Catching up on review drafts! Came by in April 2022 and had a wonderful dining experience. I'd heard they get very crowded and so my party of two arrived at opening on the dot so that we could secure a table. They were just laying out the place settings and sat us down right away as there was no one else in the restaurant. From other reviews it looked like they automatically include bread on the table (and charge this as part of the service fee), though since we arrived early and they were still placing bread out, they asked if we wanted any and we declined thinking about the large serving sizes ahead. The home-style Mediterranean fare they serve here is very good. Like other reviewers have mentioned their serving sizes are epic. One regular main entree is large enough to share comfortably between 4 people so this is surely a place to come with a larger group. Thankfully they asked us if we wanted half portions, and even then the half sizes that came out were easy among some of the largest portions compared to normal full-sized dishes I've come across in the US. We ended up getting half size orders of the cuttlefish €16.50 and the house codfish €16.50, a regular side of Portuguese sautéed cabbage €3.50. The prices are very reasonable for how much food they give. The cuttlefish was the best dish, tender, fresh, savory. The cod was a bit too salty by itself so you had to eat it with some of the chickpeas or potatoes served with it. The cabbage was tender and tasty--funny enough very much like Asian stir-fried cabbage. For two people we couldn't finish even the half portions, it was so much food. Ordered a half carafe of their local house white wine €8.50 and this was a refreshing accompaniment to the seafood. By the time we left about an hour after they opened, the restaurant was 80-90% full. Our server was friendly and courteous, came to check on us a couple times during the meal. Unfortunately since we were so full we couldn't try dessert. Bathroom is available. If you have a larger group or family get-together this is your spot! read more

This place was amazing. First of all I didn't have a reservation and only went there based on my tour guides referral. But apparently it get slammed. Anyways the manager was amazing he sat us down anyways. We had the cod. Can I just say life changing. My husband and I loved it so much, we will definitely make reservation before we leave read more

Their most popular items are salted cod, steak with garlic, and cuttlefish. The portions are (unnecessarily) huge. We did ask for half-portions, and they only allow that if you order two half-portions. Even the half-portions were large. We didn't finish our half-portions. I liked the beef with garlic more than the salted cod. The beef had a nice creamy vinegar sauce, almost like a vinegary marsala sauce. The fries went really well with it. The salted cod tasted how you would expect it to: cod that was cured by salt. It was soaked in too much oil (1 star off). The flan was delicious with a burnt caramel sauce. They do place bread, olives, cheese, and butter on every table which are all added onto the bill. You can send them away if you don't want them. It seems unnecessarily wasteful, as all the empty tables just had those items laid out all night. read more

Amazing food and service. We planned to order 3 dishes between 5 ppl but the server recommend getting only 2 and it was just the right amount of food. The dishes can feed 2-3 ppl. We ordered the steak with garlic, cuttlefish with garlic and chorizo appetizer. read more

Great spot for Bacalhao (salted cod). Excellent service; super friendly wait staff. And if you can't get a reservation you can sit at the chicken restaurant next door and order from the main menu. read more

The portions are huge. We got the codfish dish, which was supposed to serve two but was probably large enough for four. The cod was surrounded by baked potatoes, cabbage, and chickpeas. For 26 euros it was a good deal. Minus 1 star because we were not told that the stuff they initially put on our table without us asking--the bread, cheese, and olives are not complimentary! The cheese was 5 euros. I think the olives and bread were 2-3 euros each. The locals know to send these dishes back (so they don't get charged), but we did not. The water bottles on the table are 2 euros. They also don't accept credit cards. Otherwise great meal and seemed like a local place. read more

Amazing place where locals eat. We were there at 730pm when they opened and luckily got a table as all tables were booked by 9pm. We did the fixed menu for 3 persons. Each costs €20 and they brought out 11 dishes + desserts!!! It's unbelievable, they were so much foods that we had to tell them to stop giving out foods. Waiter was super friendly and spoke good English. Also try their special sangria, it's amazing! Negative side is that it is cash only. I highly recommended this place as it is not a tourist trap like the Timeout market we recently went. read more

I bumped into this place after spending a whole day at Sintra. Originally I was going to try Time Out Market after dropping stuff back at hotel (LX51). But I lost track of time chasing miradouro & sunsets in the neighborhood and had zero will power left venture out. So I walked around the neighborhood searching on yelp and this place showed up. Among all restaurant searches in Lisbon this place had statistically significant rating of 5 stars so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is fully booked but they had a very tiny space right under a boca de incendio box so the waiter ushered me in. He explained (1) cash only, (2) all orders are for 2 people. However, seeing I'm by myself, he was kind enough to reduce the portion. I originally wanted a seafood rice but the waiter recommended cod fish or cuttlefish. So I had cuttlefish, red wine mushroom, and a small (?) pitcher of red wine sangria. Everything from the not-very-good-looking field mushroom to cuttlefish (cooked in garlic, olive oil, some herbs) were AMAZING. The sangria is sweet just by the perfect balance, cuttlefish is so flavorful and tender. I for sure ordered way too much then I can finish but I am going to. As I got slower finishing my meal (~10:30 to 11:00 pm), people come various group sizes came nonstop. Make sure you make reservation, bring enough cash, and enjoy this Portuguese feast! read more

This is such a hidden gem in Lisbon and the most local experience we had while visiting the city. We found the place only because our uber driver recommended it as the best restaurant in Lisbon. Without an appointment, we got a table kindly set up for us. (Def make an appointment, this is a popular place) we ordered the 20 euro/person tasting menu, the quantity of food was so large that I was full after just a few courses.
