They just replaced the plumbing works on two toilets, fixed a cold water bathroom sink handle that was non functional and cleared out a rather frightening clog from that same sink. Everything done in a timely manner all while handling a curious cat and yapping dog with ease and good humor. This was a same day visit. They were here within an hour and phoned ahead. I am very disappointed in the quality and integrity of this company. They put in a water heater improperly and did not hard wire the pipe. They did work NOT to code and did NOT explain the implications to me. They later accused me of not being willing to pay which is NOT the case at all. Furthermore, they did not properly set up the gas pipe in the crawl space, and it resulted in a very dangerous gas leak while still under warranty. I had had a previous bad experience with them where they charged me over $600 to run a camera to the toilet where they misdiagnosed the issue. I hired another plumbing company to deal with the REAL issue. Because I had had a negative experience with them already, I called another plumbing company to repair the gas leak - Reliable is professional and in integrity. When I tried to seek resolution from the owner Matt Zurn, he was completely disrespectful and insulting. I would steer away from this unprofessional company at all costs. I had a leaking garbage disposal. Zurn got me scheduled right away, and the technicians showed up precisely on time. That in and of itself would have been a bonus. But then, the two technicians they sent, Chris and Rickey...well, let's just say Zurn has made me a customer for life. I am accustomed to being okey doked by technicians as a single woman who clearly knows nothing about house stuff. Chris and Rickey explained things clearly, told me exactly what needed to be done, and then inspected all the other stuff that might fail. They told me what need to be done, but they didn't do a high-pressure sales pitch. They were forthright about what I could do in the meantime, and what I could expect if I didn't do something. What a waste of time and money. I give Zurn Plumbing a try because they are a local, family-run business. Bad choice on my part. The service fee included diagnosing the issue. Nope. $425 to diagnose the problem from the top of the small water spot in our ceiling (toilet removal probably required). $170 to cut the hole in the ceiling. Something that I could do in five minutes with a carpentry knife. This does not include ANY actual repairs. I told them I was going to go a different direction after five minutes of them being at my house and not looking at anything, I was charged $70. Do yourself a favor and call someone else. read more

Mr. Zurn: Having left a detailed message on your office voice mail the night the event occurred - which included my contact information, name and cell number, along with event, location and time. The next morning, I called Zurn's office to confirm my voice mail was received as it was mid-morning, and I had not received any response. I felt your company should be contacting me with the voicemail I had left, even to see if I was OK. That should be the most important matter. But your company never called to even ask nor did the persons I spoke with at Zurn. I was passed over to the service manager. The service manager kept asking me where this event occurred claiming he reviewed video. If he had reviewed video, he would not have to keep asking the location. To Note: This event occurred a few minutes before 11:00PM. As mentioned, my detailed voice mail mentioned location and time. This was disturbing as this conversation was not expected to be demeaning me as I felt. Now, you expect me to call again for more humiliation. Really? You never reach out to me Mr. Zurn nor to show that you cared about the event mentioned or about a member of the community where your business is located. By your service manager's response to me by phone and by your response on Yelp - it is clear where the problem lies. From here on I will be getting out of the way whenever I see a Zurn Plumbing truck in my close proximity. After what I went through, I am advising the community to do the same. This is for community awareness. A reminder Mr. Zurn, to please advise your drivers to be cautious in subdivisions where kids and pets live. No need to respond again Mr. Zurn, what I experienced with that driver of your truck with the name Zurn written all over it, was a safety issue and very dangerous. I could have been seriously hurt in the vehicle I was driving. If the Zurn employee had hit my vehicle, I wonder if your employee would have even stopped. As stated, I was trying to get into the left lane with my indicator on as your employee was tailgating my car. He decided to do the same thing I was doing, and he too close to me. I made a fast decision to turn my wheel back to the right and was able to maintain control of my vehicle. Your employee / driver blew past me way too fast not doing the speed limit. After speaking with your service manager who was rude and hung up on me, I am just fine taking this to the community on Yelp and do not care nor wish to speak with you nor see another post response on Yelp about how safe your drivers are as that is a She said He said. It was your employee and me who was there. I was able to see a profile even in the dark. Let the community be informed with the information provided. Zurn helped us with a real problem. I live in VA but my sister's house in ATL was having a massive sewage backflow. Chris, the manager, sent guys out that day to assess the problem and clear an obstruction. They put a camera in the line and got the line cleared, but they said the problem wasn't solved. A few days later it happened again, and this time Zurn dug up the line and cleared it. Same day. They charged me less than estimated! These guys are terrific. read more

