Over and under this bridge, once on foot and a couple of times on our dinner cruise. It is indeed a beautiful bridge and one of the better spots to get a great picture of the famous Prague Castle.
One of the shorter bridges over the Vltava river, it was completed in 1908. A standard arch bridge made from stone pillars and iron arches, the roadway on top was replaced in 1961 from the original wood to stones. It is the only Art Nouveau bridge in the Czech Republic.
During the German occupation, the bridge was renamed to the Mendelův Most), after Gregor Mendel the famous scientist.
