As she's off on every Sunday (from Yelp), but need to call her if she's working on Sunday. It's not easy to find a good or suitable stylist. Leanne (who did make up & hair set up) recommended to me, so I give it a try. And especially women are very concern about their hair. So I came here on time and she asked my opinion what kind of hair that I'm looking for. She also showed me some sample & give me some opinion. She's very efficient and experience doing her job. I'm very satisfied my after hair cut. She spent an hour to get my hair done. We also talking a lot while she's doing her cutting. Anyway, I will come back for my future hair cut. This place also not too far from my house. The parking not too bad, can find street parking easily on Sunday. This shop location is not too bad, if you have someone coming along and waiting, he/she can just go to Philz coffee shop or walk around Safeway. They are kind close.

Like many other brides in the Bay Area, I postponed my 2020 wedding to 2021. I had already booked a…read morehair + makeup salon for me and my bridal party 18 months prior, but hadn't factored in additional people (my future MIL, future aunt-in-law, junior bridesmaid, grandma, and flower girl). The studio I was contracted with tried really hard to find an artist, but couldn't find anyone available since so many people rebooked their weddings to 2021. I was pretty panicked trying to figure this out for my family (since they were all flying into town and didn't know any salons). I desperately contacted Alex who saved the day! Alex was on time, professional, super talented, and overall a blast to work with! I was really impressed with Alex's versatility and skill! My 7 and 15 year old nieces' hair looked just as beautiful as my 84-year-old grandma's. My grandma loved her hair so much that she asked Alex to use enough hair spray to make it last for a month, lol. Also, my flower girl's hair lasted through the entire night which is saying a lot since she was running laps around the venue at one point :) Thank you so much Alex for making my wedding day so much less stressful!

I couldn't wait cause my hair was way too long and it was time for me to cut. I loved that she asked how short i want to cut at first and she checked on me asking if I like it. She is kind and professional, I feel her confident in her skills! I loved my hair style, by her. I would definitely come back and trust her for other recommendations! I'm thinking to get a perm or dyeing on my hair next time. I happily stumbled across this awesome kid friendly salon for my son today. Originally, I was going…read moreto take him to our usual spot in Albany CA, but I did not realize the salon was closed on Monday's, which will be another reason why I will no longer be taking my son to that salon again. Ugh I hated the fact that the other salon always closed at 5pm during the weekdays because I'd have to leave work early just to make it on time to get my son's haircut. Not to mention it really annoyed me they only accepted cash. But I had tolerated it because the haircut was pretty good. It only cost $20 and they would give my son a lollipop. However, discovering Ixia Salon was a blessing in disguise. Not only were they opened on a Monday but they immediately took my son as a walk-in and were super friendly. Ugh which also reminds me, I also had another salon I'd take my son too in Berkeley CA, where we live. But that hair salon only had one person working so walking- in with no appointment would be a long wait. So finding Ixia Salon was exactly what I needed: open Monday-Friday until 7pm, more than one stylist in the salon and the option to use a credit card for payment. More importantly, my son was very happy and relaxed at this salon. I explained to the stylist that my son is autistic and he has severe delayed speech so I asked if it would be okay if I stayed close to him so I could also help give him instructions. I wish I would've asked for her name because she was very supportive and she totally understood the look I wanted for my son. She was very detailed with his haircut. But what really amazed me was when she asked if I wanted my son's hair washed first before she started to cut the top part of his hair. I know that sounds silly but no one has ever offered to give my son the full salon experience. Every stylist just sprays water on the kid's hair and cuts away. Not at Ixia Salon, the stylist gave him the full experience and my son loved it! She washed, conditioned his hair. Then proceeded to cut his hair, blowed dry it, and then styled it with hair products. His haircut came out really good, especially since he has annoying cowlick on the back of his head so that parts of his hair would always stick straight uP after every haircut but NOT THIS TIME. The stylist really did an excellent job in cutting and shaping his hair to look smooth! It is like the stylist at Ixia performed a miracle and got his haircut to look sharp. Best part, the entire service was just $35 (not including tip). I know $35 may seem a bit much for a kid's haircut but not for a parent like me who has an autistic child. This was money well spent, and as such this will be my son's new hair salon! ‍
