Why DEI is a waste and EOE is allegedly not enough I went to the new Latham NY location of Zoom tan today March 8th 2026 because I am a regular customer at Zoom tan for the last 8 to 10 years that gets the texts and notices of their deals. The employee there was trying to explain that I must be hearing something that I did not or did hear or that I must have misunderstood everything regarding a previous customer in line that was a few feet in front of me. The Zoom tan employee stated the red light therapy was not working and she would honor a deal/coupon the next time that customer, in front of me, came in at Latham after it was fixed. She took a different approach with me as a customer and kept harping on corporate as far as them deciding what would happen if they would honor a coupon or not. She was also harping that corporate decisions were not her fault or her decision. Most would assume that either she is a manager or pretending to be corporate for her location at that time or that day especially since an employee has to call the manager to get "corporate" approval. Maybe I deserve to be treated as garbage for mishearing something that she did say especially because nothing is that manager's or persons fault because it is up to "corporate." Perhaps she is corporate for all of Zoom tan locations or could not care less about return customers at other locations. Could be that she is under the impression that there is red light therapy at all of the Zoom tan locations or only non customers get the notifications and texted deals? Especially because she was like " what happened" in response to me stating that I just came from another Zoom location trying to use the Zoom deal. But I'd assume according to the Zoom employee that that is "corporate's" action or lack there of like every other example in the conversation today. The conversation ended with mention of a camera behind that employee to which I would say there are also ones in the corners of the location that may have a view of her speaking and the audio would confirm on the one directly behind her at the front desk what she thinks I missed or did not understand. But maybe she will explain to customer service or her upper management she may have mumbled and had every reason to keep blaming "corporate" or a customer for problems. Not sure but maybe intimidation tactics with an employee mentioning a video camera with audio is supposed to help only her? I would also guess it's corporate's fault there aren't two employees working Sundays and it's also corporate's fault the customer line gets four or five customer long every 20 minutes or a couple times an hour. Maybe it is the customers fault but clearly not her fault as an employee? It is too bad because this occurred once before in Latham Zoom tan before they relocated a couple years ago! read more

The owner cares only about money he is the equivalent of the Walmart CEO. His greed has put numerous young people out of work in our area. I NEVER had an issue with the employees at St Croix in Latham. They were wonderful unlike the rude employees of Zoom who might as well be from Florida read more

Please do not give this business your $. 40+ local women are out of a job due to the St. Croix merger. Would love to see the CEO finally make a comment. More than 40 ladies at St. Croix were promised jobs at Zoom, all they had to do was fill out the application and onboarding. Simple enough right? Most of these woman have proof that they applied and followed the steps correctly- only to be part of a mass firing. The company's social media manager is claiming only 2 applications were received, and that is why they had to close most locations. Meanwhile these girls have confirmation their applications were received, with emails from HR "excited for them to join the team". Terribly sad situation, hard to believe there's companies out there that do not hold transparency and honesty in their values. read more

I love Zoom Tan the cleanliness quality but you have one girl that works there that takes forever who does not stop talking... she's nice but she does not stop talking ! It usually takes 20 minutes - and when she's working it takes an hour read more

I have been tanning here for a couple weeks now. The girls that work here are helpful and friendly enough and the tanning booths seem clean enough but the problem I have are the floors in the tanning rooms. They don't seem to clean them as often as they should, especially when people are barefoot on them. I've seem them with drops of liquid and also sticky, and have gone back the next day or a couple days later and they still haven't been cleaned. I hope they start cleaning them regularly. read more

Well I can see from the other reviews I am not the only one that Zoom Tan is continuing to steal money from ! First they come in and take over a decent tanning salon with excellent quality Equipment and tanning products and replacing them with cheap stand up booths and products , poor customer service , and no care whatsoever for the consumer . Then for those of us who wanted nothing to do with the company and attempted to cancel our membership , we're made to jump through hoops , only to be unsuccessful and to see continued charges each month on our bank accounts ! This is got to stop. This company lacks any sign of Integrity or customer service . I will continue to post on Facebook and Instagram , and gather others going through the same situation . Whether it's $5 or $5,000 that money is ours and Zoom Tan had no right to take it from us ! I believe we should all get together and do a class action suit. From what I am understanding, the amount of money they have been stealing from people throughout the years, I'm sure it's millions of dollars. Let's take this rotten organization of Thieves down! read more

I have never written a review on a site like this before, but, my experience at this place needs to be known so others do not have to go through something similar. I simply wanted to get a tan before leaving on vacation in a couple weeks and expected to just buy a few sessions and be on my merry way. I was all but forced to purchase a reoccurring charge package, which I did not want. After much back and forth and rudeness from the worker I finally was able to get a single tan. I did not have patience to try to fight to buy multiple tans at once. While the place is new I think, it is filthy - very very filthy. There is hair in the booths and on the floors, grime and finger prints on the booths and on the insides of the tanning rooms. The people that worked the two times I went there were disinterested and unhelpful. I didn't feel welcomed. My last visit I asked if the booth I had tanned in had been cleaned recently and the girl very rudely said "I think so." Well, if you "think so" and don't "know so", it's not a good sign. Also, you may want to know what prompted a customer to ask that question. But no, there was no follow up, I was dismissed. I did not return until a few weeks later when I saw a charge on my card from Zoom Tan. I was confused and called them on an 800 number which turned out to be corporate. Now I know where the store workers learn their rudeness and disinterest. The person did not help at all and just kept repeating that I signed up for a membership and that I could cancel any time online. They did not care when I pointed out that I had actually purchased a tan each time I visited, which I would not have done if I had this reoccurring package. They could not have cared less that I was upset. I hung up with no resolution except to go online and cancel a scam that I had never signed up for. I went back to the store itself and the person there said to call the 800 number and, not surprisingly, did not care much about my problem. It was a very frustrating scenario. I'm now waiting to see if I am charged again on my card this month. read more
