If I didn't feel like going out after a long day of being touristy/family, I would visit here. I generally went for the beef brisket wonton noodle soup. The broth was a little heavy on the 5-spice and I would've been fine with a cleaner broth. However, the noodles, brisket, and wontons were on-point. The brisket was tender and flavorful, and the wontons were delicate and filled with shrimp. The noodles were toothsome and weren't too soft. The set meals are a pretty good value as you can choose from a variety of entrees (noodles, rice porridge, etc.), a side dish/dessert (like vegetables, fried wontons, dessert soup), and a drink (hot soy, hot teas, etc.). I didn't go for the fried wontons but the fried fish balls were quite good. They were very hot but soft with a slightly crispy exterior. There wasn't a fishy taste to it, so it seemed more fresh. The choy sum was okay, though the broth it sat in was a seafood-based broth which wasn't really my style. Service was decent though like most places in HK, you have to flag down someone and don't expect someone to come to you. This spot was good (and clean) enough for me to not have to visit my former wonton spot, Mak Man Kee. I mean, Chee Kei was good enough where I didn't feel compelled to endure a cramp place with small portions and poor service. I just don't have to deal with that anymore.

Wonton Noodle Soup: It costs a whopping $6 US and the broth and wonton taste super traditional but well executed. I was excited to try Mak's for the very first time. Besides the quick and friendlier service, the space is well air conditioned and while cramped, the pros outweighs any of the cons. The signature wonton noodles were the best I have had and the quality really shows. Each bite of the shrimp wontons tasted crisp and fresh while the delicate wrapper held the full shrimp tightly and neatly. The shrimp itself was cooked to perfection and did not have any mushy texture nor overcooked chew. The noodles were as springy as ever and definitely tasted as much as they were worth. The broth was the clear winner whether or not you're the type to add some red vinegar or not. It is a broth with clear depth and flavor that does not overwhelm the tastebuds, nor send them to monosodium glutamate shock. It was such a great meal, I am already looking to enjoy another bowl sooner than later. And of course, for all the non-seafood lovers out there, the beef brisket noodles are just as worthy. Also, this spot serves free tea, no tea charge!

As we wandered through the mall, we noticed it housed a variety of restaurants and eateries. That's when we discovered Paradise Dynasty, a restaurant on the 2nd floor (3rd floor by U.S. standards) specializing in Shanghainese cuisine. Intrigued by all the pictures on their display, we returned that evening with our daughter, and it was love at first bite. We ended up dining there a total of four times in the nine days thereafter! The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and filled with small tables that created a cozy atmosphere. Despite the crowds, we never had to wait for a table. The staff were consistently welcoming and courteous, making each visit pleasant and hassle-free. Menus were available both via QR code and in physical form, in both Chinese and English, complete with photos of every dish, making ordering incredibly easy. One of the standout dishes was their Xiao Long Bao, soup dumplings with delicate wrappers and flavorful fillings. We highly recommend the Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao, which includes eight different flavors for a fun and tasty experience. Other favorites included the La Mian with Prawn and Pork Wonton in Signature Pork Bone Soup (Wontons with Noodle Soup), a comforting bowl featuring four plump wontons and a generous serving of noodles, perfect for sharing. We also never skipped dessert: a warm bowl of ginger soup with three glutinous rice balls filled with fragrant black sesame paste. Though we were usually full, we always found room to share one glutinous rice ball each, just enough to satisfy our sweet tooth. With its convenient location, reasonable prices, varied menu, consistent quality, and great service, Paradise Dynasty quickly became our go-to restaurant in Hong Kong. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

We were in the Mong Kong area, I did a Google search and this place came up as being the closest to us. On Google it rated a solid 4 stars. It was around 2:00 on a Monday afternoon, when we got there we were immediately seated. Staff was welcoming. They had numerous menus showing all kinds of dishes and specials most of which were in Chinese. Using Google Translate helped. They did have a couple of menus with English translation too. We ordered claypot rice dishes since that was what we were craving. They had quite a few choices. I ordered the Grilled Eel claypot rice and my wife ordered the Abalone claypot rice. After a little wait our orders came out. They were served steaming hot. My order came with a bonus "fan jiu" or scorched rice on the side. They were delicious and my wife and I agreed most satisfying. The few aunties that waited on us spoke little to no English, but were friendly enough. They were patient and we were able to convey what we wanted to order. Since it wasn't busy we were able to take our time eating and rest a little after walking around all morning. Of course we also got milk tea to go with our meals. I will comeback the next time I'm back in HK.
