We began with the onion soup, which was absolutely divine--rich, deeply flavourful, and wonderfully balanced. The escargot was another pleasant surprise: nicely chewy and not at all dry, unlike versions we've had elsewhere.
For the mains, I went for the tiger steak. While the flavour was good, a few pieces were unfortunately quite chewy and difficult to swallow. My mum ordered the pikeperch, which was the real standout--perfectly cooked with a decadent citrus note running through it.
All in all, L'Oignon offers a memorable meal with excellent starters and well-considered flavours. With a reservation sorted, it's well worth adding to your plans when visiting Strasbourg.
