Lovely restaurant located right along the Bergen waterfront! Zupperia offers a wide array of dishes. Everything from seafood, to reindeer soup, to curries. There is something for everyone. I had the teriyaki salmon and it was some of the best salmon I've ever had. The Japanese BBQ sauce paired fantastically with the fish, and the veggies and rice were just as yummy. The fish was cooked perfectly for my taste (a little on the moister side), and the dish was actually fairly large and plenty filling. Service was great. Our waitress was super friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and spoke great English. Prices were very fair by Norwegian & Bergen standards. My meal was just over $20, the total bill for two people was around $60. If I had spent more time in Bergen I definitely would've come back to try another one of their dishes. read more

Went for the soup sampler. It was $17 for three soup samples. We ordered the Hungarian goulash- good flavor, chunks of beef and potatoes. Creamy chicken- chunks of chicken in a chicken cream sauce. Reindeer soup- creamy soups with ground reindeer and mushrooms. Reindeer soup was my favorite. Tasted like there was wine in it. Good service. Free wifi. Indoor and outdoor seating. Man, I wish I'd eaten here earlier in my trip! This menu includes Asian choices, sushi, steaks and burgers and unbelievably delicious soups that more than make a dinner. This was the most reasonably priced dinner we had in Bergen and the tastiest! We started with a Crispy Roll (fried wonton) as an appetizer. We followed with soup. The entree sized bowls are huge... easy to share. My hubby had the Thai seafood soup, Exotisk Drøm. I had Tom Ka Gai, a chicken in creamy soup with noodles and flavored with lemon grass and coconut milk. It made a huge dinner, since there was a lot of chicken in the dish. I have visit this restaurant pretty frecuently during my Bergen trip, so I have been to most of the restaurat in the city! But this one is by far the cosiest! The meny stays the same through out the chain except for a few dishes! The service is okey, don't expect something special. The meals are really good, they even sell beer and wine! The meny has a large variety of food, relatively cheap for Bergen, you will definitely be satisfied! This have been my go to-place when I want a good food and it's a great place to grab a lunch or start the night out at, if you want to save some money! read more

Just writing this review makes my mouth water. I had the chef fish special, the Breiflabb or Monkfish. I went to the aquarium the next day, and I did not like what I saw. Wow it's a really ugly fish. But anyways, it was delicious, and yes I would have it again. My husband had a beefy dish which he liked a lot. We did go back again because we know for sure we will have good food, and this time we figured we should had soup. My husband had the RudolfSuppe (yes, reindeer), and yes he really loved it. I should have something more local, but I decided to have the Clam Chowder, which it did not taste anything like a clam chowder, but it was delicious. This place was recommended by my hostel. She said the reindeer soup was very good. Since reindeer was on my list of foods I had to try in Norway, I had to pay this place a visit. ****SERVICE**** The service here is good like everywhere else in Norway. Maybe I'm just used to bad service here in the US.... They were efficient and helpful with the menu. ****FOOD**** Reindeer soup(Rudolfsuppe)(98 NOK) I actually really enjoyed this soup. It had quite a few chunks of meat inside as well. I made sure to clean this bowl clean :) Monkfish(Urtebakt Briefflab)(245 NOK) I don't ever recall having monkfish before. The best way to describe it is a LOBSTER FISH. It tastes like fish but has the texture of lobster. The food was cooked perfectly but I would guess there are better things on the menu. I also didn't see anyone else order this dish. ****CONCLUSION**** I'm glad I came here to have dinner one night. The wait staff was pretty good despite being very busy. The food wasn't bad. I would give a 4.5 star if possible. I do love this restaurant located in the center of Bergen, it's on the other side of the fish market, the food is good, above average, and most importantly, affordable at the same time. We went there two days in a row when we stayed in Bergen. I recommend their CLAM CHOWDER with half lobster I ordered on the 2nd day, absolutely creamy and delicious, loved the Norway lobster! I was about to order another entree, but the waitress suggested me not to, she thought the soup is in a generous amount that should be enough for me. I took the suggestion and it turned out to be very true. Saved money! I also recommend their HAVETS FRUKTER(Selection of local seafood in white wine, chili and garlic sauce), the sauce was delicious, especially with their bread dipping into it, can't stop. Much like the other reviews, service was just ok. There were only a few waitresses, not a huge issue. First meal I had when I arrived to bergen around 9pm. Cold and rainy, warm, hearty soup was just the trick! I had the Rudolfsoup... Strange to think i was about to eat a iconic Christmas character, but it was so good this mattered no more! Delicious, soft bread for proper dunking! Came with a side of pate, not for me, but I have it a try. My girlfriend ordered the goulash and the beef was tender, broth was thick and flavorful. I stopped in with a friend for Dinner and had, without question, the best Salmon dish I've ever had. I have to wonder if they cooked it in a plastic bag - much like a Thanksgiving Turkey. It was so incredibly delicious and flavorful! And their mashed potatoes almost taste like a combo of sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. Their sauteed veggies were also way beyond anything I've had before. The service was fantastic. Our server couldn't have been more friendly. It was very cozy with great ambiance. Very good food at nice prices (for Bergen). You can get a great meal for moderate cost and the food is varied more than many establishments in the harbor area of Bergen. That being said, traditional items like my wife's Salmon in Sour Cream are great. I felt like having some goulash and it was hearty and well-prepared. Sis and I went for some soup; she's a big soup fan and we both had the beef goulash soup which was good enough, but hardly great. It was thick and her bowl had big chunks of meat and peppers (which she doesn't like) and mine was less meaty and I had no peppers in my bowl. My point is that there was some inconsistency with the soup. Our waitress was rushed as would be expected in such a huge dining room-the dining room seems to be shared between three restaurants in one big, Las Vegas style dining room. The other menus were for steaks and for Asian food. The meal was fine (a school grade of C+), nothing special. But then we ordered the bananas and ice cream dessert and it was GREAT. The fried bananas were really, really good (uh, who knew that we were connoisseurs of fried bananas? They were hot, crispy and totally not greasy. Amazing. Great view, very good service, good food, decent prices. Wife had the seafood soup (white cream base), comes with bread. delicious. I had the BBQ salmon and vegetables with rice. excellent. Delicious soup (Hungarian), reindeer soup, the lemon grass steak and venison dish all excellent. A lot of food for two of us, I ended up taking about 100g of steak and some of the veggies home. It was about $100 for the works, pretty good deal for quality food. The server was very pleasant and joked that she wouldn't take the plate away until we finished all the steak, also said she would make the soup smaller because we were trying so much food, I like that she didn't just try and sell us the most food or the most expensive. After having had dinner at a different Zupperia the night before, we stopped in here for a quick bite and asked that our meal be expedited since we were in a rush to drive to another city that evening. The food here was similar to that of the previous night, although this time we split the grilled duck breast in red curry sauce and the beef ragout, the former being quite tasty in particular, while the latter was decent and hearty. Losing a star because of horrendous music taste. The food was great, but that rasta/pop mixtape has got to go. Imagine yourself, halfway through your steak sandwich, when to your horror you hear a woman brutalizing an Adele classic with a Rasta-inspired beat. This atrocity will then be repeated for the next hour of your meal, ruining some of your favourite tunes; pumped up kicks, Coldplay classics, and even bloody Final Countdown won't be spared.
