What a fantastic find! If you are visiting Berlin, and don't stop to eat here, you are missing out…read more It is an understated neighborhood restaurant that should have a line down the street. But instead, it is a favorite hidden spot for the locals who visit and laugh with each other over fantastic meals. We stumbled across this little gem looking for good local German cuisine that wasn't built on making tourist happy. And boy did we find it. This charming restaurant appeals to the palate and your desire for lovely company, with outstanding customer service. It truly has it all. We chose to sit outside, and were rewarded with a neighborhood setting that was quiet and almost movie -like in its charm. Our waiter was very attentive, engaging and knowledgable, and guided us well through their seasonal menu. Chantrell cream soup with parma ham chips; a salad with apple, tomatoes, and persimmon hit with a little heat to wilt the leaves and heavy brie cheese, followed by the final course of roasted Guinea Fowl with bacon chanterelles and rosemary potatoes. All of it was deftly crafted, the flavors mixed perfectly. The wine pairing was right on target. Every bite was incredible. A true rare find. We are definitely coming back!
