I must sound like a total geek for saying this, but I adore this bus line. i live in Happy Valley…read moreso according to most of hong Kong, it's not the most convenient place to be. I beg to differ. This bus line makes everything all better. It takes me from Happy Valley all the way to Western district (if I chose to).
In the mornings, the buses are so frequent, it comes nearly once every 5 minutes. In the beginning when you're lining up, it looks a little daunting because the lineup sometimes stretches to the end of the block, but because the buses in the morning are so frequent and the buses are pretty much empty when they come pick you up, the line moves extremely fast.
I like this line because it not only takes me to work in Central but it also stops through the main places I normally go, namely Wan Chai, Admiralty, Sheung Wan, Sai Wan, Kennedy Town.
Sometimes there are traffic jams, but come on, you can expect traffic jams no matter what you're taking.
It takes about 20 minutes door to door from Happy Valley to Central in the mornings. On the way home however, during rush hour, it can take up to 40 minutes.
The bus route is also cheap as chips, only $3.4 per ride. It makes stops at all the crucial places, such as Pacific Place, Southern Playground, Tin Lok Lane, close to Star Street, BOC tower, Landmark, Hang Seng bank/escalators, Western Market, etc. etc.
I've recommended this bus route to so many people already, haven't gotten any complaints so far.
