You order by marking the items on the menu that you want for lunch and can order directly with the server for dinner. They have dimsum and many other Chinese dishes available. There is a fish tank with lots of fresh seafood. It was very fresh and we enjoyed it. Overall, the food is good and I was surprised how busy they were for a second floor restaurant. One great thing about this restaurant is that they accept credit cards. It's near a lot of feet washing establishments so you can check them out after a good meal. It's a thing in Hong Kong apparently but quite relaxing after a good meal.

I can't lie and say the service is awesome. In fact, if you get the wrong waiter, the service can be downright horrible. The service staff can spot a foreigner right away. But, try to be calm and cool, and know what you are ordering. I would suggest bringing a local Hong Kong friend here, if you have one, to help you order the right food. Here's a breakdown of all the dishes that we tried here: Roast pork - this was ok. The skin wasn't crispy enough, in my opinion. The the meat was pretty lean and tough. The flavor was there, though. Razor clams - Amazeballs. Although, I wish they'd give us more than 4 clams. Sweet seafood taste and a sauce to die for. Nothing was left on the plate. Lol. Roast goose - This was good. Fragrant and oily meat, if you like that kind of meat. I would recommend ordering Roast pigeon - this was absolutely delicious. Tastes like duck, but less oily and more chewy. Great flavor. I ate so many pieces. Steamed fish - wonderful clean flavor. Very fresh. The fish meat was bouncy and moist. Just like the razor clam sauce, the fish sauce was plate licking good. Be careful that you don't order too big of a fish. We made this mistake once and had a hard time eating all of it. Steamed abalone - this was kind of meh. The abalone just takes in the flavor of whatever it's flavored with. Don't get me wrong, it was a good flavor. But, I didn't enjoy the rubbery like texture. I probably won't order this again. Overall, I really like the food here. Really not a fan of the service or the crazy busyness of this restaurant. I'll still come back when I visit Hong Kong again

Not wowing, but also nothing bad about any of it. The pork knuckle on a sizzling platter was quite unique as I'd only had it previously at one dai pai dong (local outside eating restaurant). It was quite tasty and tender, and the meat broke apart from the bone easily. The waiters also helped us to break it up so it was easier to eat. Service: Their service was fine. Everything came as we ordered it. They were generally pleasant if we had any questions. With a coupon we had for a complimentary steamed fish, we paid for the 4 other dishes. With 5 people at dinner, we each paid about $90, which is quite reasonable, and we were quite full, and it was exactly the right amount of food.

That's not realistic in a multi-location world, thus this Yau Ma Tei location stands out for being one of the less stellar locations with decent but not spectacular results. Because they open earlier than their sister locations, I opted for this location for my group of dining accomplices instead of waiting another hour or two (#1). After a subpar meal, I realized that I've actually been here several times in the last decade, which goes to show how unmemorable the combined experiences have been. The entrance along Nathan Rd can be a bit confusing, but there is an elevator at In's Point where Satay King is, then press "3" and the doors will open directly into the restaurant. Reservations might be necessary for larger groups, but mine was ushered to our table quickly. The place is deceivingly big despite the very low ceilings and few staff, but there are plenty of locals (#2) almost at all hours. Menus are available in both Chinese and English and the items are ordered a la carte. I've ordered us myriad of items over the years, but few stand out. Among the things I think are fairly decent include their gluntinous rice dumplings, silky rice rolls, the occasional fish balls, and teochew dumplings. The rest has been a dry, semi-blend mess of items. I think if I had written a review years ago, I would have known not to go back. It's also worth pointing out that the dim sum options are so excellent in HK, that this place is still solid but doesn't hit the same as other heavyhitters in the dim sum game. It was hard to choose something because this place pretty much offers anything and everything. It was 14:15 so we could have chosen anything off of their daily lunch menu, regular sets, a la carte, or if we just waited a little bit we could have gotten food off of their afternoon tea menu. So many choices! In the end, I defaulted to one of my regular choices for a Hong Kong style cafe: macaroni soup noodles with BBQ pork, omelet with toast, and a yin yang. There were several surprises in the meal. First, when the macaroni soup noodle arrived, I was surprised to see that the soup base included peas, carrots, and corn. This is usually how my dad makes this dish! It was reminiscent for me. The second surprise was that the omelet had slices of hotdog inside instead of ham like usual. I don't eat hotdogs so I picked them out. My yin yang had a strong coffee taste than usual, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing - just different. Overall, I thought the food here was very average. Don't get crazy excited about anything here, but it will definitely do in a pinch. I also thought their prices were reasonable. My meal set was $34. I do think their food took longer than a normal Hong Kong style cafe, which is famous for their speedy service. Our food easily took over 10 minutes to arrive and by Hong Kong standards, that's forever.

Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Our favorites were the Dim Sum Combo and the Seafood Dumpling Platter. The dumplings were flavorful, and the presentation of each dish was beautiful and very appetizing. The prices were quite reasonable. Our meal came to about HK$330 (around US$42), including tea and the 10% service charge. Since the service charge is already included, there's no need to leave an additional tip in Hong Kong. Overall, we had a wonderful dim sum experience there.
