Check-in was smooth and efficient, with three staff members at the front desk. I was assigned Ro no noom 1505, a corner room with one double bed. I had assumed a "double" would be closer to a queen size, but that was not the case. The bed was smaller than expected, and the room itself felt quite tight--even by Hong Kong standards. That said, the essentials were solid. The Wi-Fi worked reliably, and the bathroom had strong water pressure with consistent hot water. Toiletries were from Elemis, which was a nice touch. The desk, however, was extremely small--so compact that it was difficult to sit comfortably and use it for any extended period. Daily housekeeping is available, though I chose not to use it. The TV offered a few international news channels, which I appreciated given the ongoing tensions involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran--it was helpful to stay informed. The hotel also offers breakfast, but we did not try it during this stay. Amenities are limited: the gym is quite small, and the pool was closed for maintenance at the time of our visit. Overall, every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional. Special thanks to Calvin at the concierge desk for his excellent local snack recommendations.

No-nonsense hotel that is extremely affordable (largest plus) and very clean. There really is no…read more"social" area to interact with others and the workout area is extremely minimal, but this hotel is within 5 minutes of some convenience stores and other small food shops. Rain showers are the best feature of the rooms to me, English tv channels are limited to some nature shows, a few news outlets and very, very old Comedy Central shows. Free drinks each day in the minibar are a nice touch. My last stay had a few blips but I've stayed several times before so I know this last one was an anomaly (and all issues were promptly resolved). If I could recommend one thing it is that the breakfast buffet should rotate some food items every day. Although decent, eating from the same main course foods for two weeks was surprising.

First, the bad: 1…read more location is terrible, it'll take over half an hour to get from the hotel to, say, Central via MTR (pro tip: download the official MTR app for travel time estimates). 2. it's not easy to find from the MTR station unless you have a map. Chong Yip Street is a tiny L-shaped road off of Hung To Road and it takes two left turns after coming out of the official B6 Exit. (pro tip: take the exits to Millennium City instead, and take the overhead pedestrian bridge to get to Millennium City Phase II, then walk straight across the lobby and down the steps. That drops you onto Chong Yip Street. The hotel is along the street on your right, but be careful not to get run over by cars driving underneath Millennium City Phase III). 3. The hotel gym is a joke. There's couple of treadmills if you're into that, but the free weights is a couple of dumbbells that go up to 10 kg. I'm not kidding. 4. There's an iPad in the room. I think it's the model from five years ago, and the screen is cracked. I didn't want to even touch it, but I had to because they had propped it up against the wall in the way of the light switches. 5. Speaking of light switches, NONE OF THEM MADE ANY SENSE. I was there for a week and I *still* don't know what switches turn on what. You just randomly hit the switches until you get what you want. Now the good: 1. The view from the top floor is amazing. You can see the old airport runway all the way to Wan Chai and The Peak. 2. Free drinks in the fridge? 3. Everything's clean and orderly. 4. It's a bit hard to find where all the neighborhood food is just from walking, since you're on the industrial/warehouse/car shop side of Kwun Tong Road. Cross over to Ngau Tau Kok Road and head *east* from the MTR to find the closest concentration of shops and restaurants.

We were all…read morethere for my brothers wedding and had chosen this area because it's close to where my now-sister in law's family lives (in Chai Wan). A whole bunch of us had rented rooms (about 16 people) here at Y-Loft for the destination wedding and had a great experience. The rooms are very spacious and there are a lot of amenities located within Y-Loft Square. Unfortunately I was too busy to explore these amenities, but they do exist here! The rooms included a mini fridge, a safe, washroom with shower, closet, three over-sized single beds, strong wifi, housecleaning if you want it, and a laundry area nearby. By over-sized single beds I mean they weren't the size of your regular American twin size beds. These bed could potentially fit a couple or two girls. This was a breath of fresh air for all of us staying here as we had just come from a tiny apartment in Tokyo! Yes, Chai Wan is at the end of the MTR and doesn't sound as fancy as Tsim Sha Tsui or Causeway Bay areas, but Chai Wan is only a short 25 minute or so ride to Central station. If you're out longer in the night and the MTR's are closed, taxi's are very cheap in Hong Kong. Definitely a nice stay here for the price with MTR right by the square. Service was great if you ever needed anything at front desk. There was always someone there when you needed something like an extra roll of toilet paper.

