy duck skin, wrapped in a thin crepe filled with plum sauce, cucumber, and green onion. The second was lettuce wraps filled with the duck meat and topped with plum sauce. Other dishes included stewed veggies in hom ha (preserved shrimp) sauce, tofu with salted fish (hom ngee), shrimp with long rice, sweet sour pork, deep fried wrap with veggies, and baked Alaska for dessert. I didn't get some photos since I was with non-yelp people who just dig into the food... LOL! Service was excellent! They filled our teapots with hot water and presented ouour Baked Alaska with flair! Thanks to Andrew for this unique dining experience!
