They have a couple of small tables and one communal table with stools. It looks like they have a reasonable assortment of cafe selection items: Hot beverages, specialty beverages, pastries and sandwiches. I can only give my 2 cents about the taste of the coffee.... It was delicious. It was a latte served in a to-go cup and was the right temperature and not bitter. I'm not a coffee expert, but I hear them using the word "robust" all the time on TV. "The best part of waking up..." OK, I digress. Back to my story. Here's the detail that made it extra special. I saw pics of the joint where they do your basic coffee art in your latte. Ya know, like hearts and stuff. My coffee was in a to go cup, so I'm not expecting coffee art in mine. I open up the lid just for giggles and to my surprise there inside the paper cup, lies a little heart shape saying "Hello Mo, drink me with peace and love" and I wouldn't necessarily have seen that. But the fact that it was there... that was sweet! Way to go on the details guys! It's good coffee and a nice ambiance. I'm a fan.

It was our first time here and we were excited to see what it had to offer. To our surprise, this Starbucks did not have items we wanted to try on their menu and we only found out after attempting to place orders for the steamed red bean pudding cake. We ended up getting just drip coffee, a green tea chocolate chip muffin and egg tart, which were both dry as hell and bland. We were told that the menus under the glass tabletop were not corrected to match the menu at the front. Well...why is that? The only answer we got was "..it's been discontinued". Besides this Starbucks being nostalgic and retro, resembling the 1950s to 70s, there is nothing too special. What a disappointment. The tables were also unclean, like no one wiped it down for the next guest.

My four star rating is based on the following: Coffee: 5 stars Environment: 3.5 stars Value: 4 stars The first branch I went to was in Shanghai and they used milk imports from Australia. In Hong Kong they use Japanese Meiji milk. Part of the reason I was ok with the high price was the cost of the ingredients so this affected my review on the value. A latte or cappuccino will cost you 52 hkd. That is really expensive even for Hong Kong. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. That rings true for Fuel espresso. The prices are high but the coffee is really good. For milk based espresso drinks Fuel is in the conversation for the best in Hong Kong. I typically prefer a piccolo over a latte because I like to the taste of a stronger drink. This is less of an issue here and I really enjoy their full sized cappuccino drink. The addition of the chocolate powder really adds a nice touch. They also have a few pastry and cake items that you can choose from. I haven't tried any on my visit but from the appearance the cakes look very good. Fuel is a bit out of the way for me and with so many coffee choices it is easy to forget about Fuel. However, that would be a mistake. This is definitely one of the better places for coffee in Hong Kong.

This location is abu sleek espresso bar located in a corner of the basement shopping level at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental hotel. A short ways away from the bar is a seating area, full bar-height tables and chairs. While orders are placed at the counter, if you order in they will bring your drinks and pastries to you. One of the signature drinks is the wellington flat white, the name giving a nod to its New Zealand origins. For those that are unfamiliar with the drink, the foam is frothed to a lesser degree than for a cappuccino, and then mixed slightly into the drink, giving the top a light brown finish. The result is a creamy, rich, dark coffee flavour with hints of dark chocolate. Their roasting process has managed to coax out the maximum amount of roasted flavor without any of the acrid bitterness from charring. Definitely a wonderful introduction to the drink if you've never had it before. In addition, there's also a selection of pastries from which I ordered a pineapple cake. The cake was warm, moist, and nutty, and while it wasn't outstanding in its own right, it paired wonderfully with the flat white.