I have used Zurn to install a hot water heater two months ago for $2200.00 and although expensive felt the quality of personnel and workmanship was very good. I just had a very poor and disappointing experience on a problem with my kitchen faucet. They charged me $ 235.00 and couldn't fix the problem and wanted to charge me over $ 900.00 for a replacement!! today I had another Plumber fix the problem with a simple replacement gasket and only charged $ 50.00 for the service call. It appears that Zurn employees work on a commission basis and will try to up sell if they can. Very disappointing as the owner lives in our neighborhood. A couple years ago I bought a house and AS SOON AS I moved in I realized the hot water heater didn't work. Zurn quickly installed a tankless water heater in my home. I recently had my two year check up and they noticed that water pressure was low because of a dated, clogged filter. You know how you don't know what you're just living with until you get something better? I took a shower with my new water pressure and I thought I was under attack from the shower head. Instead of a slow steady stream I was plummeted by water. In a good way. But totally unexpected. I just thought all water in Dekalb County ran slow. I was wrong. Our toilet was broken so we made an appointment 2 days away. He was here for maybe an hour, including time to go for a part. The cost was $400 including our 10% return customer "discount." I should have asked vaccination status prior to hiring, but we'd used them in the past. I'm a cancer survivor who is immune compromised. Had to ask employee to wear a mask. Not vaccinated. Called and made an appointment 6 days in advance. Was told I would have to take a 4 hour time window, they would call 30 minutes before arrival. After the 5th hour of waiting I called their office. The person who answered the phone, Chris, had no idea why no one came or why it hadn't been put on the board. He had all my information but did not show an appointment. His excuse was "I guess it was human error, that happens". I took a half day off work to sit and wait for them. No real apology, just an offer to give me another appointment. I have to co-ordinate multiple professionals to get my project completed. Why would I trust one of the integral parts of my project to a company who didn't show up? They lost thousands of dollars of work due to their "human error". If you need to rely on a professional company to show up....you might want to try someone else. read more

My experience with Zurn started out on a good note on Saturday when I called to report water coming out of the ground. The recorded message said I would hear back from someone in 15 minutes. Much to my surprise, someone called me back in 5 minutes! Mike, from Zurn said they could not get to me until Monday. I was ok with this as the water coming out of th he ground as a slow stream. Monday at 8:15am Sterling from Zurn called and asked me for the same information Mike had provided and told me repair truck would be out by 9am. The truck showed up at 9:15am and the two man crew completed replacing a broken 12" piece of polybutylene pipe by 11am. The bill as presented for $600 broken down $309 for "search for leak by digging" and $291 for "repair leak". I paid the bill by credit card and decided to call the office the next day for a better explanation of the charges. $600 for less than 3 hours of work seemed high to me. Sterling provided a further breakout of the charges. He said the $309 was "searching and digging for the leak". I told Sterling I showed the two workers the spot the water was coming from which is where they found the leaking pipe less than a foot below grade. This took less than 30 minutes for them to dig up, remove the dirt and find the leak in the pipe. Sterling went on to say $256 was for shutting off the water, opening a fire hydrant to bleed air out of the water line and pressure test the system to make sure the repair held. $35 was for the replacement pipe and fittings. I told Sterling $600 for less than 3 hours work seemed to be a lot. He said they do not charge by the hour; they are a reputable plumbing company. This company was recommended to me by another vendor I have used for many years. The vendor said they did good work at a reasonable price. The work done was good. I am not sure about the reasonable part. Update: The coupling Zurn installed less than 6 months later failed. Did I call Zurn to come back and fix it since it is under warranty? No way based on previous experience. read more

