I've not shopped here, but 5 stars for the friendliness of the guy who helped me fix my bike at 9am - i.e. probably before he was due to open up. read more

Besonders beliebt sind unsere überholten second-hand Räder mit einem Jahr Gewährleistung. Hier findet man in den Wintermonaten die beste Auswahl. My fault that I don't speak German but the guys on the shop went above and beyond to understand what I needed. I'll certainly use again if needed.

I've had a couple small things done here on my MTB over the past two years, but nothing major. I usually buy my replacement parts online anyway so also didn't really shop here. Yet, recently I added a high end road bike to my riding wares and brought it here for final adjustments after assembly. The guy actually looks like a mean F&%cker as he doesn't laugh much. BUT, he's really nice and the only guy in Hamburg I've found who ALWAYS takes your bike and repairs it. Further, he does this at most in one day. All the other putzes at bike shops in the Hamburg area basically try to rob you first, then keep your bike for a week and in the end, actually do crap work. Not here. I go nowhere else when it comes to bikes and repairs in Hamburg.

I found Minks on Yelp and reached out to them to help me purchase a bike to use for a few days as I traveled around. The responsiveness of the shop was extraordinary. Ole and Mink provided the highest level of customer service. They found a bike for me in less than 2 days. They personally delivered the bike to my hotel and help me fit the seat and made some last minute adjustments. How do you beat that outreach for customer service? I was absolutely humbled by their patience and kindness. They represent their country well. I am trying to get these guys to open a branch in the US. Go Minks! You have made a customer for life.

I was told that they'd call once it was done. 30 minutes later, I got a phone call that my bike was all fixed and ready to for pickup. I returned back and picked up my bike which was good as new all for 8 euros. This is quite good considering the chain joint replacement costs about 4 euros. The shop has two people working in it and they do both sales and repairs of bikes. I didn't look too keenly at their bikes but its pretty safe to say its more catered to the common rider; didn't see many road bikes. That said I own a road bike and they fixed it for me so that isn't a limitation on their repair services.

I needed some new pedals for the bike Im rebuilding and swung by before closing time. Jan, the guy who runs the place, was super nice, helped me out to find some pedals exactly for what I wanted to use them for and let me use the shops tools to switch them out. Bike shops like this always get love from me - not only do they sell things to you but also help you help yourself and let you use all the tools that you would love to have, but dont have the space (or cash) to invest in it. Also, though these guys are all bike geeks, if you come with your old Hollandrad they wont raise their noses at you. Overall a great bike shop and will probably end up being my preferred LBS (local bike shop).

I used to work in a bike shop and am quite knowledgable on products. He quickly realized he couldn't give me his bullsht stories and quickly toned down his sales process. I wanted to put together a city/touring bike and was able to get something which fit exactly what I wanted and was set up with the components I like. If you know what things go for at retail, you can fairly easily negotiate a good price for yourself. I found the employees much better than the owner but yes, they always run to him for approval when negotiating. If you know how and come informed, you'll get the price you want. Further, skip service here. Just do it yourself or find a local shop where you like the people. I wouldn't risk overpaying for something you could easily do yourself. 90% of things on bikes are easily repaired and for big repairs which you can't do yourself, find a local place right near you and get to know the people who work there. They'll always help you out if they recognize you a bit.
