Having worked out at other studios in the area, I find RH&F to be the best overall as it has great equipment, clean open environment and isn't overpriced (as the places in Greenwich are). I began working out here back in the spring of 2010 right after my wife gave birth to our daughter (somehow I managed to put on more weight than my wife compliments of Ben and Jerry's. Since then I have gotten in the best shape of my life. There are other options out there but you ought to give this one a try as it won't disappoint.

One instructor, Dorothy, has put me down for modifications that other instructors have taught me in private lessons. So I use them. She put me down before the class, so I emailed the owner. NO ANSWER for two weeks. She said they gave sensitivity training. So today, I took one of Dorothy's classes for the first time since then (I had no choice away for the next few days, and there was only one there today), and the same thing happened. Today, she told me I was doing everything wrong in front of everyone. She also rolled her eyes at me a few times. I am in my 50s and have problems, maybe more than most, but I should not have to feel embarrassed. I realize it's a business, and money comes first, but they need to have this sensitivity training and not just say they are. So, if you have any ailments of any kind, be careful which class you go to or go to another pilates place that trains their staff on sensitivity.

The owner, Alba is just the sweetest. I took my first class with her and she is pure energy and fun. She eased me into the moves and now I can do what I never thought possible. Zumba is very fun and exhilarating. I walked out of my class last night dripping in sweat and i've lost about 15 pounds! It's worth your money and especially your time because you will love the fitness classes here. Everyone is very amiable and you won't feel uncomfortable working out with these friendly people. For those who know, a Chinese cleaver is not a bone cleaver, it is used like a Chefs knife and cannot break through bone. The cleaver was heavily damaged and I was looking for a place to help me repair and sharpen the blade. Indulge Kitchen Supplies was one of the only places that responded and I am glad they did. The store itself is on a main street with a fair amount of street parking and the store is super cute. The store sells a variety of kitchen gear from different knives, cutlery, utensils, etc. Most of the curated items are modern and high quality such as Durelex glass and Global Knives. While their prices are a little higher than online prices, they have quality stuff and I recommend buying from them. Their knife sharpening and repair was a life saver for me. The Chinese Cleaver is a large knife and they were able to get it done for me in less than a day and it was fully repaired. Looking at the photos you can see that they took out all the dings on the knife and sharpened it back to the point where I could use it again. I highly recommend this service and would readily come back when I need any knife repair or sharpening.

Jennifer is wonderful. I have been working with Jennifer as a trainer at my home for the last several years. She is highly trained and knowledgeable about health and physiology and has the advanced education and extensive experience to work with various populations and people with specific needs, injuries and vulnerabilities. I work with Jennifer primarily on my osteoporosis - which involves for me, exercises to strengthen my bones and to prevent falls. As other issues arise, she adapts my routine to meet them. Jennifer knows exactly what I should and just as important, should not do to allow me to exercise safely and has developed for me a personalized routine that took me as I was and built me up gradually. She is also a highly trained yoga instructor and incorporated that into my training. I also am taking a yoga class at her beautiful and spacious studio, where she keeps her instructor to student ratio low, to give everyone personal attention. And besides all of this, she is a delightful, positive, supportive, warm person and I have very much enjoyed working with her. I can't recommend her enough. read more
