We really wanted to try schnitzel and we're excited to see a porn version on the kids menu, we ended up trying it as an "appetizer" but it was from the kids menu! I got the chicken pumpkin risotto which was delicious, the chicken was very juicy! Make sure to save room for dessert... we shared the apple strudel and lava cake! So damn good. Came for the gluten free but the place is so much more than that. Food and drink were absolutely delicious, but it' was the vibe, staff, service, music and customers that made it special. The place was full of people having a great meal and conversation. All the food was great, as was the service. I especially enjoyed the GF beer, which was excellent!

Well.... The restaurant is gluten free. That's the end of the good news. The bad .... We made a special reservation because our daughter has Celiac and we wanted her to have a chance to experience Austrian cousine including (importantly!) dessert. The meal itself was passable. Not great but not terrible. We had been at the table since 8 pm and food came out briskly until the waitress cleared the table after our entrees and .... Disappeared. 5 minutes. 10 minutes. 15 minutes. 25 minutes later we flagged down a passing by waitress and asked her for a dessert menu to be informed that .... Kitchen has closed! We asked why our waitress had not informed us of impeding closing and asked for dessert menu and the woman had indicated that she would find her. 5 minutes later ... we are STILL waiting. Yeah. Everything here is Gluten Free! So nice to have an entire menu dedicated to this allergy. There's also options for vegetarians. And Lactose free everything. Had Bruschetta for the first time in forever! Highly recommend. The decor/seating is very comfortable and modern-retro. Reminds me of a library/coffee shop you would hang out in for a while. Very interesting new restaurant concept! I really enjoyed their vegetarian dishes and vegan desserts. No difference to the 'real' stuff. Food tasted fresh and it came fast. All dishes show the allergens they contain. Personally, I hope they'll also add which food is high in histamines. But this is a good start. The waiter seemed a little overwhelmed at times but was always friendly. The place is a bit noisy and could use some louder music to cover the echoes of people's conversations. You can hear conversations even from across the room! Huge plus: it is all non smoking! I hope they will continue with the healthy theme and even make the outdoor seating areas non-smoking! Traveling is always a challenge when you are gluten free, however I was very happy to find Zum Wohl Gasthaus during our visit to Vienna. The owner provided us with excellent service and I enjoyed my first gluten free veal schnitzel which was incredible. My children who are not gluten free enjoyed the steak tartare and the spinach dumplings. We all enjoyed the gluten free beer on tap which was a special treat. We stopped in after shopping at Maran Vegan grocery and found the service extremely helpful. There were several vegan options on the menu and we were assured that most meals could be made vegan. I chose the roasted parsnips with creamy polenta while my husband had their signature spinach dumplings with tomato sauce. Both meals were outstanding and both plates left the table (nearly) licked clean. For dessert it was a coconut panna cotta. The restaurant can be found very close to Westbahnhoff station on the U6. We ate here twice. My wife is celiac. Great meals and incredible service. The food was enjoyed both nights. The owner came and spoke to us the second night as he recognized us from several nights before. I would recommend this place as a great restaurant in Vienna. Best place in town for vegans/vegetarians or people with allergies. Food looks and tastes good, as it is all organic it is more pricy here. Staff is friendly and professional. Called ahead of time to ensure they still serve food. They confirmed yes until 10. Got there 9 45 and sat down. Waiter comes and abruptly says kitchen is closed. You can still order 2 items only. Then she was leaving. We stopped her to ask again which 2 options? She gave us a lot of attitude, repeated the 2 items abruptly and left. I hated this place and the experience. Never go there ever.