......next door neighbor told my daughter she smelled gas coming from the area of her back deck. She contacted Atlanta Natural Gas to report the leak and they sent someone out immediately to locate the leak and lock the gas meter. Next morning she called Zurn Plumbing and scheduled an appointment. Their scheduler called to let us know exactly when their plumber would arrive, which was much appreciated. Master Plumber Mike Prescher quickly diagnosed the cause of the gas leak and gave me an estimate. He told me exactly what he was going to do and how long it would take. Also told me to contact Atlanta Natural Gas to get the meter unlocked and water heater re-lit once he was finished. Would definitely recommend Zurn for any plumbing work. They're a local company that has an established training program for their plumbers to assure they are qualified. Sterling the gentleman on the phone explained everything ahead of time and then called the morning the work was to be done to confirm they would be there on time. Matthew and Andrew showed up, had business cards and uniforms, and were polite and professional. Easily, the worst service experience of my 25+ years in Atlanta. I called a week in advance to arrange an appointment for a very time sensitive project. I was told the first time someone would absolutely call me that afternoon to schedule - no one called. We repeated this drill for the next two days with me reiterating it's importance because as the date approached it would be impossible to schedule another plumber on short notice. I was PROMISED it would get taken care of. And sure enough, someone showed up on Monday morning (I even took the day off work to accommodate this date), but, they said they were only there to do an estimate and wouldn't be able to do the work until Tuesday. The estimate was near $1900, which seemed excessive but they knew they had me over the barrel and I had no other options. I took another day off work to be there Tuesday when the plumber arrived and did 5 hours of work with minimal materials (I had prepared most everything needed). I was shocked when the bill was still near $1900, but I paid it. I took the receipt to two different plumbers who said it was impossible to estimate what was a fair price without an itemized receipt of the work completed. But, based on what I explained I needed done, and the five hours of work it took Zurn, they estimated $600 - $900. I called Zurn and requested an itemized receipt. They repeatedly refused this request. Eventually, the owner emailed me and said it's not their "policy" to itemize the work. Which I told him is because by most accounts it would be impossible to itemize $1900 of nothing. It's my fault for not immediately realizing that when they failed to deliver on their promise to return my initial calls that I was dealing with unprofessional opportunists. BEWARE. They charged me $150 to give me a quote but won't credit all of the $150 unless I did everything on their quote which was greater than $5,000. Be wary of plumbers that charge you a fee to give you a quote. I called Zurn to have them come out for a quote. They said that they charge to come out and give quotes but that if you decide to use them, they will credit the quote fee against the work done. So they sent Shawn over to my house to take a look. All I really wanted was to get a garbage disposal installed and have them check on a leak in my crawlspace. Shawn ends up quoting me 4 things to fix that will cost me over $5,000. When I called Zurn back and told them that I only wanted to do the garbage disposal, they said that they cannot give me $150 (that they had charged me for the quote) unless I did EVERYTHING that was on the quote. ARE YOU SERIOUS? They apologized for the "miscommunication" but they really should be apologizing for "scamming" me. Furious, I found another plumber. BTW, Zurn could only install a garbage disposal but cannot install new wiring. I found a guy that could do both at a lower rate and didn't charge me to give me a quote. read more

After flooding part of our basement, we had a Nation brand company tell us they would need to dig up our basement floor to repair a bow in the sewage pipe. We were referred to Zurn Plumbing Service for a second opinion. Two guys showed up, were very professional, ran their camera into the sewer to check if the first assessment was correct. Thankfully they found no bow in our sewer pipe so we didn't need to sacrifice our new hardwood floor. Power flush was the recommendation. Saved us about seven thousand dollars. I recently had Zurn come to my house to replace the water shut off valve and a new flapper, fill valve, and supply tube for a toilet. I have used Zurn in the past and was happy with the work performed; however, this time I was charged $413 for less than 30 minutes of their time and am still having issues with the toilet as it continues to run constantly. I have since called three different plumbers and they estimated that this job should have cost no more than $250. I also asked Zurn for an itemized invoice and all they sent was the total bill, of $413. On Amazon all of the parts needed cost a total of $30, so I assume that means their rate for 30 minutes is almost $400. I do not recommend Zurn and will not be using them in the future. read more

just used Zurn for relining my sewage pipe in basement,that runs to my septic tank.We had a couple backups and last plumber who looked into it said the pipe was partially blocked and i might have to jackhammer a new one in.SCARY.Looked into it and Zurn has a separte company that just does "relining" iron pipes,both indoor and to the street.Ive used Zurn many times before and they always done great. Matt came out and gave us options.They have a total state of the art lining service,including a robotic tool that cuts the Laterals (the indoor plumbing,sinks,bath, etc) into the new pipe.It was 2 full days,but it went in perefctly.Their guys are very professional,and cleaned up afterwards.Their pricing was right on the average price for this work runs nationally.And now i have a seemless plastic pile that they guarantee for 10 years,and industry says 50 years.BTW it could be used for tree roots blocking sewage pipes to the street as well.No seams no roots. read more

I have done business with this company for years and they use to be one of the best in town. Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience with one of their technicians. Prices were excessive & he would not provide a breakdown of prices he quoted for additional work he recommended. When I contacted the office to request another technician, I was told they would not be sending one today. When I requested to speak to the owner or general manager I was told to call back the next week. I was surprised at the lack of customer service. They charged $550 to replace a new pop-up/drain/pipes under bathroom sink. A technician told me the price difference between brushed nickle pop-up and chrome pop-up would be $100, checked the supply at Lowes less than $50 total. They spent 30-45 minutes for the work, and I felt it was way over priced than others. Will not use this company again. read more

We called in with and emergency leak situation and two techs showed up within an hour and addressed the situation quickly. We also learned the regulator (not sure if that's the proper term) was bad, and had that replaced at the same time. Was very relieved that they showed up so quickly and knew what they were doing. I will never use them again! They were out here all day working on a leaking shower and then told me they didn't have the part. The next day, they asked if I could send a picture of the fixtures and if I knew the brand(why did they not do this?). Then after not hearing back for 4 days, I called back to see if they had been able to locate the part to which they replied they were still looking and would call me back by end of business. No call until 2 days later. I got another plumber out and within 1 hour of arriving To my house, he had taken apart the appropriate parts of the shower and located the new parts online. He had them overnighted and it just took him 30 minutes to fix it. Now that is the competency and customer service I expect. Never again Zurn. read more