In an attempt to cancel or adjust my stay with Y-Loft, the staff was not understanding at all of my situation and refuse to provide refund or fee adjustment of any kind. I spoke to three different employees over the phone, told them my story, gave them the cancelled flight details, and they all said that they already charged me in full and they're not the ones at fault with my situation, so nothing of the $1,000+ USD will be returned to me. Each of them reminded me to review the booking policy prior to making reservations like it was my fault for my flight cancellation. I understand if I was making up some sort of bogus story to back out of the stay, but these guys are rude and unwilling to help!! I guess you get what you paid for... I know for a fact that something would've been done about my inconvenient situation f I was staying with any of the Starwood hotels. :'( sad-face x1000

As a gold member, we got a welcome drink. The room was of moderate size and the beds were comfortable. I thought the AC was not very powerful but it didn't really bother me that much. Complimentary breakfast buffet was included in our stay. There were croissants, salad, yogurt, vermicelli, congee, oatmeal, fried rice, stir-fried veggies, fish siu mai, steamed buns(pork, custard), hash browns, sausage, ham and scrambled eggs. They also had orange/apple juice, milk, coffee, and tea. Overall, the quality of the food was just average. I loved that they had a laundry room on the 7th floor with 2 washing machines and 2 dryers. However, it costs $40/HKD to wash or dry a load. They also have a rooftop garden on the 6th floor and vending machines. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall, it was a pleasant stay!

My wife and I came for a recent trip for 12 days and we enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. We requested the housekeeping staff to clean our room every other day, and asked them to change the sheets midway through our trip and they did a good job. As part of our reservation, we got free breakfast buffet on their 1/F Restaurant "A Chef's Table", which was tasty and had a whole bunch of options. We didn't try any other hotel restaurants, or try the pool or other amenties. The hotel's wifi was pretty strong. Despite setting up thermostat, my wife was hoping the heat were be stronger in our room, while they weren't able to adjust the central air, they provided my wife a portable heater on her nightstand. While on previous trips we've stayed in North Point, we chose this hotel because Tseung Kwan O was an convienient location for seeing the relatives and friends for this trip. Within walking distance there were many food and shopping options, and we could see all of Hong Kong getting more busy as the borders were opening up, the New Territories still don't seem as busy being in the center of the Island or Causeway Bay or Tsim Sha Tsui. While in the NT, we were able to get wherever we needed to go pretty convieniently through MTR or bus. I didn't book the reservation but my wife said it was a pretty good deal. I'd recommend this hotel.

Popcorn mall is also connected with two nearby TKO malls. As for the hotel itself, my experience with staff have always been pleasant whether its with the front desk or the cleaning ladies. The lobby and elevators were always very clean (although elevators were a little tad slow). The rooms were also clean and spacious, some with a pretty good view of nearby parks/outdoor spaces. Overall was very quiet as well. The only thing about the rooms is that the shower water wasn't super hot. Staff responded to our concerns pretty quick and it got better. My room also featured a bathroom with a glass wall. There is an option to have blinds down (inside the bathroom) but because of the light on the other side of the room, you can still see inside the bathroom - just something to be aware if you're sharing the room. The gym was also very clean and pretty standard with equipment. I wish they had a bigger space for yoga mats/open space but I was able to find a little corner for myself. There is an outdoor pool that is going to reopen in April 2023. Breakfast buffet is another add on option. It featured a good range of Asian (esp Hong Kong style) and Western classics. It had your omelets, sausages, hot food, bread/cereal, but also had wonton noodles, congee with diff condiments/sauces, etc. Overall enjoyed my stay here with many reasons to recommend this hotel to others!
